The best shrimp remoulade in New Orleans, bar none. This is an old Italian restaurant that over many years has been absorbed into the culinary culture of New Orleans. It has some fabulous New Orleans Creole dishes. The turtle soup is a bit heavy for my tastes but is very much in the mainstream of what everyday New Orleanians love, with a roux to thicken it and rich seasonings. But if you want to try remoulade New Orleans style, you must come here. For dessert the milkyway pie is to die for.
Kevin is the best waiter ever! Food was great but, the service was even better! Thank you Kevin! My vote for waiter of the year!
Driving down the street, we found this authentic Cajun restaurant and decided to stop. It was a very pleasant experience. The food was delicious and though the restaurant was packed, our server, James, was very efficient and kept our drinks full without asking. Great food, great service! Would highly recommend.
We had a family outing and decided to eat at Mandina’s! The best decision ever! The fried oyster salad and the fried shrimp salad were amazing. The restaurant is always packed, the service is great and it has been a family staple since I was a little girl. Thanks for making our Saturday family day complete❤️
First time to visit New Orleans and I am so impressed with all of the food here! It was delicious and there was no leaving hungry from this packed restaurant! We will definitely be back for more meatballs and spaghetti ( my kids think it’s hilarious they say it that way and not spaghetti and meatballs ), shrimp remoulade, gumbo(!!), turtle soup, crab fingers ( oh my gosh yum) and trout almondine. Amazing !
Mandinas is always great, really local. One of the best turtle soups in the city. Overstuffed Po boys, fresh seafood, and our fav Italian spaghetti w meatballs. Bread pudding is a must too.
Creole eggplant with spaghetti/red gravy. Took half of it home, large portion, enough for two. Delicious.
Great food, good value for your $. Mufaletta was on point! Kids meals were as large as adult portions.

A New Orleans classic! Delicious food. Huge portions. Amazing service. Homey ambiance. And be sure to check out the “Katrina high water line” on the post by the bar. Whew! We’re all so glad you were able to come back, Mandina’s!
You can tell this place has soul. My friend found it for us as a fun casual dinner our last night in town. The food was exactly what we were looking for. Home cooked feeling. Ambiance was great. Nothing fancy about it and for sure the best fried shrimp I’ve ever had!!! Gumbo was amazing too. The portions were insane. It was such a shame I couldn’t finish it all!
All my years of living here and this was the very first time I've been to Mandina's. Oh, what I've been missing out all these years! The food was amazing and so was the service! Our waiter, Patrick was a pleasure to have, serving us, and his suggestions of what to order, were right on cue. Everything he suggested was amazing! The other servers were punctual and kept out table clear. Overall excellent service! We will definitely be coming back! Everything was top knotch!
Very delicious creole-style Italian restaurant which is very popular among local people. We waited for 30 minutes this month as well as last August.
It was worth dining out in using streetcar rather than visiting restaurants for tourists in french quarter.
Mandina’s Restaurant on Canal Street has been an institution in New Orleans as long as I can remember. The old-school Italian and creole dishes are some of the best around. This is a very casual environment with great service. Be sure to come hungry as the portions are huge.
We want seafood when visiting New Orleans and French bread. And the family restaurant didn't disappoint. There were plenty of options and huge portions. Great service and staff all helping to keep customers coming back. Try the bread pudding. Parking available and a few minutes from Downtown.
Casual but delicious. The crawfish étouffée, wedge salad, and po'boys were all delicious.
The best place in Nola to take a friends or family group ! Absolutely delicious tons of food, friendly patient service and a fun atmosphere. Please remember that the portions are humongous- even appetizers 😋
I absolutely love coming here. My favorite dish is the gulf fish almondine, and to finish with a custard at the end is perfection. 🤌🏻
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mandina's Restaurant in New Orleans. From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. The food was nothing short of amazing. It was authentic and full of flavor. There was plenty of it, so no one was left wanting. The team was great - friendly, helpful, and attentive. There was a great variety of dishes and of great quality.
All in all, I'd highly recommend Mandina's Restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal in New Orleans. It's definitely the best of the best.
Mandina's is a NOLA classic. Choose from seafood, creole and Italian masterpieces. Great service and great food!
My #1 Go-to-restaurant since I was a child in 1969‼️No other restaurant I've found consistently fry their delicate seafood as tasty as Mandinas every single time I eat here. My son took his Texas friends here during their visit to the city, and they said this was the best food they ate the whole trip. They have an amazing list of daily specials. It's so difficult to choose. His friends couldn't stop raving about it. I think they have the best po-boys in the city, too! The bread is always perfectly toasted. The tartar sauce and house dressing or homemade and to die for. The stuffed seafood items are delicious, and you can taste the filling and seasonings. They give you a lot of food and my girlfriend's and I took half of our lunch home, but we all wanted our own order. The best part is it's just as good the next day when you heat it up. You must try and you must go back and you must try everything 😋👌
The place was very busy on a Tuesday but the service was still quick and the food (chicken Parmesan & gumbo) was amazing. Even the next day.
Best authentic Italian food! This is a neighborhood gem! Staff always friendly and food delicious!
The food is absolutely amazing! The chicken parmesan is definitely our favorite thing to get here. It's the best that we have ever had! And our waiter Chris, was excellent! Definitely recommend!! Caesar salad was delicious! Shrimp remoulade. Appetizer samplers was great! And of course the chicken parm.
Unbelievable!
Had the Gulf Fish Meuniere from Dolly's reconstruction with Barqs from a long neck glass bottle... 😋😋
Highly recommend!
Awesome food, service and atmosphere!
This was a great spot to have lunch! The creole eggplant was a delicious surprise. And the bread pudding was a wonderful dessert!
I love this place. A NOLA staple. Everything about it shows the heritage of this family owned, Italian influenced spot. I believe it has been open over 90 years. Expect huge portions, Eggplant sticks are Fab, as are the onion rings. I have never seen a table that didn't have doggy bags leaving with them. Drew and Emily are wonderful servers. Oh and they make a great cocktail, if, you are so inclined.
