Amazing dinning experience, from the lighting, background music, service and most of all the food this place has an outstanding thing going on. The best fine dinning experience I have had in years.
The place was packed and I was lucky to fine a seat at the bar. From my observation at what others were eating I was in for a really good treat. I started off with the day boat scallops, perfect, then the ricotta cheese. WOW, the ricotta cheese was absolutely wonderful, I could sit here all night and eat this with a nice glass of wine. After that I followed up with pasta, it was a medium serving, but it was perfect, I had the Tagliatelle Bolognese Bianco, delizioso!!! But the highlight of the evening was the dessert the Hazelnut Chocolate Torta was heaven on a plate!!!
Service was 5 stars, the staff was professional, eager to please but not overbearing, they were very knowledgeable about the food and wines. I had asked them to pair my meal with wine, every glass they suggested went very well. They were more than happy to offer you a taste of their wines and explain it's history!
Outstanding experience, L'Artusi has reach a level of fine dinning that most restaurants want to achieve. It was a perfect evening, I did not want it to end. I'm still on cloud 9, can't wait to go back!
Hands down the best meal I have had in New York. The ambiance, the server, the efficiency of the entire night was spot on. The portions were just right. The flavor of everything from the appetizer to the main dish exploded with robust freshness that is unmatched anywhere else in the city. My bride and I ate well and left satisfied for under 70 dollars. Truly remarkable place and will be back very very soon...
We had been told to try this place. We were told it was a good restraint.
That was a giant understatement. This was the best experience we had in New York. From the second we walked in the door to the time we walked out the staff was amazing.
We had a 10:15 reservation, we were exhausted from the jet lag and showed up at 6:30 and explained we were exhausted but did not want to miss out in what we had heard about. We waited all of 2 minutes and prepared us 2 seats at the chefs table. From there it got better. The manager was walking around and stoped and talked with us recommended wines and cheeses to start with and even took my phone to charge it since my battery had died. The server came for our order and we told him to bring us what he thought was best. Luckily the veil chops were that evening special. I would never pick that off the menu but my god they were amazing. My wife got the chicken and said it was the best meal she had ever eaten.
We will probably take another trip to New York mainly just to come back here.
Amazing restaurant, amazing service. As a vegetarian they had several options for us and even gave us two items compliments of the chef. I would recommend this place 100%!!!
Loved our girls dinner here! Awesome waiter Martin made sure we loved our wine and had some great recommendations. The food was all divine and the place is gorgeous!! Highly recommended
awesome place, the workers are amazing , Food was delicious .. especially the octopus dish !
I've been here a number of times. Came tonight as a last minute, late night, decision. It's been at least 2 years since my last visit. Wow, I have waited too long. It is still one of the best, dare I say it, the best restaurant in the West Village. It is the most consistent in service, food, and ambiance.
Never disappoints food was amazing from appetizers to entrées .Outstanding pastas , one better than the other. Not overpriced like some New York City restaurants , this place is the real deal !
I have been coming to this restaurant for years... in my opinion it is hands down the best Italian food in NYC

Simply amazing..... best Italian in the city. You can not go wrong choosing this place to dine
Excellent attention, giving traditional flavors renewed with great quality of flavor and textures! Great place!!
Great food, wine, service. All in all a top notch place without pretension
The parpadelle with the wild boar was dope. Melissa was our server and she was very nice.
Amazing food, fabulous bartender and an unbelievable olive cake for dessert!
Food was amazing. Perfect mix of fresh ingredients and creative preparation. The staff is very attentive. This restaurant has superior management!!
The best. Fav in NYC. Food excellent service even better. Ahmon and anncheri
I am so happy with the experience I had at L’Artusi. I had a reservation for the outside patio but they were able to seat me at the bar instead. The bartender was so friendly and even though he was busy he made sure we were taken care of. The staff was all friendly and knew the menu well. The food was delicious, everything was fresh and seasoned to perfection. The seafood pasta I had was probably the best pasta outside of Italy. I also had the scallops and they were delicious. I highly recommend this place and hope to go back soon.
The best pasta I've ever had in my life.
The servers were so nice and the food was the best. I'm coming back here!
Olive oil cake and beet watermelon salad also were pretty good. I can't wait to try more food here. :)
Food, simple and fantastic. Service was some of the best I’ve experienced. Everything was accounted for and everyone met us with a smile. We sat at the counter facing the kitchen, and just watching the whole team work together, you can tell this is a well oiled machine.
Fantastic night. Thank you L’Artusi team!
Found a new fav restaurant, L’artusi! Their black pasta was on point with crab, Calabrian chili, garlic, tomatoes, and nori bread crumbs nomnom… sooo good! I’m obsessed with really good black pasta and they absolutely nailed it! I’m drooling just thinking about it lol.
They also have a unique spin on spaghetti without the red sauce which my husband really enjoyed. Most importantly, their staff was super awesome; great fun energy and amazing personalities all together. We came to eat for lunch on 11/9th as part of our anniversary celebration, and we sooo appreciate how friendly and welcoming the staff were.
Yes, it’s true they have very good food, but the staff absolutely make this establishment stand out! We fly to NYC at least once a year, and this restaurant will definitely be added to our automatic go-to! Can’t wait to go back!
We came here for our anniversary and it is gorgeous!
Super friendly and informative staff (they even gifted us with complimentary champagne and a delicious creamy cheese, peach and buttery cracker dish that blew our minds!)
The food was great, the flavour combinations were things I’ve never experienced and was a really nice memory for our anniversary.
Would highly recommend and we will return for sure.
Great food, had one of the salads as a lighter option, the corn and the chocolate cake and olive oil cake for dessert.
The salad was fantastic and so was the chocolate cake (a rich and dense sin that you can only eat once a week), the olive oil cake is moist and scrumptious, goes extremely well with the raisins and mousse. Wasn’t a big fan of the corn though, it was spicy and had some sour taste to it. Pricing is not cheap yet moderate and the outside area is quite nice to sit in.
Stumbled by this restaurant at opening and nabbed a seat at the bar with an intimate view of the efficiently run kitchen. The menu was concise and just creative enough. Food came out quick, the staff were warm and welcoming. Overall an excellent meal.
Positives: this place is sooooooo extremely cozy. The service was sublime! We didn’t have reservations but we’re able to sit at the bar. MAKE A RESERVATION if you want to sit In the dining room. That said we went for brunch and we’re there just a few mins into opening.
We ordered the hanger steak, cacio e Pepe, olive oil cake with a meet cute and pear something…the name escapes me.
The steak was wonderful and the crispy potatoes are crispy in all the right areas. The cacio e Pepe was peppery and smooth. The noodles has a great bite to them. The way homemade pasta has. I could’ve eaten another bowl. The olive oil cake was a risk for us and surprised both my husband and I. The crème fraise and what I think were honey covered raisins were the perfect pairing for the olive oil cake. You WILL NOT takes the olive oil but the cake will be crumbly and mouse in the best of ways.
Cons: sitting at the bar the music was too loud for me personally. It was difficult to hear my husband talking while seated next to me. That said…the volume in the main dining area could be different and don’t let this ONE negative deter you from coming here.
100% RECOMMENDED. One of the best, again. It was the ‘correct’ authentic carbonara. Not too cheesy, just the right balance of taste and texture. Roasted mushroom was also delicious and scentful. OLIVE OUL cake was undeniably unique, delicate, delightful. Cant miss at New York!
Absolutely amazed by the creativeness of each dish and they are all very savory. Service was superb too. This experience was way better than many Michelin starred restaurants.
It's a very busy restaurant usually the wait is ~30-45 min. The food here was amazing I loves everything we ordered. I personally really enjoyed the corn dish and the mushroom dish (pasta was great too but I like the other two more). The only complain I had was that the restaurant was a little too loud and seats were too crowded, not a very pleasant dining environment. Overall, it's a great restaurant but I'd avoid busy hours to enjoy my meal more.
Love this restaurant, the atmosphere is good, not to loud, cocktails on point not too sweet. The staff is attentive they always smile to you. I really like the food. Love the desserts. The only reason I’m giving 4 starts is the flavor of the Cacio E Pepe (I won’t ordered again) had to put a lot of Parmesan cheese on it to cover the fatty taste, was so greasy it taste like pure oil. But I’ll definitely will come again to this restaurant.
Best olive oil cake I’ve ever had - it’s a MUST order. Same with the roasted mushroom - served with fried egg, pancetta, chilies, and ricotta salata. Both pasta were delicious - cooked Al dente, creamy, fresh, lots of flavor.
We got lucky with a last minute cancellation and got a table for 2 for a reasonably timed dinner. Came out to be about $80 per person after tax and tip for food and a glass of wine.
The food here was so good. Definitely took me back to Italy. The desert was amazing! Their coffee martini was a perfect touch to the desert course.
Refreshing exquisite place for Italian tastes.
Originally booked for 2 but unfortunately my guest fell under the weather so ended up going alone for lunch. The front desk was super nice and gave me the option to keep the table which I happily did.
Appetizer: roasted mushrooms
Most umami thing I tasted for a while I would say. There are 4 types of mushrooms and I tasted fried bits of chili and pancetta, which together with shredded aged ricotta, is one indulgence on its own, let along the sunny side up egg! The crunchiness from pancetta+ tenderness from mushroom + savory and spice from chili and peppers + creaminess from the egg yolk = my ultimate happiness.
Pasta: bucatini Nero
Squid ink pasta with seafood topped with breadcrumbs. The pasta is great; the color really added some points for my appetite. Its flavor tasted really familiar to me so I spent couple of minutes digging in my memory: it reminds of the flavor profile from supreme pizza (no kidding). Large chunks of crab and tomato scattered on top of cooked pasta + sauce with a tiny acidity that evaluates the taste + breadcrumbs for texture. Fun, familiar, and addictive: I personally liked it, and I wonder what other pastas taste like now.
Dessert: Olive Oil Cake
Finally a place without tiramisu so I don’t have to make a hard choice. Love love love their pairings of olive oil cake. The cake is sprinkled with powdered sugar, paired with sugar syruped raisins and crème fraîche. Their pastry chef is a genius to pair the cake with crème fraîche! The olive oil cake itself tasted like a pound cake (unlike the fluffier one I had in Rezdora). It is good but not memorable, unless you eat with the raisin and the crème fraîche. It is the most bold and creamy crème fraîche I tasted. (They certainly didn’t skimp on fat content of these things). It leaves me wanting to come back for another round.
The servers were nice and the seatings are reasonably scattered. Still a bit tight between tables but manageable to not rub elbows. I will come back for more pasta and another round of mushroom and olive oil cake!
One of my favorite Italian spots in NYC. Cozy and lively ambience with solid service, nothing special but no complaints either.
The food was definitely the highlight as it should be! Amazing appetizers and amazing mains. Tagliatelle was my favorite, the noodles were bouncy and chewy, slightly more than al dente as I prefer. Their focaccia was also super delicious.
It's hard to pick favorites for Italian food in NYC, but if you're planning a date night, I would definitely recommend trying it out!
I went around 2 pm on a weekday. Ordered roasted mushrooms, tagliatelle, bucatini nero, and scallops. Indeed, their pasta hits the spot. The noodles were cooked perfectly which I loved. I couldn’t resist to scrape off the plate because their sauce was so delicious. Scallops were very fresh and tangy. They used corn puree as sauce which has good sweetness. Also, hon-shimeji mushrooms and swiss chard go well with the sauce and the scallops. It is must try!! Only thing was it took longer than I expected to have main dishes served. But everything else was lovely and their hospitality was also amazing.
