Walked over on my first day in New Orleans and greatly enjoyed my meal. I got the CM 12 and AP 14 to eat in the restaurant, and two banh mi to-go for lunches the next couple days. Everything was perfectly made and presented beautifully, and the flavors were so good. I absolutely hope to be back. Great experience.

Wonderful customer service, wonderful food. I was born and raised in Vietnam and know the authentic Vietnamese food. Don’t listen to those who cannot spell “Caucasian American and African American” in Vietnamese correctly and speculate this as the cause of the water-down flavor. The food here is authentic and delicious. Also ladies, it is Bánh Mì, not “bahn.”

This is a very clean restaurant with authentic flavors. The wonton with seafood special is excellent with a flavorful broth. Check the open hours because they are limited.

The beef stew and the chicken entree was excellent. We also ordered the Pao nam (beef well done). The broth was a bit bland and the meat was rubbery. It wasn't bad but not as good as the beef stew. The service was nice and the view from the windowside is great. Went back and had beef combo (~13). Spicy and tasty!

Great lunch and very friendly server. I got the shrimp pho and the Bo kho (Vietnamese beef stew)! Yum that broth was heavenly and not too spicy. The shrimp spring rolls were so fresh. So glad we came across this place.

After staying in NOLA for the weekend, we wanted to get some pho because we were craving something warm and hearty. The pho was simple and delicious. The spring rolls were also delicious and hit the spot. Everyone was super nice and helpful at the restaurant. Def recommend for people to visit!

Update: Their vermicelli bowls are amazing! Changing this review to 5 stars!! Pho was good, nothing super special about it, not a lot of brisket, one of them was entirely fat, and a little overpriced.

Absolutely amazing vegan pho, really delicious. I double checked that the broth is vegan, ordered with tofu. The pho was so hearty and filling, very tasty. Asked for extra limes and the sauces are on the side counter area grab however much you like. I also really enjoyed the salted preserved lime drink, it was so pulpy and sour/sweet flavor so delicious and refreshing. Really recommend it.

I needed a pho fix after a week of eating delicious Southern food and this place hit the mark. It's all about the broth, right? This place definitely has delicious broth with great aromatics and that silky bone broth feel. Service was friendly and quick. Serving size was good. I just wish that tripe could have been available. The owner (Ken?) explained that there wasn't much demand for it in this location and he didn't want to compromise with frozen tripe. There are pho-ing standards!

It's really nice inside. Employees were very nice as well. Pho wasn't as flavorful as I'm used to having, but broth was very clean. Spring rolls with shrimp/pork were freshly wrapped and were amazing. Tad to much fish sauce in peanut sauce. Otherwise, it was very tasty as well.

Amazing food! And the service was great. The server remembered us from the prior day that one of us was gluten free, and when we accidentally ordered a non-GF dish he came to our table to warn us then took it away and swapped it out with something else.

This place was super tasty, went in on a cold day for some pho and was not disappointed! The staff was super friendly and the food came out in just a few minutes (given it wasn’t very busy that day) and the food itself was delightful! (Not to mention very affordable) I’d definitely recommend giving it a go!

First, let me start off by saying the owner Karl and his wife was very welcoming and nice! My wife and I were in New Orleans for a short weekend trip staying in the French Quarters and decided after a couple of days of fried seafood, gumbo, crawfish, beignets and many other well delicous foods we decided to try this vietnamese place out. This is self service restaurant not full service but in a sense it felt like full service because the owners and workers kept asking us how we were doing and checking in to see how the food was. The inside decor is very modern and comfy. I like how the seatings are set up. The restaurant is next to one of the best teaching hospitals in the United States. Hence, not full service and the seats being set up in a way to accommodate rush hour. I live on the outskirts of Boston and eat all types of asian foods regularly. This place made me felt like I was back home. The pho and shrimp & pork spring rolls was delicious. To my surprise, their bun thi nuong (rice vermicelli with charred pork) with egg rolls was amazing. These three dishes felt like it was made specially to the way we liked even though we made no side requests. Again, this is not full service so no tip is required but you should tip if you think they're is doing a great job. We talked to Karl and his wife and they shared their life experiences and how the restaurant came to be here today. We learned a lot about the restaurant and the history behind it. It was a special moment we won't forget. This place is above a 5 stars but that's all I'm permitted to give. Thanks Pho Tau Bay for the delicious foods and experience! When we're back in town, there's no question this is on our top place to eat! Forgot to add one thing, the prices here is not expensive at all. It won't break the bank. We paid under $30 for an appetizer and two entrees.

I don’t think anything makes me happier than a bowl of noodles. Delicious broth coating perfect noodles. And if anyone knows about the Vietnamese iced coffee here, they are a very satisfied person. This was a familiar experience on our unfamiliar food journey through New Orleans. If you need a day of Asian comfort food to break up the Creolefest, do it here. The staff is also SUPER friendly.

A family favorite for literal decades! We have a hard to feed group, with carnivores, vegetarians, and a ton of food allergies/sensitivities. We can feed everyone happily, and your body feels good after eating.

Emeril was right about this place. I work just down the street and frequently come here for lunch. I always get one of the bahn mis. I highly recommend the Bahn Mi #12. Their pho is top-notch as well. Everything is reasonably priced. Pho Tau Bay is possibly the best spot to get Vietnamese in downtown Nola.
