We were 2 people on Tuesday evening. The place was super busy, but we got a place on the bar after around 10 minutes only.
The place looks amazing from the inside, and the staff are super friendly.
The menu has a lot to offer, but yet, not too much. We took the ramen with the chicken.
It was absolutely delicious.
The dishes came in 5 minutes only.
I would say the place gets 4.8 stars, because:
1-There’s no waiting area, and you can’t make reservations. You stand next to the door until they call you.
2-We were cold because of the wind that came through the half opened door.
3-The place is super busy, which brings a lot of loud sounds of the guests...
Other than that, everything was super, and we will definitely go back for another round.
We had the most amazing time!! Monica our server was excellent, suggested the best food and absolutely made the experience. I have food allergies, and Monica told me exactly what to order and it was amazing! I would say this place is a must visit, for tourists and locals alike!
5 stars for this review is relative to the ramen cuisine. This is THE best ramen you will eat in the United States. So much flavor. I would eat every day.
We were seated almost immediately when we walked it. We got a nice seat at the bar where the duck tacos are prepared. The waitress was very helpful in helping us navigate the menu and the huge sake selection. My girlfriend ordered the mango matchasu cocktail (it was tasty) and I had a glass of the maboroshi served nurukan. This was one of the few experiences I've had with sake and probably my first with craft, but I enjoyed it a lot. Despite how yummy those duck tacos looked, we opted to skip appetizers and go right for the noodles. I had tonkatsu. It was delicious! The best ramen that I've had. The broth was so flavorful and the pork so tender. The noodles were still firm which was nice. This was a great experience and I would definitely go back because there is a lot more left that I want to try.
Incredible it was amazing every aspect of the meal from drinks to boa to ramen and it was an honor to be in the presence of Morimoto my only regret is that I didn't introduce myself he has mastered every aspect of that restaurant and definitely worth going back love the food the atmosphere and the decor.
We will definitely be coming back to this place. We had an excellent time, great food, and friendly staff. The only problem was that it was small and thus, felt tightly packed and crowded.
We had the best Gyoza, Tonkotsu, Tsukemen ever! Definitely worth checking out!!!
Came for a Sunday dinner with my son and his girlfriend, for appetizers we had the tetsunabe pork gyoza, deliciously made to perfection, mouthwatering softshell bao, savory tetsunabe kakuni, crispy mimiga is the best ever, and irrisistible chasu bap. For our noodles, we had my favorite tsukemen, of course is perfect, I love pork chasu, next time am gonna have them add more of the chasu. The tonkotsu soup is so good esp. in this freezing weather we have in NY. Tantan noodles has spice coconut curry that is so flavorful. Aside from their super delightful food, the staffs are very attentive to the customers, pleasant and move fast. Our orders can fast and freshly made...definitely momosan will always be my first choice to satisfy my ramen cravings
The best , hospitality great, food delicious, appetizers was excellent no way to have main course because the appetizers was great
This is my ULTIMATE favorite in NYC! The service provided by Johan is bar none the best of the best! He will treat you like a king/Queen! The Ramen is the best I’ve ever had. The spicy shrimp appetizer is phenomenal. Johan makes superb cocktails as well. Go there ASAP for a great dining experience!
This is the real deal.
Great ramen.
Great sake selection.
Add a little Rock & Roll music to liven things up and you’ve got Momosan.
Check it out!
🦐 $12 The shrimp is very delicious, generous in portion, and you get around 12. Its sauce is like yum yum sauce.
🍜 $17 The chicken noodle soup base is rich, with bamboo shoots and shredded wood ear mushrooms. The chicken is tender, and with each bite of soup and noodle, it's truly comforting 😌.
🍜 $17 The tan tan noodles have a rich flavor; no wonder it's a popular dish among the masses."
The food was amazing. The atmosphere was great. Service was perfect. The Ramen and Karaage were so good I burnt my mouth because I couldn’t resist eating while hot. Fire restaurant would recommend for anyone.
Being an ardent fan of ramen, my visit to Momosan left me thoroughly satisfied. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick and hassle-free, especially with a fantastic lunch special available during the week.
Opting for the TanTan ramen accompanied by a side of spicy tuna rolls and pot stickers, I was treated to a delightful combination bursting with incredible flavors. The creamy broth of the ramen was so rich and flavorful that I couldn't resist finishing every last drop.
The dining room had a charming and comfortable ambiance, and I particularly enjoyed sitting at the bar area, facing the street and indulging in some people-watching while relishing my lunch. I'm already looking forward to my next visit, eager to explore another enticing combination from their menu!
We for the lunch specials, each ramen came with a small appetizer for 20 bucks.
I got the tan tan noodles and it might have been one of the best I've ever had. Rich coconut milk broth with some slightly spicy beef. Even the sushi apps had really fresh tuna. Highly recommend this place and I will be back!
Great chewy noodles, delicious broth that is packed with flavor but not overly heavy, tasty toppings. As good as a bowl of ramen can get and perfect for cold days.
One of the better ramen spots in New York from my experience. This place serves the kind of hearty, traditional, and tasty ramen you’d expect and it’s done well.
I ordered a spicy Tonkotsu ramen which comes with all the main add-ins like pork, mushrooms, soft boiled egg and seaweed. The noodles were a thicker cut egg noodle but very tasty. The pork belly tasted delicious as well but when I first bit into it, the center was cold which tells me they prepared it earlier and just added it in to heat up. Besides that, the broth was amazing and everything came together well.
I walked in without a reservation and was seated right away at the bar. All in all, would recommend this spot for its ramen.
It’s a cute little ramen place walking distance from the grand central station. I liked the food and the service.
I wish my vegetable ramen was slightly spicier but other than that everything was great.
They have good lighting so that makes for great pictures lol
Sushi is fresh and always consistent. Ramen is delicious! Only one time our pork belly was too fatty and not crisp. Good drinks. Great service and pleasant atmosphere. Definitely our go to place when we are near Grand Central.
Spectacular. Had dinner tonight with family, great value for excellent food in a casual environment. Creative yet authentic. One of the few non-generic options in midtown. Very clear and meticulously careful commination about my allergy to mushrooms. I had the dipping ramen and softshell crab bao as a set. My partner had the spicy coconut milk ramen and fried chicken appetizer. My brother had the bap and edamame. All were well executed.
This place is the definition of comfort food. The service is top notch, good prices, the food is delicious and come out fast, the broth is rich and very flavorful. Top attention from Chef Danny. I can’t wait to come back.
For New York ramen, this place is very good. I liked how tender the pork was in the Tonkotsu ramen. The broth had a high level of richness and lots of flavor. I wish there were other lighter broth options to try like a shio or shoyu broth with meat rather than just miso vegetarian. Appetizers seem expensive here. The environment was very fun and could accommodate single diners at the bar.
Perfect place. There were a lot of people when I went there during the weekdays. It was crowded, but we didn't wait for a long time for the seat(around 10 minutes). The dish was sooo good. However, expect there may be a longer wait time for the ramen. Great place while hanging out with friends. Will visit again.
We had a great lunch here and loved everything we tried. The menu was small with a focus on Ramen.
The ramen was the best we've had anywhere. Rich, thick broth. Noodles with a bit of chew (good) and toppings that were top notch. Standout appetizers were the soft shell crab bao, sticky ribs, and kaarage. You could easily make a meal of the apps, if you aren't into Ramen.
The drinks were also great. My choice was the Morimoto Ale. Hazy, brown ale that was perfect for the meal. My wife's Yuzu Margarita was also delicious.
My only complaint was that the staff was eager for us to leave by their 3pm closing time. They were cleaning the table during our meal and made a last call at 2:30. Seemed rude to me.
I have dined here twice for lunch with my partner. A little pricey but totally worth it. The food is absolutely delicious. The only negative - on my second trip for lunch I ordered the same salmon rolls I had on my first visit (so good), and was told sorry we don't make that for lunch. Well I pressed them on this because not only did I have them for lunch the first time, but it is written right there on their lunch menu. To be fair I could have ordered something else, but IMO if you have not sold out of it, and have it on the lunch menus, you should provide that to your customers. Sure enough they made the rolls for me, so I'm not quite sure what the issue was. It was off putting to say the least. Other than that it was a good experience.
I wanted ramen so bad while visiting New York City and I am so glad this is the place I chose!
The negatives are that the place is too small to meet the demand and a bit warm with all the bodies loving their ramen.
With that out of the way I can say I had no idea this was a Chef Morimoto restaurant and that explains why there was a line of people willing to wait 30 minutes for the experience and it was so worth it!
The seating is a variety of bar, booth and community style.
The servers are friendly and knowledgeable.
We started with sake and kirin which was great!
My wife and I opted to do their appetizer and ramen combo. She got the tsukemen dipping ramen with edamame and seaweed salad. It was incredible and I’m glad she shared!
I opted for the pork gyoza and tan-tan. This was the best pork gyoza I have ever had and they bring it sizzling to your table. My tan-tan was excellent but I preferred my wife’s tsukemen.
So happy we came and can’t wait to come back when we visit New York again!
We had Johan as our server and he is AWESOME. Made the best drinks, sake shots and sangria. The food was stellar too— I would go back not only for the food but the cozy atmosphere and amazing service. I will absolutely be going back soon and recommending this place to all of my friends!
