This place was a fantastic dining experience. Hostess was attentive, server was very well versed on the menu and helpful with guiding us through our many selections ( 2/3 of the menu for the five of us) and also very attentive. Food was simple with elegant components well executed and deliberate in their presence on the plate. Excellent price point for the quality If experience. If you are in New Orleans try this place.
Went for our Anniversary in March, and had one of our favorite meals, just meats on top of meats to no end. Bone marrow and pork belly apps and a pork on pork entree for 2. All amazing.
It was chartreuse night so we had lots of that, and we asked if they would slide us some extra shots of chartreuse down the bone like they used to and they happily obliged. The very nice busboy accidentally took our leftovers to the trash when we went out for a smoke, so they bought us one last drink.
We stumbled home happily and 9 months later our baby was born.
Probably will turn out an expensive dinner, overall, and maybe because of that last free drink, but we won't hold that against them.
5 star meal, 5 star lagniappe. See you next anniversary, but we'll probably try to drink ourselves to sleep this time.
We came in a little late and the staff was very accommodating. The food is phenomenal! The drinks are the best we have had in a restaurant. In a sense, it has made our trip in NOLA kind of a drag. All the places we eat at do not compare to the food, drinks and atmosphere of Meauxbar. The manager is a dead ringer of Peter Stormare.
My wife and I went years ago before they renovated. I like the atmosphere and decor better now. Quaint , low lit lively atmosphere. Burrata appetizer was great. Wife has the “grille cheese”, which was phenomenal and nothing like I’ve ever tasted. The Scollops were superb. Highly recommend Meaux Bar!
Absolutely delicious! Grilled cheese & hot roast beef sandwich is something not to be missed; banana & caramel dessert was different & yummy, not overly sweet. I will definitely return until I have sampled everything on this diverse menu. Location is convenient to Mahalia Jackson theatre, and a few blocks from the Saenger.
Had an incredible dinner at Meauxbar last night. Their gulf fish amandine is possibly the best meal I've ever had. Many thanks to our friends Brandon Baggett and Mark Leggett for recommending this fantastic restaurant. We will definitely be back.
I had brunch on Saturday and it was awesome! The apps were generous and delicious. Our barkeep Jillian was a superb mixologist and super knowledgeable of the local scene. The entrees came out and did not disappoint just crazy goodness bite after bite. All of the staff were super helpful and made us feel like royalty. I will come here again and again.
This place is so different on the inside compared to the outside. It is beautiful and has great staff. The food was so fresh and they even make their own sausage in house. Fun spins on NOLA classics! Would love to take my friends and family to this fabulous establishment on our next visit.
Great hospitality, wasn't too busy Saturday midday. Chilled by the window with a book. Does black tea for those of us not into coffee. The food is ecclectic and made a pleasant change from the usual suspects at breakfast time. Recommend booking for Sunday brunch as it gets busy. Staff kindly moved tables to squeeze me in.
It was one of the best experiences in fine dining we have ever had. The staff was exceptional and you will leave with the intention of coming back soon.
Friendly service and great food. Started with the escargot and had the hanger steak for my entree. Both were absolutely delicious. I'd recommend Meauxbar to anyone. I'll definitely be going back.
We come to New Orleans a couple times a year and a cocktail and dinner at Meauxbar is always a must. Every time our expectations are not only met but surpassed. Each dish is better than the last! The service is always impeccable! You can’t go wrong by walking through the doors.
Great service and great food! our server was so nice and the fish almondine was incredible
Great neighborhood bistro. Read about the bar online and was happy we made a reservation for Saturday brunch. Great service from Rachelle and Melissa. Food was delicious and looking forward to returning on our net visit to NOLA.
What a delicious brunch! We highly suggest trying the brunch menu that you can pick two items. It's an amazing deal, they are full size plates & yummy food! Loved that we found a local spot in the French Quarter.
This was one of the best meals we had while in Nola. The service was very good and friendly. I kind of wished we ate here one more time before we left. FYI: The popcorn isn't as good as it sounds.
The service was excellent. The escargo and pork belly were amazing. The popcorn had duck fat and somehow that was yummy too. The gnocchi and carpaccio were not my favorite though. Great ambience.
This was a recommendation from a local. I actually visited by myself because I needed some time alone to enjoy a fine dinner away from the "touristy" areas. It was an awesome place. Cozy ambiance. Cocktails on point. I enjoyed the escargot and the LA amadine fish ( which was a bit zesty for my liking, however that is a taste preference). Great staff also. I will visit again.
Meauxbar had been on the "to do" list for some time, and since we were coming into the French Quarter to help another friend celebrate his birthday, we decided to have Sunday brunch here first. My gin cocktail was listed under "Strange and Adventurous" and included green tea, shochu, loganberry, lemon, whey, cucumber and strega. Those ingredients might sound a little different, but the result was quite delicious! My friend had only the deviled eggs of the day and while we both enjoy garlic, they had a LOT of garlic. I had the Sweet Potato Hash with Duck Confit and a fried egg, which I enjoyed, but would have liked even more if the egg had been over easy so that the yolk would have mixed with the hash. Lindsay, our server, did a fine job.
My husband and I hunted down this restaurant specifically for the Yal-A-Mein. We were staying in an Airbnb only a few blocks away and saw this restaurant listed on eater and with this convenient location we thought it was worth a try! We are so glad that we went! We walked in on a Friday around 5 o'clock without a reservation. They were able to sit us at a table but also had a few open spots at the bar as well. The atmosphere was Gothic with classy revival and had a very cool modern New Orleans vibe.
We ordered the bone marrow appetizer that I think was around $15 and the Yak-A-Mein was 18 I believe. My husband lived in China for two years and has become a total Asian foodie and he was absolutely in love with the Yal-A-Mein. Saw where there was a happy hour menu listed as well with several of the appetizers highly discounted and a list of cocktails for five dollars. My husband had a Moscow Mule which he thought it tasted great and I had a drink that resembled a martini and it was great as well. Both drinks for five dollars which I thought was amazing price for a hand crafted cocktail especially in New Orleans.
Or wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly and the restaurant was well staffed and clean. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone especially if you need a day after too much fun cure!
Fantastic flavors, beautiful dishes, and an exciting winelist. Good service and charming decor as well.
Excellent service, from our waiter to the maitre-d. Drinks were interesting and delicious. The food was very good, albeit a little on the heavy side (even for New Orleans).
Delicious pain perdu (French toast) and crepes with seasonal fruit. And reasonably priced bottomless mimosas with bonus tinctures to customize your drink. Service was also great.
Excelent experience. We had a reservation. Food is amazing, service awesome and have a great time. Hightly recommended.
This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a very long time! There was not a single item we ordered which doesn't make my mouth water just to think about.
The sweet potato hash with duck and egg is unbelievable, service was impeccable, drinks are great! Highly recommend!!!
Delicious food and great staff. Away from the craziness of Bourbon Street right on Rampart.
Had a wonderful meal at Meauxbar. We had the hanger steak au poivre with parmesan frites as well as the chicken curry. Honestly, one of the best steaks I ever had!!
This is a beautiful restaurant with a great vibe. Service was exceptional.
Great little bistro on Rampart on the lakeside of the French Quarter. Scallops are always fresh and sweet. Red snapper nicely done. Good desserts!
This was the best meal I had on my stay in New Orleans. I had the special which was a crisp chicken breast atop biscuits with a garlic butter, and a light tomato based cream sauce with sauteed greens. It was exceptional, I let my server know it should definitely go on the main menu. My date had the steak frites and he said they were amazing. We came in time for the happy hour specials and I enjoyed a lovely daiquiri. We shared the creme brulee for dessert and it was a great finish to a fantastic experience. Nice ambiance here as well!
