always a good experience at Locals. Sushi is always fresh and my go-to place in Mount Pleasant. Service has always been excellent also. Nice back patio with musicians sometimes when the weather is nice. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Went in with my kids for a late dinner and their 1/2 price sushi night. The food and service were great! The only complaint I have is with the bartender. He started dropping the F word a couple of times and said GD once, too. My kids are 10, 12, and 13, and I absolutely did not appreciate his language. It will probably keep from returning with my family in the future.
We’ve been here multiple times and continue to love this place! This was our first time sitting outside on the covered patio. Our waiter, Walker W., was fantastic! A shout out for his exceptional service, not to mention that our food was delicious once again! We’ll done!
I always go to the one in west Ashley on Tuesdays but I was in Mt P this week on a Monday and wanted to take advantage of the delicious choices in half price sushi options. The wait was about 25 minutes, so my party grabbed a few drinks and we sat down. Food was delicious, pictures for proof. Server was friendly and got us our food very quickly! Good times!
Very tasty tempura deep-fried salmon roll!! My only recommendation would be to make the portions bigger because there is a big chance you will still be hungry after one rolls portion. Crab Rangoon are not on my photos but it was also a smaller portion. I thinks it’s a great vibe place and worth checking out! Kids friendly.
Best sushi I've had in a very long time. I'll be honest in saying I was hesitant because, seriously, never would consider sushi from a bar, but so glad I did! 7 rolls and each one better than the last. My son's kid's meal was impressive as well. Great portion, not skimp. Marley is an amazing server, very attentive. Even being on a 45+min wait, she never missed a refill or check in. Id consider driving from NC for a sushi date night every now and again.
Tacos or sushi. An interesting line up for a menu. Friendly staff and great service. Pricing and the food is good. I think I need to come here again to fully process my review. But overall I find the my experience here was really good.
BEWARE: You will return to this location many times after you first try it. They have mastered the art of consistency— quite the accomplishment considering the size of the menu. Their sushi is some of the best in town, particularly for the price. It’s quite jarring just how much better these folks are at sushi than the other places in town that are focused on Asian cuisine. Hibachi is best bang for your buck in the Lowcountry. If you’re a local, this is the place for you.
This is a must visit if you are in the area!
This was my first time here in July. I was on vacation in the area. This is not a place that I would have stopped in on my own had it not been for a recommendation.
The food here was excellent.
The Asian and American fusion of food was delicious and this is definitely somewhere I recommend everyone to stop by and get something to eat.
The calamari is similar to the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill and puts in a good competition for which one is better.
The Japanese mozzarella sticks are to die for.
The Jerk Pulled Pork Taco was definitely a good mix of three diverse groups as it had the spicy cabbage like stuff on top.
This might be my west indian bias but I think having the actual jerk sauce with the Jamaican Cabbage would have really put this one over the top.
I am far from a sushi fan but this place has made me rethink my thoughts about sushi. That have a good variety and the few that I have tried were really really good.
Awesome sushi! Great employees, delicious food, and chill atmosphere. I loved the Crab Apple and Caribbean rolls. I can't wait to go back and try other items from the menu. I also really enjoyed the apple-flavored hot sake.
Went Monday for 1/2 price Sushi. It did not disappoint. Lots of TVs for sports. I wish I would have sat outside, very cool patio area in the back. Great bartender, prompt accurate service. The lady next to me got wings and they looked even better!
Great sushi is probably the last thing you'd expect to get when you walk into Locals. But it is tremendous. The best in this area for sure. And the wait staff is cool.
Who thought you could get decent tacos and excellent sushi at one place?!?
The tacos are pricey, but the sushi is very well priced.
Got the Street Corn, and it might be the best elote I've ever eaten.
Social distancing was a problem, with tables being too close. I requested they NOT seat someone right next to us, and they said they were at 100% capacity according to local guidelines. The seated parties felt uncomfortable on their own, and requested new tables.
Service was excellent.
My bartender, “Mr Nick” (as we say in the south) did a great job. He’s patient with everyone, made..up to 4 drinks simultaneously (2 shakers each hand, seriously!), knows the menu like a he’s worked there before (he’s one of their top bartenders) & did a great job creating a drink I’d like.
Food: the pretzel, spicy salmon roll & crab something were all super yummy.
You never saw anyone on staff standing still or not smiling, which isn’t always a common thing.
It’s a great spot to go to, get your eat and drink on & not have to scream to talk to your friends. Great time being entertained, thanks to Mr. Nick.
Whatever formula the owners have, it’s working well!
I loved the garlic parmesan wings and veggie sushi. The service was great and we were seated right away without a reservation. I will say it was crazy buggy outside on the deck. If you do not like bugs or flies I recommend sitting inside.
There was 12 of us and they did a great job accommodating. Service was prompt and friendly. The sushi was delicious and very fresh. The sashimi was so tender. Cocktails were perfect and the restaurant was super clean. Would definitely eat here again
The sushi was delicious and Pet Friendly. They have an air conditioned cover patio where you can sit with you dog. Marley was our server and she was very attentive and sweet with my dog. I got it three stars because the music wasn’t to my liking. But I would definitely go again.
