We sat at the bar and still were hoping to order a regular menu as that is possible in most restaurants. We were told only bar food was orderable. Then later, I saw other groups of people ordering the regular menus in the bar. Not sure what changed in 5 minutes. Why others were allowed while we were not? Prime rib was okay: the meat part was tender, but there were too many fat and stringy parts (you can see the picture- almost half of the meat was fat/stringy part). Lobster was okay. A bit too cold, but the horse radish sauce was good. The portion was pretty small. The ginger ale was good. For the two of us, the whole meal together cost about $100. Considering the price, the lobster salad was tiny (not to mention the level of service). Not sure if I would revisit it.

Excellent experience from start to finish. Legendary steak house in NYC. While waiting outside for our reservation we were checking out the menu. Several locals stopped by to mention it's the best place to eat in the city.. and that they've been eating there for 40+ years. Mahesh was an amazing server with very attentive service but also great recommendations. Would request him on our next visit. The 'taste of mutton' ($29) was the perfect portion @ 12oz as I just wanted to try and not get the full portion. Also a wonderful scotch and cognac list! The homemade carrot cake was also the perfect birthday dessert. Will return. 5 stars.

Recently I told myself I would only write a review on Google if it’s really worth it. This definitely falls within the list. Iconic steakhouse since the 1880s, rich not just in the flavours of its dishes but also its history and cultural origins. Needless to say the meat was legendary. Very tender and full of flavours. Would highly recommend their Porterhouse Steak and Legendary Mutton Chop! Really love the old school 1980/1990s ambience too with classic wooden fit out. Super satisfied☺️

Such a fun holiday dinner treat in a gorgeous and historic chophouse. The staff were classic old school NYC and we loved it. Great and accessible wine list. Mutton chops were fabulous. Creamed spinach rocked. NY strip was so so juicy with a tasty crust. Oysters Rockefeller were on point. Caesar was meh but that's OK! Dover sole with cream sauce was killer. Looking forward to my next visit already.

The lobster bisque is “full body”; the dry aged NY strip has intense meaty favor and wonderfully prepared. I should have ordered the red wine sauce so this was my mistake and only regret. The portion is quite large for me and luckily I came with an empty stomach skipping lunch that day. Great atmosphere for a nice dinner here as well! Must go here in NYC!

Doing research on New York steakhouses and substantial prices really set my expectations high for this restaurant. The mutton chop was especially praised by many. When I recieved my mutton chop, it was delicious; however, my expectations did not feel like they were met. I felt it could have been cooked more consistently (parts of the chop ranging from well done to medium rare), been more tender and more juicy. On the other hand, the prime rib was the star of the night. It was amazingly tender, marinated in a very flavourful jus. The service was exceptional and the restaurant was elegant and classy. Overall a good experience, with some room for improvement.

Celebrated an anniversary here! The food was amazing, all the appetizers were fantastic. Service was phenomenal. Drinks were quite tasty too. 4 stars are given because the steak was pretty mehh. It's the reason for the spot. If come back but I'll get all the apps again. I recommend the chicken wings, Cesar salad, and Brussels. The Mac and cheese was mediocre for me but my partner liked it.

Great steak house really classic look in side food was amazing honestly better than Wolfgang’s service was alright they weren’t too happy with our table it was a groomsman dinner we got a little excited lol. The other people in the restaurant weren’t to fond of us either but we didn’t let that bother us we ordered ribeye NY Strips mashed potatoes max and cheese creamy spinach you named it. We also had a custom menu for my best friend who’s getting married next year. Highly recommend to come with a couple of friends or a date night with girlfriend/wife
