This is the best place in James City to grab lunch. The manager is always friendly. The wait staff is always smiling and great with the customers. The food is wonderful...always cooked to perfection. If you want a reasonable place to eat price wise and you want to be in an awesome, friendly environment then Hwy 55 in James City is the place to be.

Hwy 55 is really good. The food is great all American cuisine with a great diner taste. I had the "Andy" size Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries and a Hot Dog. All three items were really fabulous. Great hot and juicy. I especially enjoyed red hit dog served on a fresh baked roll. Great service too! Only downside is its a little dirty. But sure it's safe. And Pepsi products on tap ....yuck. Other than that check them out great prices and good food .
Andy's has great fries and their shakes are awesome, but not very many vegetarian options. Which can bad when the rest of the family wants to eat there. But I still love (most) of their food!

The colors, music and decor are a definite throwback to an earlier time. Plenty of seating and super friendly staff round out a decent meal. It's an open floor plan so the kitchen is visible which gives good comfort to those worried about cleanliness, which this place just edges on accomplishing. Great stop for a quick bite but easy to miss because of its location.
Speedy service, professional and above all delicious food and delightful atmosphere. I would highly recommend this particular highway 55 to anyone who loves great burgers and friendly staff and waitresses. Justin went above and beyond to make sure our experience was pleasant. Overall this was my best lunch in a long time thanks to everyone that works at this restaurant ! Will definitely be back for more !!!!!
Order lunch today and had it delivered to my office today from the James City location. We normally order from the New Bern store because it is closer to us. The last time we ordered from the New Bern store the food was awful 😕 and no one really ate. So today we took advantage of the deliver option at the James city location and the food was on point! Best cheeseburger I have had in a while and the delivery person was so sweet! So if your working like us and want some great food! Make sure to order from the James City store! Way to go team and keep up the great work!
Service was fast & food was great! Literally sat at bar & watched them make our food fresh to order in under 5 minutes! That's why it's one of our favorite places to eat! The waitresses were friendly, smiling & very attentive!
My husband Robert Cross Sr, my son Robert Jr and I went there tonight, we live in Havelock and in search of a good meal, been without power for 6 days, all is well because we are still alive.. They were super busy and customers constantly coming in. The service was amazing. Everyone was very friendly even in the midst of the busyness. They apologized for the wait, considering how slammed they were, I didn't think I waited that long. Thank you for a great meal and excellent service. God bless you!
The wife and I had lunch here, and as usual, it was Delicious! The wait staff were all very nice and attentive. We like the music playing and reminiscing about the old days of our youth.
My wife and I love the food! The staff is always friendly and helpful. They could use fly zappers and a 2nd wheelchair accessible parking space (used to have 2, now only ONE), but otherwise, a must do when we're here.
Food was ok.. generally delicious wait staff friendly may have been a new cook having a off day but he was Super friendly and courteous so I will certainly be back.. Clean facility as well.. wish they were still called Andy's.. but nonetheless this is the place to go for fresh burgers and worlds second best only to my own milk shakes... lemonade is great too
I am out of town was looking for a hamburger. I saw they had a cheesesteak. Ordered the small cheesesteak with provolone cheese. It was very good. Real fresh as well. They didnt have Pineapple so ordered a oreo and Reeses pieces milkshake. The shake was so thick, I had to eat it with a spoon. The fries were ok. I like mine super crisp. They weren't crispy at all. I will definitely go back. I want to try the Shrimp Po Boy! Staff was super nice! Thank you
The cooks that have been on staff during the day are incredibly fast. Best place to go during lunch if you need to be served quickly. Great burgers and shrimp. Friendly and helpful waitstaff.
Delicious quick food at a great price! Plus the staff is friendly! If you call ahead with your order you can even pick it up at their drive-thru window
