Food was delicious and offered generous portions. Price was fair as well. We had the Summer Rolls with tofu (amazing!) and the Lemongrass Chicken (vermicelli) Bun (also amazing).
Small and cozy restaurant setting. Got there walking and grateful we did because parking is not so readily available but again, it’s NYC.
Highlight: PORK CHOPS!!!! Juicy and a bit smoky....tasted so good.
This is probably one of the most popular dining places in the NYU area, and I fully understand why after my visit.
We ordered Pho with Pork chops and pork chops sandwich. Their pho broth has a richer taste compared to other pho places, and the pork chops tasted JUST RIGHT 🥺
As a usual carrot hater, I was hesitant to try my friend's sandwich, so I wanted just one bite to try. To my surprise, I didn't really taste the strong carrot flavor but the taste of the crispy bread with mayo instead! Delicious ❤️🔥
The service was amazing too. We asked if the waitress could help charge my friends' phone, and she didn't hesitate to say yes.
Hope I can go back and try other stuff soon. :)
Very good. We had to wait 20 minutes approx to get seated, but the waiter who took our names at the entrance was very efficient at handling the crowd.
The food was very good. We had some fresh summer rolls, a Pho and a spicy brisket banh mi. Everything was very good, although I was a bit disappointed by the banh mi. Not that it wasn't good. It just didn't feel exotic enough.
But overall, a very good experience.
When we came on a rainy Saturday evening, the restaurant was full with a wait list. After 15 min, we were luckily seated.
The Vietnamese pho broth was good and the vermicelli has generous portions for around $15 each.
The service is quick. She didn't come to ask how we were doing, but the food came out quickly. Like many other New York restaurants, the tables are closely seated next to each other.
The restaurant accepts CASH ONLY.
Great local spot in the west village. It's small spot but the food is really good. The service is prompt. We were able to get a table fairly quickly. But it can be tight. Not good for larger crowds but party if 2 to 5 ok. We had classic bah-mi sandwich it totally worth it. Also spring rolls and two phos the classic and Saigon shack one.
I’ve been on the hunt in the city to find good Vietnamese comfort food that reminded of my spot in Dallas. I believe this is the winner “Saigon Shack” that serve bowls of pho that hit the soul on a warm day but so worth it.
- Fried Spring rolls
- Saigon Shack Pho (Gluten Free): Brisket, Thin sliced beef, & Beef Balls
- Brisket Pho (Gluten Free): classic bowl w/ quality brisket soaking the flavor
Very popular, we had to line up outside to get a spot. I was happy with the grilled pork chop, shrimp, and spring roll vermicelli bowl I ordered. The pork chop in particular was really flavourful. Good portion size, and definitely good value by Manhattan standards. Note that they accept cash and not card (although looking through the reviews, it sounds like it's also possible to pay via QR code? we paid cash).
The place is small but there are plenty of tables available! The food is absolutely amazing. I've never had Vietamese food but this was a great 1st experience. I would definitely go back. We asked one of the waiters what to get and he recommended us great plates!
I was craving pho and have heard this place is popular so decided to give it a try. There was definitely a line and a wait to get in on a Friday night but it moved fairly fast.
As some other reviews mentioned, they only take cash if you order off the menu with the wait staff. You can pay by card however if you instead use the QR code on your table to place your order on their online system and have it delivered to your table. I opted for this and everything came pretty fast.
The pho here is decent, the flavors are there of a traditional pho however coming from the Bay Area the soup wasn’t too special and lacked a bit of complexity to me.
I was looking for good pho place and my friend recommended me here. We ordered two classic beef pho and one bánh mi and it was enough for 3 people. Pho was good as expected, but bánh mi was really really good. Definitely recommend. One thing I didn’t like was the neighbor/location. Like I could smell weed from outside while eating. It was very nasty. Also I had to find the ATM since it’s cash only restaurant. Overall, I liked the food but wouldn’t really go back.
