Gabrielle is a sterling addition to our neighborhood. As an innkeeper who specializes in providing our guests with an authentic New Orleans experience, we are always happy to refer them to Gabrielle for a meal to remember. A welcoming atmosphere, superlative service, and, of course, the food, good memories are made in this restaurant.
The famous duck, shouldn't be missed. I'm partial to a bowl of quail gumbo followed by the steak, myself. It's all good. It's all well and good at Gabrielle. Best wishes to them for years of success. Gabrielle is an excellent neighbor.
Great experience. The she crab bisque was the best I ever had. The prices are so reasonable, especially since the portions are so generous. Beautiful decor and very comfortable atmosphere. The service is excellent. So happy Gabrielle is back again. The drinks are great too!!! Would highly recommend.
Had a wonderful meal at Gabrielle! Delicious cocktails! The Ponce de Lapin, a ground rabbit, duck liver, and grain stuffed rabbit belly, was extraordinary and the Slow Roasted Duck sublime! A comfortable, super friendly atmosphere, excellent service, and reasonable prices! I would like to return nighty until I eat everything on the menu! Then I would probably want to start all over again!
Southern hospitality at its finest. We sat at the bar. Marsh was very knowledgeable and passionate about New Orleans and the restaurant it’s self, so refreshing to see that kind of passion . The gumbo was off the chain! Simply delicious. Very awesome experience!
The pre-dinner cocktails were fabulous. The grilled shrimp salad was delicious and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. I had the fish, which was Drum. It was served with a stuffed mirliton. The fish was also perfectly cooked. The stuffed mirliton was delicious and paired well with the fish. For dessert, I had the chocolate with orange Creme brûlée. Amazing meal! I’m so glad they have reopened!
What a great local place to eat! Great wait staff and food.
Went for our anniversary dinner, with fond memories of pre Katrina meals. Couldn’t have been better. Service, food, drinks were all excellent. My only objection, and it’s a small one, is that at capacity the room is fairly loud, but cheerfully so, and that didn’t detract from our experience. In fact, as often happens, we had a good conversation with the table next to ours. Plan on being back soon.
The bisque was amazing and I can't stop thinking about it. Lovely space, great wine list, and good cocktails too. Go on Treat Yo Self!
Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Glad to have this place back on the map.
One of my favorite restaurants in NOLA. It is the JOY of dining. Everything on the menu is delicious, best duck ever. Thank you Sonnier family for your fabulous food experience!
Delicious meal from the first sip of our cocktail to the last bite of of dessert!
We had a great time and the food and service were excellent (even if I did wait tables at the original on Esplanade - those were some good times). Thanks for the wonderful meal Bubba Greg Sonnier and for the banana cake and mango pie, Mary Sonnier.
I've had two delicious meals at Gabrielle since they opened at the end of September. I'm already planning my next trip back. Food, drink, atmosphere, and staff were all wonderful!
Dined at Gabrielle for the first time last night and I absolutely loved it. Chef Greg and Mary have a first class restaurant in New Orleans. Excellent food, wonderful service and great atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back!
The return to Gabrielle Restaurant has been a long time coming, and it was well worth the wait! I'm a NOLA native and live in Atlanta now. I made a special trip to be there and see this culinary gem reopen. The She-Crab Bisque was to die for and Traiteur Fish was DELICIOUS! I finished off my meal with Chef Greg's peppermint ice cream! Can't wait to get back for an encore!

Love the ambiance of this restaurant from the white table cloths to the decanter light fixtures. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The specialty drinks were amazing and the FOOD was delectable!!!
You will be dreaming of the she crab bisque , Oysters Gabbie , Warm Goat Cheese Salad & peppermint pattie! So loved this menu years ago , and it endures with new energy, flare & creativity. BRAVO !
The dining space is small, the neighborhood is questionable and parking is a bit janky. But with that said, the charm, coziness and customer service balanced things out. There was a host of items on the menu that were premade with pork, which was a little limiting. But I really enjoyed the BBQ shrimp pie which was simultaneously sweet and savory. My favorite of all the dishes tried. They have an interesting take on bread pudding, where they add apples. I wasn't a huge fan. But overall, the food and cocktails were good and the space was really inviting.
Wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere, wonderful service! Our waiter, Batenda was so friendly and made great recommendations. I tried their Gumbo and their famous BBQ Shrimp pie and they were delicious! The staff was very friendly and warm when we entered and left the restaurant as well. Talk about southern hospitality!
What an incredible restaurant.
I love the exterior vibe of the aesthetic. Inside, it felt very warm and cozy. Like your favorite neighborhood spot.
The food here is insane. Everything I ordered tasted so fresh and you can tell they have amazing cooks here because the food was prepared so well.
Don’t skip desserts when you visit. If they have the white chocolate pound cake, you must order it.
Absolutely phenomenal.
Perfect place for a date night/special occasion. Off the beaten path, but so worth it.
The bbq shrimp pie is top notch.
The duck fries are AMAZING!!! We ordered 2 baskets! The best fries I’ve ever had.
The gumbo is amazing. Everyone loved their entrees. Our waiter was great.
Will definitely return.
10/10
Great food and service. We had the warm goat cheese salad and the Oyster starter to share. I had the duck and my companion had the fish. We split the peppermint patty for dessert.
The food was very yummy and delicious! Order the BBQ Shrimp pie! Very very yummy!
I’m only rating 4/5 stars because we felt obligated to order more, as my husband and I shared 4 courses to try as many things as possible. We also did not order alcohol as we do not drink so we ordered mocktails. We kind of felt like the staff were a bit condescending because we weren’t buying more
Went here with two coworkers on a Tuesday and I did make a reservation. Beware that this restaurant is located in a 'run-down' neighborhood so parking is a bit tricky so your best bet is to Uber here! Do make a reservation as this place gets packed. It's a family-owned and run so it provides great welcoming atmosphere. A loaf of fresh warm bread welcomes you as you await for your entre. We ordered the fish on a crab cake and served with corn and snap peas - it was really tasty and fresh. Then we also ordered the duck per the server's recommendation, this was also great. We had nothing left on the plate and we used the bread to scoop out the last bit of juice on our plates. This place really deserves a 4.5 star and the only thing that nicks it from a full 5 star is the bread pudding, which was rather a disappointment. The chocolate chip pecan pie is a must so do leave some space for dessert!
Gabrielle is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in the city. A must have whenever I am home visiting my family. Start with the BBQ Shrimp Pie because it is LIFE!!! The double cut pork chop is like "butta". Gabrielle never disappoints and the service is always wonderful.
I love Gabrielle's! Consistently high quality: service, ambience, and food. You will love the bar chef, too! Superb rye Manhattans, with Luxardo cherry. Duck pate to die for, as well as the slow roasted duck. Go there.😎
This restaurant is incredible! This is a small, beautiful and quaint restaurant. We had the trout with crab enchilada, veal, and lamb chops. Every item was perfect. The service from Nelson was superb! I highly recommend this place while in NOLA.
Professional waitstaff. Beautifully presented foods. Amazing selection of Jazz and Heritage Fest posters. Consistently excellent experience!
The Gabrielle Restaurant is a wonderful spot to have a charming meal. We made a reservation, and my wife and I were eagerly anticipating our dining time. When you initially arrive, you could be taken aback because the location doesn't have any commercial possibilities but rather looks like a residence. When we arrived, they quickly seated us. A special thanks to Nelson, who did a fantastic job of serving us. He was really accommodating and made us feel at home. The cuisine was outstanding. This eatery is highly recommended.
Great food worth going off the beaten path for. It's the kind of food you remember for a long time. The duck and gumbo are fantastic!
A hidden gem that not many people know about. The restaurant is quiet which is nice for hearing others talk and the decor is cute and intimate. The lobster ravioli was so good, I loved the sauce. You also get a free warm bread for the table.
Come a stranger, leave as a friend. They make you feel like you belong. The service is welcoming, even after the restaurant closes and you're still eating. Their daiquiri is made with local NOLA rum and has a distinct taste. The rabbit on the appetizer menu is to die for. I loved everything they suggested...including the fabulous lemon chess box pie.
An absolute treat. One of the best meals my wife and I have ever eaten. We cannot recommend this place enough!
Food was amazing, service impeccable , off the Beaton path. Was easy to get in truly a hidden gem my favorite kind s of place every city has them . This is truly one
Great Creole-inspired dishes using fresh local ingredients. Friendly, efficient service. Convivial ambiance.
