We ate there for the first time yesterday. The food was hot and fresh, the portion size was ginormous (enough for 4 people) and the staff was friendly and attentive. We've lived in the area for 3.5 years and it's the first time eating there.....won't be the last!

The staff and management go above and beyond to accommodate you. Always friendly and they let you know how much they appreciate your business. The food is freshly cooked and the portions are huge! The salads are fresh, the sushi to die for, the meats are always tender and the sauces are home made. This is our second time eating here this week and I'd give more stars if I could!
Saw my friend Mr Sano this morning and thought about chicken bowls all day. Got off at 7 and headed over. Got my chicken bowl and decided to try the beef dumplings. So happy I did. They are DELICIOUS y'all ! Great food, great price, great people!

Got the yakisoba noodles with chicken. Portion size was large and very filling. Decent amount of chicken as well and veggies and mushrooms. The staff was friendly and the tables were clean as was the cooking area which you can see

First off I'd like to say I originally tried to call about 4 or 5 times to place an order. They either have childish and immature people controlling the phone and or they don't believe in out of town calls, which is weird being that it's a spot everyone Vacations at. Anyways, first time I called they immediately hung up before it finished ringing. This was around 6:40ish Saturday Night on 8/26. Next two calls they let it ring a few and then hung up. The 4th time someone picked up and mumbled something and then just sat there not saying anything with me responding. After the dumb tries in trying to place an order by calling I decided to go up there since they are 1 mile from my dad's house. Get there around 7pm and the place wasn't busy at all maybe had two different tables eating. Lot of young people behind the line, actually too many people for how NOT BUSY it was. Ordered about 82 in food for two people. Way more than I should had. But I got California Rolls and Mon Orange Rolls. Both made well and tasted fresh and good. Got a large Teriyaki chicken bowl and Steak bowl. Those bowls alone are good enough to fill you up and tasted amazing. Got 2 pan fried dumplings, tasted amazing. Also grabbed 2 Shrimp Wonton soups. The dumpling was so good with a burst of flavor biting into each. Lastly ordered a Hibachi and Zucchini that was also good. The whole meal itself, was amazingly good. Downside, I think it best they put an actual adult or at least a mature employee at the station to pick up the phone. I can see why it's not busy. I feel like workers are running away Money for a place that serves really good food for real. It's sad really.
Have been coming to this place since my wife was in high-school. Probably some of the best Japanese food I've had, including places where they cook in front of you. Staff is polite and there is no charge for extra shrimp sauce. The sushi is very good as well. Always a stop anytime we are in Myrtle Beach.
Delicious Japanese food at affordable prices. Clean place with counter service and seat yourself after placing your order. Self serve soda fountain with Coke products. Many sauces/condiments as shown in the pictures posted.
This place was awesome. Delicious sushi and soup and place was busy for lunch. Heard a lot of people ordering the chicken bowls for lunch. So impressive by the quality, sauce selection, and the vibe. Super clean- owner was cleaning up and keeping things nice. In from out of town and so glad I stopped!
Visited twice within 30 days. Very pleased and it was very clean. I found out that this location is not affiliated with the Cway location. The menu has more to choose from. Staff is ok in my book. Good variety.

Pros : Fast service & friendly staff, broad menu of Japanese cuisine (hibachi/teriyaki, sushi, they even have takoyaki!) clean restaurant & bathrooms.
Cons : It's not really a con, but I can't think of anything negative about Mon Cafe! So, just a heads up, it's a fast causal place so maybe not the place for a fancy dinner date.
I really love Japanese food, sushi, ramen, etc. My family doesn't so this is a great place since they have a bit of everything. I found poke a few years back and love it (when I can find it!) I didn't see it on their menu, but there was a sign by the register that said poke, went with it. Glad I did. IT'S SO GOOD. The sauce!! I love spicy poke, and I haven't tried milder versions but wow. Whatever sauce these guys use is absolutely delicious, pretty sure it's a ginger sauce. I got the tuna/salmon mix with sushi rice, I highly recommend it.
I've worked in restaurants for years, so I always like to shout out to the staff as well. You guys have a great restaurant. I see you take pride in it and it reflects in your food, thanks for a great meal!
Called to place a to-go order and was told 15 minutes. When I got there it was ready for pickup. From the guy that took my order to the lady that took my money they were all friendly. The place was clean . The stake and shrimp was good , the hibachi stake was a little over cooked. The rice was the best.
I’ve been here 3 times, and each time the food is absolutely wonderful. The blend of spices mixed with the quality ingredients make this restaurant an absolute favorite of mine. I highly recommend giving their food a taste!
It is hard to find a local restaurant that has good service, great tasting food, a perfect climate, well Mon Cafe in Surfside has it all. I go there all the time for the past 12 years and every time it seems to get better!!!!
Really good steak! Their rice is free of vegetables (peas, carrots etc) which I appreciate. Veggies are good. Their fried cheesecake is also really good. Super clean place. We’ll come back!
Always clean and always delicious! Staffs are nice! Food is ready fast and many options are available to order. Many different authentic Japanese items are on the menu! Love it!
