I was excited to try Max Well. This was a part of New Orleans that I had not yet ventured into on my trip here, and I really loved the neighborhood.
The staff is very friendly. I was worried that it would be a bit busy on a Friday night, but it wasn't.
I ordered the Ravioli. I could tell that a lot of thought went into the preparation of the dish and that the ingredients were well-sourced. It only had three ravioli, which I was a bit surprised by, since the dish costs $20. It was very tasty and I enjoyed it.
However, I was still hungry when I was finished, so I ended up ordering the Greens. I REALLY loved that since it has pickled vegetables.
I had the Sweet Potato Pie for dessert, and that was OFF THE HOOK delicious.
The plating/presentation was that of a fine dining restaurant, not the fast casual restaurant that it is. I was so impressed; each dish looked like a work of art.
Random, but important (I think): The bathroom felt a bit messy and disorganized, which didn't seem to match the rest of the restaurant.
Overall, I did really love the food experience here, and I appreciated the detail that the staff put into the food. I will be coming back before I leave New Orleans!
Food was delicious and gorgeous. The plating was fine dining, which we were not expecting given the price and casual atmosphere. Not complaining, the presentation was stunning and it tasted even better! My family tried some of the leftovers and didn't even notice there was no meat. Also, the staff were super sweet. 100% will be going back, especially for the jalapeno cornbread!
This place feels like it’s primarily a juice and bowl place so the food was a very pleasant surprise. The presentation is above what’s expected and is very picture worthy if that’s your thing! Flavours in the dishes are unique and an interesting combination that’s hard to come by. Get a bowl for more bang for your buck, but if you want fancy photos opt for the large plates.
The crab cakes are a must! I stopped eating crab many years ago but these taste better than the real thing! This is truly a plant based restaurant as opposed to super processed vegan food. So manage your expectations. At the same time though, I’m not sure why my meal was called a lasagna. There were no obvious layers and tomato sauce would have been great. The texture was grainy (peas could have been soaked more?) but it tasted good. Just not a lasagna. The server was nice, the place was clean and it was nice to visit another part of New Orleans as well.
Very creative and unique dishes. Impressive presentation, tasty and healthy too. This is this a great addition to the New Orleans food scene.

Delightful vegan cafe with a neighborhood feel! Great for salads, "power" bowls, soups, fresh juices and tonics, healthy snacks, and flavorful plant based creations. Great prices and conveniently located on Magazine at the corner of Webster (between State Street and Henry Clay).
We really enjoyed the Nola Bowl, Sparta Bowl, Curried Cauliflower Broccoli Soup, Carrot Apple Ginger Juice, ACV Tonic, and jalapeno millet (mini) muffins. The Seed Crackers (usually paired with the Chickpea Salad) added a nice texture to the coconut milk based soup.
Staff also recommended the Hippie Salad. @Gambit recommends the California Salad and Banh Mi Bowl.
We really appreciated helpful tips and recommendations from staff on our first visit. Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu!

Amazing vegan and vegetarian options! La Bonita bowl and chickpea salad was especially yum...
Such a delightful spot! I had the bonita bowl and it was delicious! The service was friendly and the food was awesome! Definitely recommend this little gem!
The healthiest place i found to eat in New Orleans! This bowl was extremely filling and delicious 😀 Kind staff and quick service.
Great salads, loved their carrot turmeric soup and vegan chili
Lovely space with very large portions of tasty super foods. The interior is very calming and bright. The food is served in healthy portions, so you shouldn't worry about being hungry. They have suggested combos and I recommend trusting them. We tried the Sparta bowl and the Big Island salad with the menu suggestions. Both were excellent, and the again, the portions are large. Highly recommend especially if you're itching to try something meatless.
The food is all vegan, made in house and delicious! I really like the lentils and homemade salad dressings.
First visit and I really enjoyed it. Good service, friendly and comfortable seating.
