Atmosphere is a little stuffy but the staff are very cheerful and friendly. You might have to wait a little bit for your food to come out but I found that when my food did come out it was well worth the wait. I did enjoy the pizza I had their though I ran into more bread than toppings. My wife had the surf and turf and liked it very much. I think I could come back here on more of a formal dinner date at a later time.

I was pleasantly surprised to find another Gennaro's in New Braunfels because I had been so impressed with the one in Canyon Lake. The food at this location was impeccable! Creative. Flavorful. Authentic. However, service was a bit lacking. Although, I'll blame it on our post-pandemic environment, with servers running around in masks, trying to communicate without showing a smile or fully catching their breath. Our server was trying really hard to juggle a lot of tables. Our ticket got lost in the kitchen, which wasn't his fault. He noticed and came back out to take our order again. Then, I ordered coffee and a to-go box for the table bread (which was awesome) and it took about 30 minutes to brew and bring us coffee. I could see him dashing around with poise and professionalism tending to other tables the entire time. He wasn't lazy. He needed help. We finally got the coffee, which he didn't charge us for because of how long it took. And said he was returning with the to-go box soon. However, I drank my whole cup of coffee and got up to leave. He saw this and scrambled for the bar to get the box. I walked passed and bar and smiled and waved assuring him it was ok and that I understood. I did not fault him for this but I do fault management to a certain degree. Either support systems need work to enable the servers or they needed someone that can be pulled in to help when things are busy.

First time visiting Gennaro's. The place is super clean. Our hostess very polite. When we arrived there were few empty tables. We enjoyed our lunch. We order the margarita pizza for the little ones with kids water which arrived without a straw. Our next table had the same issue. Both we end up asking for straws. My fruit de Mari linguine was excellent. Our Caprese antipasti was good with the exception the balsamic vinegar. It's kind off dated (90's). The new trend is olive oil, authentic. Our desserts, chocolate mousse cake and Cannoli . Like a traditional Cannoli I was looking forward for the smooth creamy filling, instant of that it was full with mini chocolate chips . It wasn't my favorite. Looking forward to taste their other dishes and desserts. Atmosphere was really good. Staff polite and checking on the table if everything was ok.

The whole experience was amazing. We where meet with the hostess, who was sweet and sat us quickly (even though we where 30 min early). We had Derick who was an amazing server, recommend sweet white wine for me and a dry red for my husband. When I asked about the started with no seafood he was able to find something that went well with our wine. We got the capresa, tomatoes tasted fresh and orderedsweet. My husband got the parmigiana,it looked amazing and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I ordered the fiorentina it looked amazing thea colorful, spinach ravioli tasted a remarkable chicken was juicy and perfect.
