I've always considered this the no frills basic breakfast eatery in town. The chicken and waffles were delicious, and the bacon was done very well. Prices are reasonable and a better bang for the buck than the very limited breakfast alternatives here in New Bern.
Such a a fabulous restaurant! The menu is varied - you can order food for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. The prices are quite reasonable too. The staff is very friendly (gave us complimentary fresh donut holes - Yum!). All the desserts are delicious and homemade. We were greeted by the owner. She was very sweet and gracious - made us feel welcome. If you want a pleasant and tasty dining experience while in New Bern, be sure to stop by the Country Biscuit!
I only gave 5 stars because there is not an option for 10 stars! By far, the best breakfast I have ever eaten in a restaurant. And the sweetest human being took my order. I have tried a few lunch things here and they are fabulous as well.

Brought my family here Saturday. They loved it as much as I did. We met Tracey and she was awesome as well. The staff and owner here are so warm and welcoming.
Kathy is super nice. The food is very well portioned and tasty. Atmosphere is a bit like a diner situation, which I'm a huge fan of. Will definitely be back.

We stopped here on the way to the airport. Breakfast was good, reasonable priced, and waitress was lovely. Can't wait to get one of these donuts next time!
A wonderful little local business with down to earth service where the manager will probably stop by and see how things are going. You must have their biscuits they truly are terrific. I wanted a customized order and it was no problem for them. Also you may get a chance to see their little automated delivery robot working with the waitress helping out. A must stop if you are in town.

Best sausage gravy I've found in NC. Biscuits were consistent. Bacon was good.
My wife loved the sausage. Eggs were good, but she forgot to ask for cheese.
Place is older but well maintained and clean.

They allow our men’s Bible study group every Thursday morning. Good fellowship with great food as well. Business is owned by a veteran and she is very accommodating to our group.

Absolutely delicious, and great service. I had the Carolina egg Benedict, with a pancake. So good! It was our first time there. The waitress was so sweet and gave us donuts holes to go. We will be definitely recommend Country biscuits to our friends and will bring our family back.
We’re from Texas and my husband is a big breakfast person, LOVES biscuits and gravy so he saw this while searching and decided to bring the family here. It was a hit to say the least, atmosphere is cozy and cute. Staff; extremely friendly, we felt so welcomed and everyone is just so happy!! Now the food, food was amazing, even the kids bear pancakes are huge, so huge they probably could have split it. They have donut biscuits and they are soooo delicious, they even had a robot that plays music and serves food, truly a great experience in a cute little breakfast place. Would love to bring this place back to Texas for sure. When we told them we were from out of town they gave us history on New Bern and the awesome places to check out. Would definitely recommend this place over and over!

UPDATE: I visited here again on a Sunday morning. The place was busy with locals and you could tell this is their place to be on Sunday mornings. The staff is always happy and friendly. The owner is spectacular and is very hands on. She take compliments and critiques very well and is always looking for ways to improve the business. This was the first time I tried the biscuit donuts I've been hearing so much about!!! They are on point. I'd recommend the "donut holes" They are cute and so tasty. Check this place out for breakfast next time you're in town!
My parents and I came here for breakfast after church one Sunday and it was MY first visit. My parents go often and have told me how good the food is. They weren't joking! It is very "country" in the best way possible! The food is cooked to order and is as close to a home cooked breakfast you're going to get outside of grandma's kitchen. The staff is all friendly and treat you like family when you come in. When you're ready for a big hardy country breakfast visit The Country Biscuit.
Was very reluctant to come here as not too much of a fan of biscuits but I'm so glad I came. Not only was the biscuits delicious but my entire breakfast as delicious. We also had great customer service. My sister and I will definitely come back.
I tried to go to bakers kitchen this morning but I was welcomed with a 25-30 minute wait for just me.
I came to this restaurant and I’m glad I did. I was able to seat myself and I was promptly welcomed by staff to get my drink. The food was abundant and fantastic. If I eat breakfast out, this will be where you will find me. Thoroughly impressed with the staff and amount of food for the price.
This place is the hidden gem of New Bern. The staff was amazing, the food was great, and abundant. My food was brought to me by a robot, a freaking robot! Then the bill came, and I don't remember the last time I paid less than $50 to feed my family of 4. This is a must stop place if you are ever in a 50 mile radius. Go now.
1st time here. Seated immediately, drinks ordered and delivered promptly. Plate was simple but tasty. Plenty to choose from, were well described, and tempting. The biscuits are obviously were its at and did not disappoint. The grits were great. Omelet, again, was simple but that's the way they should be. Service was good, though we saw her less and less as the place filled up. Highly suggest an early arrival. I imagine this place is hopping around 9am on a weekend. Overall very good and lived up to expectations. Cheers.
If you are in the historic area of New Bern and want a great breakfast, you should check this place out. I tried them out today and it was very good. I call it home cooking with superb biscuits.
