This was my wife’s and my first time to dine here and I couldn’t be more pleased... we loved it. From the wonderful shrimp toast to start... followed by fresh salads... and then a perfectly grilled red fish and a creative bologna sandwich... to the final desserts... buttermilk sorbet and chocolate ice cream.... everything tasted delicious! Our server, Emily, was especially gracious and attentive. I must add the selection of whiskey and bourbon is stellar, as well as excellent wines and spirits. Cheers!
Excellent food and service in a lovely atmosphere. I loved the shrimp toast appetizer and the Tuesday night special "lobster roll" with house made chips. Interesting, varied menu besides.
Came here from out of town and the food and service was terrific! Sal, the manager, was very nice and even brought us extra bread, which is so warm and tasty. Our drinks were delicious and there was a great selection of wine, whiskey and beer. I had the heirloom tomato salad which was to die for. My friends got oysters and the short ribs. Will definitely be back here next time I'm in town!!
Kenton's is located on a quiet corner of Magazine Street near Audubon Park. The outdoor tables are a pleasant location for a leisurely NOLA lunch on a warm afternoon. The menu for lunch is limited but has something for everyone. Needless to say the waiter was very accommodating and had the chef prepare a special salad request for our party. I especially loved the District 3 oysters from St Bernards Parish which were full bodied and delicious. Hamburgers and salads were delicious too.
Very romantic spot for dinner. We really enjoyed the wood fired oysters. Add it your itinerary.
I have visited the bar...twice. Great service. Awesome burger with fries. The crispy grits appetizer is a must.
We went here for a friend's birthday. We loved it. We tried 2 appetizers, 3 separate entrees(several were the same item), two desserts, and roughly 10 different cocktails/whiskeys. Everything was excellent. Each food item and drink, as well as the service. Dishes never piled up, water was always full. And that music selection! My girlfriend and I have traveled all over, and our preference in music is not what's typically heard in Louisiana in general. Yet, we kept asking if someone had stolen our playlists off of our phones... Sorcery I say. Great atmosphere.
Had such a great time here with my family. We pretty much stuffed ourselves because we just couldn't stop eating all of the delicious food. Their oysters are killer and every drink was crazy delicious. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great dinner! PS: it's very reasonably priced for the quality, atmosphere and service.
This place is wonderful and refreshing from the New Orleans eating scene. There is a smaller menu there, but with attention to each dish. Everything I tried over there was very flavorful! A couple of my favorites: the smoked trout salad and the chicken under a brick. Cocktails are also great here. Try the Old Fashion at Kenton's, it is one of the best place in town to get one.
GREAT food. TERRIBLE pours. don't order straight alcohol unless you want to be pissed off haha. the food is really good though.
I had:
- The oysters with the jalapeno--amazing!
- The shrimp entree--delicious!
- I tasted a vegan dish that my mom requested, and it was KILLER! seems vegan friendly to me!
sorry, I can't remember the exact name of these dishes. everything was great though.
