Recommended by a friend and loved it. We stopped by before the ballet for dinner and ordered off the prixe fixe menu and everything was amazing. The chef brought out complimentary mushroom ravioli and that was so delicious! I've never tasted anything like it. Steak was small but filling and cooked perfect. The chocolate mousse cake was divine. Would love to come back and dine in the colored theme rooms.

Outstanding service and great wine selection. The prices are not too bad either. We made a reservation at 9pm and they treated us like royalty. The meat was cooked to perfection. Try the steak tartare (Note: it is raw meat, Google it first). You'll thank me later. They even gave us multiple desserts to try (I guess because it was around closing time). Will definitely be back.

The restaurant is near Lincoln Center, and not too far from the theatre district. The dining rooms are well decorated, not excessively noisy, and the seating is comfortable. The food is excellent. We had the price fixe dinner, which was $45. It featured a delicious salad, a nice portion of tenderloin, superbly cooked brussels sprouts and a baked apple pie/crisp with ice cream. Well worth the price. Service was impeccable, polite and attentive. A very traditional steakhouse feel, lots of timber and wine racks, and great steak to back it up. This place really lived up to expectations. Our service was also if a high quality. Don't get the donut and icecream dessert unless you're still very hungry (unlikely) and have run a marathon that day.

We went for restaurant week. Service was amazing. All staff was very attentive. I tried to top off my wine glass and someone came right over to do it. The hanger steak was cooked perfect. Canadian bacon appetizer was awesome. Steak tartare was incredible. They even brought over some complimentary mushroom ravioli which were good as well. Dessert was good too.

Delicious food and attentive, polite service made this a great choice for a birthday dinner. They even had the time that night to decorate a dessert treat in honor of the occasion. I loved everything I had, from wine and Ceasar salad, though a cooked-perfectly-as-ordered filet mignon and delicious sides. The creamed spinach was outstanding, whipped potatoes so creamy, and desserts lovely.

Overall a fulfilling experience during NYC Restaurant Week. The filet mignon textures were a bit interesting but still delicious. Having Twinkies as dessert was definitely an additional interesting touch. Our waiters were friendly and entertaining, and was knowledgeable in helping us making right choice Overall I will recommend this place.

what a beautiful restaurant. from the moment you walk in you feel as if you are family. from the hostess who greeted us by name without us giving it to her, (i assume going the extra mile to check the photo on Opentable reservations?) to the owner Bruno who was sitting next to us and offered his candle and flower to us, (his was nicer than ours) to the wait staff and the Sommelier who gave us fantastic service and deeeelicious wine. everybody was as kind and accommodating as could be. the food was phenomenal. the seafood tower, Caesar salad, amazing mushroom ravioli appetizer and the steaks were perfection...even better the next morning with my eggs :-) if you are celebrating a special occasion as i was, they present you with a special menu that wishes you a Happy Birthday, as well with dessert they come to your table and take a picture of you and they present that picture to you printed in a card as a keepsake. just AMAZING. i will definitely be back and i will absolutely recommend this new (3 years) neighborhood gem to any and all that ask .

Excellent restaurant. Went to celebrate a birthday and they really rolled out the red carpet. Balloon, cake, small taster dishes and photos. Never had such an experience at a restaurant. The food is also amazing. Worth every penny. The porter house was the best I've ever had.

Very pleasantly surprised by this place! I figured that it would be pretty good, but I really enjoyed it. I did the restaurant week special, and I ended up getting the Caesar salad, hanger steak, and the Twinkie. I really liked the steak and the Twinkie, while the salad was just alright. It wasn’t bad, but I’ve had significantly better Caesar salads elsewhere. The hanger steak was really good, and the mushrooms complemented it very nicely. The Twinkie was also really good, and so was the chocolate s’mores thing that they gave me. For the entire night, up until when we were waiting for our check, the service was great. However, it took a very long time to get our check, but that’s not really too big a deal since we were in no rush. All in all, I was pleased with my night here, and I’d be willing to go back!

Good steak well cooked, though slightly over charred. For some that could be the best and while I enjoy a good char I think it was a bit too much. I still ate quite a bit. Desert was good too. Service was a little slow despite being empty. But nothing that detracted majorly from the meal. Too many good steakhouses to say this is the best though.

Family friendly, GREAT food, atmosphere and attentive service. Good potions. Set menu comes with dessert and Beautiful bathrooms. Private rooms for large parties and assume have to rsvp. Some nights have live music with grand piano in the first room with the bar. Lovely decor. Bread is the best. STARTER: have the calamari and/or steak tartare. ENTREE: the fillet Mignon and/or hangar steak SIDES: Fries, Brussel sprouts, spinach DESSERT: tried all and like all but Twinkie cake is yummy. Good wine menu and ok if you don't drink (much). Make sure to RSVP if possible and If a special occasion, tell them in advance :) A few stairs at the entrance. Young kids friendly, best early or on weekends. Popular with locals. Would Recommend: Yes!

Great hospitality! The place is well decorated, and the service is really great. Even though the deserts are great, I found the meats to be just fine.

Starting with a super seafood appetizer (see photo) and succulent fried calamari that melted in your mouth, we knew this was going to be good and we were not disappointed. The porterhouse for 2 was to die for as was the corn pot pie! All the food was great all the way down to the desert. Wine choices are excellent. Service was impeccable. Wait staff and waiters were right on with table settings, wine choices and service. Jon was especially helpful with wine choices. Our compliments to the chef!

Good restaurant with a couple of menu options for kids as well. Live music, good food, and efficient staff. Of course it's still a nice restaurant, so thats not a ten dollar bowl of spaghetti your toddler is leaving half finished. #kidfriendly #gritsaresupreme
