Satisfying ample portions of fresh savory hummus, babaganoush, falafel and more! While the pita was warm, fluffy and tasty, it's a bit too thick and therefore we were bulked up sooner than expected. Would definitely be back when in this area...a solid and simple go to place, but get there early so as not to wait too long...though they turn the tables relatively quickly.

Hummus Place 305 Amsterdam Ave./74th, (212) 799-3335. L-D daily. Delicious Israeli food is served up in this tiny subterranean spot and it includes even the famous attitude. Several different kinds of hummus are on the menu—if you are indecisive you can order a sampling of them—but Masabacha, made with whole chick peas remains my favorite. Fava Hummus, made with fava beans and topped with a hard-boiled egg is probably the most unusual. All are served with really good plump housemade pitas.
Amazing. Fast service and tasty food. The roasted eggplant and the hummas were amazing staff very friendly and fast and efficent. Highly recomend visiting
Great place to go b4 heading to Beacon Theatre! Yummy homemade dishes with generous portions. Very affordable. Didn't expect the fresh mojitos to taste so delish! Quick & efficient service. Great appetizer specials.
Heavenly Hummus. My husband discovered this place by accident and what a happy accident it was. New York has an abundance of restaurants but still this place stands out. Great Vegetarian food, Mouth watering hummus dishes. Their hummus mushroom and shakshuka are to die for. And their Kadaif has become my eternal favorite. Do try their fruit nectars too, mango and peach are my personal favorites. Great ambience and service, always. They have about 5 branches in NY and the one on Macdougal Street is the smallest. You might find it difficult to find a seat around lunch time here. Price - very reasonable. Can't wait to go there again
Great lunch. Light and very healthy
Such a good idea.... Just awesome. I always end up just putting the pita bread aside and going to town on my bowl of plain old hummus with a spoon. People super nice. Lots of Hebrew, which is really cool. Not expensive. Thoroughly enjoyable, I can't get enough of that stuff.
Great healthy food, cosy atmosphere. Good lunch spot!
Loved it. Loved it!!!!! Great food better prices!! I can't wait to come again :-)

I thought the basic Hummus was good, a little too creamy for my taste but tasty. I preferred the one with the Fava Bean topping.
If you're craving for hummus, this is the place to go. It's one of the best I've ever had. The falafel was also delicious with a lot sauce. I'm not usually a fan of it, but this one made we want to have more. It was a great find for us since just found it off Google Maps as we were looking for a place for Hummus. We're so happy to have found the Hummus Place. One of the highlight or our trip. Thanks to the staff for the friendly service!
This place was a random pick for dinner and was disappointed when there was no meat on the menu.
Surprisingly all the dishes were delicious and we just ordered more and more.
Tried Eggplant shakshuka for the first time and it was good and it is similar to Indian eggplant curry with eggs.
Even though their fresh juice seems pricey, it’s totally worth trying.
A hidden gem (or maybe not) that’s well worth the experience for the price and quality alone. We came here after walking around the neighborhood and was able to get a seat right away on a Sunday evening. Everything was delicious and came out fresh. The wait was a little long but there were quite a few people out. Would highly recommend this place - can’t wait to come back soon!
Basic but serviceable atmosphere. Staff is friendly and efficient. I got the hummus platter. In description it sounds more modest than it is. It was huge.
It's about an hour after eating and I'm still super stuffed. And I didn't even finish it. Anyway, if you want your hummus fix head here
Great place with good options. Went in for a Sunday brunch. Got an eggplant shakshuka which tasted great. The quantity was great for the price and good for two people. Also got a hot house tea, a good combination with the food.
their brunch platters are amazing — generous portions for just $25 per person.
the place is small in a partially underground space. came in on sunday at opening time and there was plenty of tables and fast service.
got the shakshuka with eggplant and spinach and it was divine. excellent hummus as well.
At the Hummus Hub on the Upper West Side, chickpea dreams take the stage. This place, amid city chaos, promises creamy indulgence and hummus escapades. My boyfriend and I on a Saturday afternoon scored an outdoor table right away – a jackpot for any city dweller. Even though our waitress wasn't an example of great service, literally handed us napkins and spray to clean the table as we got seated, we didn't let it ruin our experience. Surrounded by friendly folks, the sun took the spotlight, officially marking its territory as brunch heaven. I opted for the Mallawach dish that won me over at $20 – an edible treasure trove. My boyfriend went for the Shakshuka thrill at $18 – eggs and spice galore. Each bite was full of flavor. Healthy and affordable – Free OJ and tea with your entree, what a bonus! NYC's secret culinary gem.
Quick as a New York minute, The Hummus Place is a NYC must!
Great restaurant!
The service was really good. The restaurant is small, by cozy.
We order the brunch menu, which includes a main dish + hummus + bread + salad + fries + coffee or tea + orange juice.
The shakshuka was AMAZING, as well as the hummus and the fries.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a breakfast option. Great food, great price and great service.
I am a fan of meditteraneandiet and extremely into hummus & babaganoush. We tried Hummus Place last week when we visited uwsnyc.
They are located at B1 and might be easy to miss. Surprisely, they have already been running for almost 20 years.
We shared Falafel Platter and 3 Meze Orders. The platter was served with various and delicious sides. It came with three pieces of pita which was served warm, soft and fluffy.
We got Cauliflower, Brussel Sproutsand Babaganoush as our 3 Meze Orders. It’s overall decent but the Brussel Sprouts were not our type.
Highly recommend the egg sabich sandwich. Very filling, tasty, and healthy. The sauce that came with the fries was great too.
Perfect for a New York quick bite. Hummus was delicious too, with a stronger hint of tahini.
