The service and the food were outstanding!
My family from California were visiting and I wanted them to experience a neighborhood restaurant with great seafood.
The fried catfish, crab cakes, and raw oysters blew them away!
My seafood platter was delicious.
The waitress was attentive and pleasant.
We were a table of 9 adults, a toddler and a preschooler.
My wife and I were down for the weekend celetrating our 18th Anniversary and we can to Frankie & Johnny's by a local suggestion....
Wow! is all i can say....
Great New Orleans food and a great price. We started out with the Crawfish balls and then we shared a Red Beans & Rice with Smoked Sausage and 3 Lbs. of Spicy Boiled Crawfish. There was plenty of food for the two of us (the Red Beans & Rice was massive) and everything tasted wonderful. While i realize i am in the heart of Cajun country and Crawfish country, i am also very particular about my crawfish, i want them hot and spicy with just the right amount of lemon and salt and these crawfish at Frankie & Johnny's didn't disappoint.
We will most definiately be back when we return. Don't miss out when you come into town. You won't be disappointed.....

Our bartender was wonderful! She was very attentive and took great care of my party of five! The gentleman in front of us shucking the oysters was also a sweetheart. Even though it was a packed restaurant, the staff really made it a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy a Sunday brunch. Thanks again! Will definitely recommend!
We wanted authentic New Orleans food with great atmosphere. THIS is it!
Shrimp Po Boy, beans n rice, onion rings n pepper rings, crab cake! Awesome!!
In A Nutshell:
-I came by Frankie & Johnny's for their highly rated crawfish, but just missed out by a week.
-That was a slight bummer, but you adapt & overcome.
-So after looking at their menu, I ordered some Grilled Shrimp w/ Potato Salad.
-That turned out to be very tasty, I enjoyed the flavorful shrimp & the potato salad was really good.
Overall, this is a neighborhood restaurant in Uptown NOLA where you can enjoy good food & have drinks at their bar.
When I visit NOLA I have made this neighborhood restaurant a regular stop. I enjoy everything about it. Food, staff and the cold đș. All of the food we ordered was delicious. Go for the grilled shrimp, Po Boy and gumbo. You will not be disappointed. Parking is available in a lot and the street!
Shout out to Nicola for providing us fantastic service!
Good time in the Big Easy! If you want a fun, somewhat locals joint to eat-I highly recommend! Spread out on a picnic table outside, have some nice frosty beers, and indulge in a good Low Country Boil! đŠ
It has been a while since we've been here. Heather was an awesome đ server and took very good care of us. Food was good and couldn't have asked for anything more
Met a local friend here at his suggestion. Good local neighborhood joint well outside the touristy area. We both got the red bans & rice. I got sausage while he got fried chicken with his. Tasted great and hit the spot, and nice hanging out in a neighborhood spot after eating most meals in fancy places in the French Quarter during my visit. Overall enjoyed the casual atmosphere.
The shrimp poboy was on point and the service was excellent. A much better value, service, and product than the poboy I had in the french quarter. I am glad I stopped at this place.

Great food, fair prices, ok service.
The draw to this spot is clearly the bold authentic flavors. After going to another spot for crawfish and not quite hitting the spot flavor-wise, we had to try again at Frankie & Johnnyâs. My cousin who doesnât like seafood had chicken parm, and even that was delicious.
Crawfish were packed with flavor, but the $5 âboil basketâ of 2 potatoes, a corn on the cob, and 2 hunks of sausage felt light. Grilled shrimp poboy, fried shrimp, and chicken strips were all delicious as well.
Our server seemed to be having a rough day or maybe she was at the end of her shift because she was not pleased with us.
The cocktail sauce is fresh and real. Those of you that like it from the bottle have been warned.
Really enjoyed our meal here. The gumbo, po-boy's and eggplant were fantastic. And I don't know where fried bell pepper rings have been my whole life, but WOW, I'm sure glad they're in it now!
The food was very good, but Heatherâs service was amazing! She was not only on point with spore and accuracy, but she sensed that a personal situation had arisen in out party, and she swooped with kindness, compassion, and a delicious dessert recommendation! Heatherâs demeanor and superior people skills made a bad situation much better. We will be back, and weâll definitely try to sit at Heatherâs table!
This place is and always has been an awesome place for lunch or dinner great daily specials the best po boys also you must absolutely get the onion rings. I forgot to take pictures but the food and the service was 100 percent on time. We love to bring friends here. I definitely recommend you give them a try you wonât be sorry
This was so good and exactly what I was looking to find on a trip to NOLA. Off the beaten path but not too far from touristy stuff. The spicy on the crawfish was great and the chicken and sausage gumbo was probably the best Iâve ever had. Great prices as well. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.
This place was so laid back, I loved the vibe. I had the gumbo and half shrimp po-boy, the portions were just right and was delicious! The roast beef and gravy fries was SO good. Oh and the margaritas đč were fantastic! One of the best I've tasted.
Fun little place off the beaten path in uptown NOLA. Walked here after a long warm day at the Audubon Zoo. The place was quaint and nostalgic with pictures and memorabilia on the walls. The boiled crawfish and fried catfish were delicious. Highly recommend.
Great experience at Frankie & Johnny's! The food was perfect! We had the seafood gumbo, onion ring and green bell pepper combo, red beans and rice with smoked sausage, and a half shrimp and half catfish poboy. Our server Samantha was the Best! She was so patient and helpful with us when ordering. I do not want to forget the delicious bread pudding! The Bread pudding is the a MUST!
I had the catfish platter and it was very fresh and well seasoned. My son and my friend had crayfish.
