OMG Toups South is Gem right outside the downtown area! Worth traveling to. The food was very delicious and creative. Everything was savory and flavorful. I really must recommend the bbq octopus. I mean who would have known it would be so good. The cinnamon roll was not over bearing and rich. The cracklings were salty and fresh. The only reason I’m giving a four instead of 5 is because they sold out of the steak and eggs. I definitely recommend this place!
Went here for Brunch Jazzfest weekend! Seated right away compared to other places that were 2 hour waits. Food was delicious and great portions. We did bottomless mimosa that were great. Gabe our server and his team were excellent. He was super helpful and attentive. We had such a great experience was surprised. For brunch do yourself a favor and order a cinnamon bun as an appetizer!

Wow! I've had my eye on this spot for a while, and finally visited on Ash Wednesday when my parents came to visit and wanted to have brunch or lunch, but almost every nice restaurant in the city was closed until dinner. We were blown away! We ordered a ton of food for the table...several small plates, entrees, and dessert. Literally everything that came to the table was amazing! Each dish was so good, it's hard to pick a favorite, but the cracklins, red fish, and flourless chocolate cake were the stand outs. Go. Eat. Here.
So fun! It was pretty slow when we were there, so my friend and I were the only diners at the counter surrounding the open kitchen. The chefs were nice enough to put up with our (constant) commentary and questions 😂 everything I tried was delicious, including my cute little mocktail.
Still talking about this restaurant a month later. The wait staff was polite while suggesting better organization of the order of service. All dishes were amazing. Still talking of then a month later.
Really enjoyed this place! The food is a creative take on some southern staples and the service is great! Sitting at the kitchen bar gives a great insight in how the kitchen is run and how your food is prepared.
Great quality food, but I would call it three dollar sign for the priciness instead of two dollar sign. Ordered the Stillness cocktail and the New York Strip with Garlic-Parmesan Frites. Tried some of my wife's fried chicken with the kale and sausage gratin.
The cocktail was very small for the price but tasted very good and had a good kick to it despite not tasting like it did. Steak frites was all delicious. Fried chicken was amazing, but the kale and sausage gratin was too salty. Overall happy with the meal, but the bill was heftier than I would have expected.
This is also not something I can criticize them for, but just as a note if you are here from Isaac Toups videos on Youtube, they do not really serve classic cajun food here. So just be notified.
Been keeping an eye on this spot the last few times in the city. Made my family have a late brunch there on St. Patty's Day. First of all the hospitality by all the staff is what will bring us back. Second the menu is so creative and tasty. The cocktail menu had us cracking up....I had The Easy Way made with Thunderbird, oh yes! The chef that day and my husband ended up working with another local chef early on in careers. Crazy fun!
Excellent service, setting and food! Highly recommend the crab salad, cracklings, boudin, and the oyster po boy. Everything ordered was fantastic. Home to the third oldest bar in New Orleans.
Sunday Brunch is BOMB!!!
Crab Fat butter on biscuits and Hash dish!
