It’s really hard to find decent Tex Mex/ Mexican food in this state. I’m not sure why, but most places I’ve tried are very bland. The flavors at Juan’s are excellent and I enjoyed my meal. Tried the Flying Burrito and it was packed with ingredients and tasted fantastic. Service was friendly and my food arrive promptly. Will be trying other menu items for sure.
Our Airbnb host recommended this place, and it did not disappoint! I had the taco salad and it was delicious. If you are in the area this is the a must stop!
Food was decent. I'm giving four stars mostly for service and atmosphere. Despite the Endymion parade starting in front of the business, we were seated and served fairly quickly. Margaritas were good. Salsa and chips were blah, the burritos were okay.
Excellent food. The Chips and Queso was a great appetizer and quite filling. Both orders of tacos were satisfying as well. We were seated quickly and didn’t have to wait long for our order to arrive. The restaurant has unique Mexican decor and it was relatively neat and organized.
I do not live in NOLA, but I make it a point to grab some food from Juan's every visit to the city. The food has changed a bit over time, probably due to staff changes over the years. I still love the food. The staff are always friendly.
Salsa chips were old. The rest of the food was great. The bartender was not having a good night. Buddy has to work on his facial expressions when dealing with customers. Gotta be customer friendly, especially if you're expecting tips. Bar was pretty dirty even though it was pretty slow. They ran out of mango, so my drink was super strong ..pros n cons. Never any parking.
This place is Unbelievable…We sat at the bar with Matt the bartender serving the best drinks during happy hour on this side of the Mississippi. We were tired of eating on the strip so we gave this place a shot. It was highly recommended by the locals and let me tell you. The food was great, the prices were very affordable and the hospitality and overall food quality was completely outstanding!!! Go check them out and enjoy a margarita during happy hour on me !!!
If you are like us and from out of town margaritas have to be ordered exactly how you want it made lol I didn't know and didn't get it like I prefer (frozen with sugar). Queso is spicy, homemade and hella good! I ordered nachos not realizing it was enough to feed more than just myself lol. Hubby got the flying burrito and it was huge! Great food, great atmosphere, and I love what they believe in!!!! Will definitely come back in the future!!!
Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent prices. Parking situation is terrible. The lot has about 25 spaces and about 20 of them are reserved for other places. If it is 6 or more people they add gratuity, but that just costs the servers money. Everyone is was with liked the margaritas.
The food was very tasty with good sized portions -- I had the cheese enchiladas and my partner had the street tacos in jerk chicken and adobo. The jerk chicken was incredible. The music was super loud, which I wasn't a fan of, and the servers were laid back, which I don't mind but some people don't like. There were a lot of drink specials and an abundance of vegetarian options on the menu, and eating gluten free was very easy. We'll definitely be back.
This place we visited was so delicious!! I loved the shrimp quesadillas and we got chips with queso an Fredy salsa was served with it to!to bad I don’t live in New Orleans or it would be a regular spot!!one thing I was bummed that the churros don’t have something sweet to dip it in or ice cream.
I ordered online and it was a very easy process. Food was ready in 10min with a confirmation email sent. Went inside and picked it up from the bar with no hassle. They practice social distancing both inside and outside. Downside is, there is definitely not enough parking. However, the food taste, price and portion size makes up for that. I definitely recommend this place but be careful with going during lunch hours, it can be very busy. Also, the entrance is on the side by the parking lot. Enjoy!
Excellent service and overall decent food. Only complain is the beef can sometimes be difficult to eat with a chewy texture. But overall great place and would recommend.
We stopped in last Saturday after the Jai Bhakti yoga festival. As usual the place was packed at 1 PM. We managed to get 1 seat at the bar and I stood. I had the pork and mango burrito and she had the street tacos (1 beef, 1 pork, 1 chicken) My burrito was excellent and she said the chicken taco was the best one. Oh and the guacamole was great as always.
This was my first time visiting Juan's Flying Burrito on Carrollton. The ambience and music was wonderful. My server was phenomenal!
I visiting during happy hour and ordered a simple margarita. The margarita wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order it again. Maybe it was the tequila used or mixer used. This coming from a tequila enthusiast.
I also ordered the chicken nachos. I loved finally visiting a spot that serves tacos and has sour cream! That was a plus. The chicken was seasoned well and very moist. The menu did state the type of cheese that they would be served with, but queso would have made this nachos a 10! I could tell the nachos and cheese were placed in an oven to melt and heat the nachos, thus some of them were a little burnt.
I'd visit Juan's Flying Burrito one more time and try a different margarita and a tacos or a burittos again. I can't say I recommend them based on this food and beverage. Yet.
Guac and Banh Mi tacos were good. Salsa was kind of sweet, even the one they said was the spicest, still pretty good though. Everything was flavorful , the restaurant was busy, not to the point of overwhelming thankfully. Drinks were nice. Overall a good time.
