So tasty and authentic- some of the best Mexican I've ever had!! Highly recommended!!
The food was really good. Most of what you can get here you can get anywhere but they do have a few different things. The tortillas are handmade and delicious. The only downside was the air conditioning or lack thereof. other reviewers are correct that they don't seem to speak very good English and i was quite literally the only white person there. If this bothers you, go somewhere else.
Fogatas at Nolensville Pike is Diamond in the Rough. Fogatas at Nolensville Pike is tucked away in a plaza, so it is a little hard to find and might not be immediately visible from the road, but it is well worth the search for the best traditional Aztec cuisine (and also Mexican) in Nashville. The staff is friendly and faithful and the food is reasonably priced (my dinner there cost $11.00, and the portions are so large it was like getting two meals for the price of one). The owner, Caesar, pours his heart and soul into the food at this restaurant so you know anything you order will be delicious based on that fact alone. Though it is not marketed as such, the menu features locally grown and natural fruits and vegetables so you can be sure that what you are ordering is not only good for you and free of pesticides, but also helps to promote a sustainable future.
Inside the restaurant you will also discover a juice bar where you will find luscious, fresh-squeezed juices from local and natural produce. I invite you to discover this diamond in the rough for yourself and show your support for this local business by ordering a HUGE glass of their freshly-squeezed chilled cantaloupe juice. (Which is the perfect healthy treat for a hot summer day!)
The real thing!. Wow, they do have great mexican food. If you go on weekends you can even enjoy some other items. Make sure to check out the natural juices section! Oh yes, make sure to be ready to practice your skills in spanish!
Best Mexican Food in Town!. This is the best Mexican restaurant in Nashville. I bring all my friends and family here. Quality / fresh ingredients and totally authentic. Give them a try if you haven't yet - it will be your new favorite as well!
LOVE IT!!. I've been coming here for years. It had another life as El Manjar. It's owned by the same folks. Yes, it's authentic Mexican. The servers don't speak much English. But I've always had good service and good food. If there have been any surprises with my order, I've enjoyed them!! Went for breakfast today. They were very busy. Many Mexican families with babies & small children. I was the lone Anglo customer. The server recognizes me & keeps my coffee cup full. I had huevos a la Mexicana which may or may not be on the menu. The version I request is with jalapenos, onions, tomato & chorizo. It's served with rice & beans and their hand made corn tortillos. Add the green crema & delicioso!!! It's a Mexican restaurant run by Mexicans serving primarily Mexicans. If you're game, you'll be rewarded! BTW, their health food score is 96.
Real Mexican food made by real Mexicans from Mexico!
First impression: A little low-rent. A/C wasn’t keeping up and servers were too busy to greet. But that quickly all turned positive with a friendly waitress and absolutely delicious fajitas and juice drinks. Then the live music started and it was all amazing! We’ll be back, but casual clothes are in order.
Absolutely delicious and service was fast and friendly! Fresh, homemade corn tortillas were amazing, and the super hot salsa drizzled into the table salsa took it over the top. Chile relleno was as good as I make at home, with ranchero sauce liberally poured atop. The taco and enchilada plate was so good I may do that next time. Btw, those beans and rice were yummy.
Go. Most folks spoke Spanish who were eating here, a sure sign for excellent Mexican food.
First time here, the service was great. The food was so delicious. The rice was some of the best Mexican rice I've ever tasted and the taco shell was different from any I've ever tasted but it was delicious as well. Cons are: they dont sell liquor and they only sell sodas in the bottle which cost $3.25 so no free refills.
Great place, great food, great service, great fresh made fruit drinks. Loved it, took my mother, this was her and my father's favorite place to eat, reminded my dad of home back in Mexico. My breakfast dish huevos con chorizo, rice, beans, moms was menudo. Delisous, hit the spot
We’ve been here a handful of times and have always had an amazing experience! Highly recommend the al pastor tacos on homemade corn tortillas. The lamb barbacoa & stew (weekends only) is the best lamb I’ve ever eaten in my life, and I normally don’t even like lamb. They have fresh juices and horchata which are always delicious! There can occasionally be a slight language barrier, but it’s a great opportunity to practice your Spanish! We’ve tried other authentic Mexican restaurants, but always end up coming back to Fogata’s because it never disappoints. Thanks, Fogata’s!!
Wow what an experience at this place. Would 10/10 recommend the margs and the beans. Holy moley the beans. If you like beans then sweet Jesus you'll love this place.
Group of 13 people to celebrate my daughter’s college graduation! Everyone’s food was primo! Salsa is authentic! Waitress was charming and very accommodating! Highly recommend this restaurant!
I’ve tried many Mexican restaurants in Nashville and THIS is the place to get Mexican food. Everything here is top notch. It is REAL Mexican food… The alambre is amazing! You’d be dumb to give this place less than 4 stars. The food is phenomenal!
Best Mexican food i EVER had, service was amazing. Everyone was very alert and helpful which is lacking in most industry. I had a great hibiscus water (Mexican Kool-aid 😋) I enjoyed the mixed fajitas, so full im just layer in the parking lot. I will be back soon. I will never Forget about Fogatas
Was worried about finding another real Mexican restaurant with breakfast, barbacoa, pozole soup, etc., not another '#3 combination' joint. This was wonderful and I can't wait to go back.
Great place, very friendly staff. And their Enchiladas de Mole was out of this world!
Chilaquiles verdes excellent food and the taste increible I love it
This was our first time at this location; we used to eat at the Franklin location before Covid. We were so sad when it closed! I'm glad we discovered that they still have this location in Nashville. We'll definitely be back.
Quick service and really quick food. I am pleased with the fajitas overall. A little too greasy for me but they were tasty. The homemade corn tortillas cannot be beat. The salsa is also delicious. I'll definitely go back.
*Edit: after having the tacos al pastor, updating my review to a 5 star. I couldn’t recommend anything more higher than the tacos al pastor. Loved them!
Only thing was it was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious, I especially love the seasoning in the rice. Great Food!!!
Excellent food and good but slow people serving. The owner works in the place keeping the ship straight. I only had a quesadilla and rice and beans but it was Excellent. The salsa was good and the horchata was good too. This is a not miss location but it's not perfect
Loved it, had the chicken chimichanga which was awesome, really great chips and salsa too
