Reviews Martin's Bar-b-que Joint

Martin's BBQ has what you expect from BBQ place -- decent food, okay service, and fun decor. Brisket and pulled pork were disappointedly mouth-drying, but the sides made up for a lot. There were flavorful hush puppies with little bits of onion inside, satisfyingly fresh coleslaw, and nice, smoky baked beans. Mac 'n cheese wasn't especially notable, and the salad was about what you'd anticipate at a BBQ. Staff was helpful, but wouldn't call them overly enthusiastic, while the decor on the wall served it's purpose to amuse customers while waiting to order at the counter. Overall, it's a decent place to eat, but for what is charged for barbecue nowadays, I expected it to "WOW" me a bit, and it just didn't.

We came to this location for ease of parking. You order first, so we decided what we wanted with the great help from the gentleman at the desk. We ordered the Big Brother Sampler with a mix of dry rub and sauced ribs, fries and beans and also the brisket tacos with fries and slaw. The brisket was perfectly moist, as were the ribs. Super tender and fell off the bone. We enjoyed the sauced more than the dry rub, but the dry rub definitely had good flavour. They had the perfect amount of smoke, not overpowering or too dry on the edges. The fries were great! Crispy enough and not overly salted. The beans were fantastic with chunks of brisket and bits of jalapeños. The slaw was very good!! The cabbage was the perfect amount of crunchy and sliced nice and thin, the coating was sweet but not too creamy with the right amount of vinegar- slaw is typically my go to which I’m usually a hard critic on, and I was very impressed with this one! We also tried a sampler of the side sauces; the ranch/vinegar style was great with the fries, the honey mustard had great sweetness, the hot sauce wasn’t insanely spicy and had sweetness to it, the heat didn’t linger and overpower the food. Lots of seating and the food gets brought to your table We would absolutely come here again!

Our first time ever visiting Martin's was on July 21st. We came from KY to go to the zoo and decided to check this place out too! & It was great! We got 2 pulled pork sandwiches and fries & for my kids, they had grilled cheeses and fries. I also got a togo order of a half a rack of ribs mac n cheese and potato salad. The mac and potato salad weren't our favorite, but the BBQ was amazing! I would definitely eat here again. It was less than $60 for all of that food.

My fiance and I were in Nashville for the weekend and this place stood out after doing some research online. Only around $10 away from Broadway in a cab so not too far out, but enough to give a real good flavour of local living. Jack who took our order was an absolute star, if you could bottle his positive energy you'd be rich! The food was a 10/10. Much better than a burger on the strip, get out there and sample the real deal!

Martin's is always, always delicious. Their meat truly is smoked to perfection. Their brisket is unbelievable. Great customer service as well. I WISH wish wish we had a Martin's in Murfreesboro. What a dream come true. Martin, if you're listening..... Our top BBQ joints, in my opinion, are Mission BBQ and Jim 'n Nicks BBQ. Both great in their own right, but Martin's is something else, something special. Something more down to earth, friendly and a much less business-like vibe. The only real complaint I have is the inside can feel a bit cramped. Anyways, come on down to the Boro. 🙏

So my husband and I went to Martin's on the Father's Day weekend coming from Columbus Ohio! My husband had been wanting ribs for awhile now so, we stopped at Martin's! We ordered the full slab of ribs that came with 3 sides. We ordered the greens beans, fries, and Mac and cheese. When I tell you the ribs "slap" (are the BOMB), I mean it!! We destroyed these ribs like nobody's business lol! They are wonderful and the staff there was extra kind. They were so wonderful. We did not personally like the Mac and cheese but hey, our opinion doesn't count for much, I would definitely try them for yourself as we all have different taste buds. The green beans we excellent as well. I did not get a picture of the sides because I was so focused on the ribs and taking pictures to make my family jealous 🤦🏽. Anyhow, Martin's is a 5 in my book regardless of what we thought about the Mac and cheese! The ribs alone are a 5 and the kind people. Definitely worth us traveling back to Nashville and eating there again.

I didnt get a picture of my food because I wasn't expecting to bed to write a review. I ordered the baked potato and it was the BEST PULLED PORK I've ever had (I didn't even need the sauce)! I also ordered a cup of chilli and I am glad I did for one, the potato wasn't as big as others I've ordered but also because it was flavorful. My husband had the brisket sandwich and he definitely had food envy.

1st time here! We came on a Friday night around 7 pm and it wasn’t too busy. Order your food first and then take a seat. There is tons of seating available inside and outside. There is a separate line for the to go pick up orders. There’s some parking on the street and behind the building. Definitely recommend if in the area.
