My only qualm is that my cousin and I ordered the same drink, but the amount in the cup was not the same.(The picture shows both drinks untouched, so you see what I mean.) Setting a standard in making the coffee being uniform is the only thing missing here. What this location carries a lot of is flavor, authenticity, and that Texas heart. I may be a native Tennessean, but my heart belongs to the Lone Star state.
My order: Guava Jarrito (I screamed internally, cause these are hard to find.) Half Mexican Vanilla, half Texas Honey Cinnamon iced flat white. It was absolutely amazing. ( I definitely ordered one to go. ) My bowl was a build your own. Steak, eggs, beans, queso, jalapeños, and potatoes. Their food comes in the cutest bowls, portions are normal, but most Americans would find it small. KEEP THAT IN MIND, if you're a "hearty" food person. Do not say they're overpriced for the portion, just go to waffle house.
If you have the time to sit in the cafe, do it. The music isn't too loud, it's spacious, and comfortable. A little chilly for me, so bring a sweater!
Tempo is my favorite place in Nashville.
They make you feel like family, coffee is always good (I like to buy a bag of coffee beans there and get a drip), and I’m from San Antonio so the tacos are what I’ve been looking for. The bean + cheese is the ultimate comfort (especially for us Texas born), for vegetarians the bean + cheese +add potato is life changing. I can’t stop going for the steak + egg taco and dirty horchata right now. And you cant leave without trying the salsa. Nothing better.
I was craving a good breakfast and wanted to check out this place because of the reviews. I ordered the Texas Scramble and a chai tea latte with oat milk. The Texas scramble was delicious! A simple meal but really hearty and good. The chai tea latte was not the best. I didn’t really taste the chai flavor. But I would go again for the Texas scramble and I want to try the breakfast tacos next!
Tacos were very good! Coffee was very good!! Atmosphere was also, very good!! Haha.
I got all three of the breakfast tacos with meat (sausage, chorizo, bacon). They were all very tasty. The salsa was REAL taste. I should have asked for more!!
I got a hot mocha. It had a full taste, definitely not watery or too milky. A great combo of yummy espresso and good chocolate.
The space is very nice. The hints of music (stage w/ live instruments, cymbal lights) was very cool and hip. Very friendly employees!!!
GO HERE! We’ll definitely have to return soon. I am a big fan!
If you are looking for delicious breakfast 🌮, great coffee and weekend donuts, this is the spot for you! We scored the drip 8.6, the espresso 8.7, the Mexican Vanilla Latte 8.5 and most importantly the house special Dirty Horchata 9.0!!! Tempo uses Greenway Coffee out of Houston. The breakfast tacos were outstanding and the donuts from Conny and Jonny Donuts were supreme! We will 💯 be back on a regular basis. Full review available on YouTube.
Loved it! Such a great crowd in here. Warm welcome and such amazing food! The ice coffee tastes better than at Starbucks!!! Great amount of coffee with enough milk and not too sweet. We will stop by again.
Coffe, Tacos, & doughnuts, oh my! 😋 This chill, hip, coffee shop will not disappoint! Founded by professional musician, Javier Solis, this space has heart & soul with a creative taste. You will find creative events offered here as well! There is a very welcoming vibe here. ❤ They also focus on sustainability, which is very much appreciated.
TL;DR : For consistently great coffee, authentic Texas inspired breakfast tacos, and friendly service, look no further than Tempo!
Tempo is really a hidden gem in Nashville. I Say hidden because I lived down the street from them for a few years before I realized they existed, but once I learned 🙌🏽
I go every week. I love that they greet me like I’m a friend or cousin. The coffee is consistently good. I love the breakfast tacos. Specifically the tortillas! So good. Every now and then my potato taco is a little too salty or something weird. But the success rate is about 96% and that’s a win in my book.
In the summer time, the agua fresca was TO DIE FOR! I’m a person who always gets the same thing, but when they add new fun things to the menu, I always try it and it’s always great.
As a Nashville transplant from the Houston area, I’ve really been missing some of the food from back home. Tempo’s breakfast tacos are just what I needed. The flavors, the textures, the tortillas… if you haven’t been here, you’re missing out. While I came here for the tacos, I am loving the coffee just as much. Between the great food and the kind staff, I’ll definitely be back!
The Mexican Mocha was good, & do the company! My guest, or host, also got tacos..which were tasty
