My husband and two of my teenage grandsons ate there while in New Orleans. The best gumbo I have ever eaten. I would tell everyone to go here for the gumbo. Beers where to expensive $5.00 a bottle.

Gumbo Ya Ya was superb. The gumbo was delicious. Not spicy, just enough to give you that Orleans flavor. Great fresh fried okra. Everything was great. Cozy and clean. The big fat Burgers and turtle soup was soooo good too. Do visit when you are in Orleans.

Way better than it used to be when it was the Gumbo Pot. The chicken and sausage gumbo with jambalaya and a sprinkle of Tabasco, along with an Abita Amber were outstanding!

Gumbo Ya Ya has become a favorite for us. The food is always great. Zack was our server today and was excellent. As someone who tries to avoid gluten he was kind enough to check on a couple of items for me. We will definitely be back when in town again.

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Gumbo Ya-Ya, a restaurant in New Orleans. We were absolutely delighted by the authentic and tasty gumbo. The team at Gumbo Ya-Ya was great. The menu had a great variety of dishes to choose from. I could tell that the chefs put a lot of love into each dish. The atmosphere of Gumbo Ya-Ya was also great. It was relaxing and the decor was nice. The restaurant had a cozy, inviting vibe that I really enjoyed. Overall, my experience at Gumbo Ya-Ya was fantastic.

Great place! Stopped in to share some apps and have a couple of drinks. The service is great! I believe the bartender was Zach and our server who was also awesome was Brian. It was busy and understaffed but they both kicked butt and made it a good experience. The gator and Boudin balls were bomb! We also really liked the shrimp platter! Seafood gumbo was pretty good too. Definitely worth checking out.

Found this right by Jackson Square after a really busy morning and we were starving forlunch. Isaiah was our server and he was so nice and smiling even though it was short-staffed. Loved the pasta with shrimp and sausage! Loved the classic flavors of the city. Lovely patio and good view of steamboat.

I want to give a 5 because of overall flavors and amazing service, but the potatoes salad seemed to be from a container as opposed to a nearby location. I appreciated how he offered positive feedback about possible selections to help in decision making while also encouraging new palate experiences.

After spending a Saturday in the busy and very noisy streets of the quarter, my family was super lucky to find them gem of a restaurant. It’s tucked away so that it’s not too busy but also right where the action is. We were able to have a quiet delicious meal after a stressful walk. The atmosphere was lovely, the waiter, I believe his name was Brian, served us and was extremely friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful. The gumbo yaya and the seafood gumbo was delicious (and I know gumbo pretty well). The manager greeted us at some point as well. The place is also wheelchair accessible, which was extremely helpful for my mother. Many restaurants are not assessable in the area even if they say they are. Anyway I wanted to leave a nice review because the place really was genuinely the best part of our New Orleans trip that day.

The ambiance was interesting. The lifelike alligator on the wall was nice touch. The decors and wall for pic opportunities was great. The location is very near the Jackson Square. And you can stop over the neighbor shops/mall for while waiting for the order. I did get to bought magnets. While the others wait. ... The food was good. The price a bit high and service is good too. A bit laid-back. We had a lovely lunch. ...

My besties and I went to the Mardi Gras in New Orleans. We went to this very quaint restaurant named Gumbo Ya Ya. The restaurant is located near Jackson Square and it's surrounded by several other restaurants and stores. I had shrimp and grits and it was delicious, see pics. My friends had chicken/waffles, shrimp po boy and Gumbo ya ya with a side salad. Everyone loved their food except one friend who was not crazy about her shrimp and grits. The service was very good and our server Deyira was excellent. She was attentive and on point. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and it seems to be family oriented. Enjoy!!

The staff was so down to earth The food was so good, we had to take food to go. The bottomless mimosas was all love, they had different flavors and they refill like clock work and let you take a cup with you! Will definitely be back in February ☺️

(Visited 5/26/2019) This restaurant is located in the French Quarter, walking distance from our hotel room. We arrived for lunch and the host told us there was a 20min wait. We waited for about 15 minutes outside in the patio area before we were seated. Once inside, several patrons were shocked to observe so many empty tables and didn't understand the need for the wait. Anyway, our server was attentive and friendly. We started with beignets stuffed with andouille sausage. They were slightly overcooked (batter was a little too crunchy), but they tasted delicious, especially when eaten with syrup! I ordered the traditional red beans n rice (which comes with a sausage link and buttermilk fried chicken tenders) and shrimp and grits. Everything tasted great, and the portions were plenty. I will definitely return to this establishment on my next trip to The Big Easy.

I really enjoyed this place. It's kinda ducked off as you would really have to be searching for it. It's definitely worth the visit. The staff was super friendly and very inviting. The gumbo was really good as I tried a twist on it. Instead of getting white rice I tried it with jambalaya rice which made it even better. Shout out to the waiter that recommended the idea though. It's definitely packed with flavor. I also tried the shrimp and grits which was pretty good as well. I really liked the spinach, sausages and the sauce that came with it. It really jazzed up the plate. A good spot to try.

We stopped by this gumbo place as we were walking toward the French Quarter. It was supposed to be a 30 minute wait but we were seated in about 10 mins. We ordered a seven steaks gumbo with jambalaya rice topping and a seafood and okra gumbo also with jambalaya rice topping for $6.50 each. It was a good portion, tasty, and filling. The view was very romantic and beautiful! And the service was fast and awesome - Kori was our server!

We had fried alligator bites for the first time. The bite were good and well flavoured. The burger was well flavoured as well with sauteed onions and well done bacon. The seating was good and there is a rest room in the restaurant. Not all restaurants in that area have restrooms. The hostess was Louisiana nice and our waitress was very friendly. We received our order promptly and were given enough privacy to have fun but was also well attended to. The location on the river is convenient and keep with the unique old town style of NOLA.
