My boyfriend and I were in the area to shop, and we were looking for a place to grab lunch. After seeing the lonnngg line at Raising Canes, we decided to look elsewhere. Luckily, Toni's was a hundred feet away, and pizza sounded like a good idea. I'm so glad we decided to come here rather than wait for Canes!! The pizza is superb and exceeded our expectations. We shared a small, which is the perfect size for 2. Also, our server was very kind and attentive. We left very happy š 10/10
Delicious Detroit style pizza in a welcoming atmosphere. I liked the chill vibe and the two big screen tvās for watching the game on Sunday night. The service and the food were both exceptional. I was very pleased to find this spot. I will definitely return next time Iām in the area.
Because of the great reviews Toniās Detroit Pizza already had, we were excited to visit. We are so glad we did! My husband had the Meat Deluxe Pizza and I had the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. Thick, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside deep dish crust piled high with our favorite toppings! Delicious! The Buffalo sauce wasnāt at all hot, but was still delicious. Definitely recommend!
This pizza joint has a good pizza! Also, this place has some great Detroit nostalgia. Definitely recommend checking this place out!
This location offers military discount.
Staff was super friendly. Took a minute to get seated. The wait for food was a little long, however; this is a pizza joint and it takes a little more time to get food than normal. For this reason, be patient and go easy on them.
For a party of 5, the price was good. The small pizza comes with 4 hearty slices of buttery, crispy thick crust; which was awesome! None of the members of my party was able to comfortably complete a small pizza by itself.
As for meaningful feedback, I was not a fan of the marinara sauce covering the top of the pizza. This overwhelmed the flavors of the added toppings, ultimately taking away the full flavor of all the ingredients. For example, I ordered a small āSuperā pizza (pepperoni, ham, onion, mushroom, and green peppers). The sauce was so much that everything had that zesty and sourāish flavor that comes with a marinara. It was hard to get the bite and flavor of each of those ingredients, so much so I couldnāt taste the pepperoni and barely got that onion and mushroom flavor one would expect. I did get the green peppers and ham flavor out of it more pronounced than the others. Please refer to the pictures added to this post.
Lastly, the staff was nice, however; I didnāt get offered a drink refill until we were done with the meal.
For the few reasons mentioned in the previous two paragraphs, this convinced me of giving a 4 Stars rating instead of 5!
Ultimately, a very good pizza joint and I would recommend to visit!
As a Detroit native visiting SC, I had to try this place. The atmosphere was top notch! Tons of Detroit sport memorabilia +more. The menu was 'Detroit pizza' complete with all the typical menu items you'd expect. My wife's Antipasto Salad came in a metal bowl, this is customary for any Detroit pizza shop. I ordered the Detroiter pizza. I consider myself a pizza snob so I tend to be overly critical. Toni's did a great job but has room for improvement. The one thing they got perfect was the crust and dough. Once cooked the dough was thick but light and fluffy, not heavy. The crust was crispy with a hint of burnt cheese on the top while the bottom was a dry golden brown. A lot of 'Detroit' pizza shops outside of Detroit will over grease the pan and you'll have a greasy bottom. Not Toni's, perfect. The sauce was a little on the sweet side compared to most other Detroit shops. Detroit sauce tends to be on the sour side except for places like jet's (chain) or shields. Toni's got two things wrong with my pizza. First, pepperoni goes under the cheese, not on top. They did this in a couple spots on my pie but most were above cheese. Second, since I ordered the Detroiter, the sauce should be spiced with oregano (+more). Toni's opted for the fast and less tasty way of just sprinkling oregano on top (boo). A good Detroiter sauce will have it mixed in. Overall, great pizza, would definitely eat here again. Very close to the original which is great!
This is true Detroit style pizza. Being originally from Detroit and reading all of the great reviews, I had to try it. It is as authentic as you'll find anywhere. Super cool atmosphere with Detroit memorabilia.
Their pizza is so delicious!! I got the Detroiter Pizza and my boyfriend got the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. Both were so good! I love a good pizza and this place definitely hit the spot.
Seems like I really like Detroit style pizza, at least at Toni's. We tried the pepperoni, because we wanted to see how good their basic pizza would be. The crispy cheese cooked onto the edges of the crust gives it a great texture and changes the flavor too, giving it a little parmesan flavor. Goes great with the slightly spicy sauce and crust. Also, we discovered it reheats to deliciousness in a hotel microwave, so another point for that! ALSO, service was super quick and our server was very friendly. Go try some Motor City style pizza! Thank me later.
Visiting family from a Detroit suburb and wanted to get some good, non-chain local pizza while in Mt. Pleasant. Did a Google local search for pizza near me and sorted the choices by highest rated. Happy to see "Detroit style pizza" in the name of this restaurant. Highly rated reviews and let me tell you they lived up to the hype! We ordered the Mediterranean and the BLT specialty pizzas. They were absolutely fresh and delicious with a perfectly crispy crust without being overly greasy. All of us- Michiganders and the locals alike; loved this pizza. Our family that lives there will be ordering again in the future and we will be sure to stop by on our next visit. We did take out but I popped into the dining area which was absolutely spotless and charming and full of Detroit, Michigan memorabilia. Try this place for sure!
Pizza here is delicious! Crispy on the outside crust with a soft, elastic middle. There are several toppings to choose from and of course they offer signature pizzas as well. We had the Super with added black olives, and built a Hawaiian. Both were large and fed my family of 6 with no problem! The decor is fun and cute and done in a Motor City theme with toy cars and pictures of cars everywhere. Our server, Joel was just the sweetest man you will ever meet. He was attentive, engaging, friendly and did a great job hosting us. This was not our first time in and won't be the last!
