After the candlelight vigil in Washington Sq Park for dolphins in Taiji, Japan, with three vegan/vegetarian friendly, I enjoy my food of Vegan Chicken Cutlet Sandwitch and it was TOP OF WORLD and it was very delicious food ever. They even share some food and vegan chicken was amazing. Good thing I save my $10 because I almost spent money for vegan option in Albany I came back from Library Lobby Day. It's great, fancy and wonderful waitress/waiters! I even invitate non-vegan friends to try this place.

Red Bamboo is my favorite restaurant. The service is always quick and friendly. However, this past week, I went in for lunch and ordered something off of the lunch menu. Some time had passed then a guy who came in way after I ordered my meal, got his meal before me. They said it was because he ordered the burger, that’s why it was quick. I also ordered the burger so I didn’t know what the problem was. I started to get annoyed but stayed calm. Turns out they boxed up my order to go and left it sitting there. When it came out, the burger was cold so I sent it back. They brought out a brand new burger and fries within minutes. If it took minutes to make a new order, WHY did I wait 25 minutes for my food, have I scarf it down and nearly get sick while not enjoying it. Yes the waiter did apologize and take 30% off, but now I didn’t have time to order dessert because I was now running late to an appointment. That’s only the 2nd disappointing moment I’ve had since I first went there in 2007.

I am not a vegetarian or vegan by the way. Experiencing this first time gave me a different perspective full of options to try different recipes with soy meat. My chicken with cashews was a delicious meal and it tasted better than regular chicken. I will be coming to this place with my family more often.

As I am not fully a vegan, I was deliciously surprised!!! My fiancé is vegan, so I surprised her with a late lunch here. Great choice!!! The food was amazing, we both agreed!!! We had spring rolls, dumplings, bbq Saitan sandwich, bamboo burger with fries, and of course some red wine. Simply amazing!!!

First, I am not a vegan. At all. I Brough my niece, who is vegan, while in visiting her school. The food was great. Soy chicken wings and a eggplant parm sandwich. Excellent food. I was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

Red bamboo is one of my favorites and I highly recommended it. I’ve been coming here for years and always enjoy the food and ambience. Everything on the menu is delicious, the prices are reasonable and the desserts are so good you forget that they’re vegan. Always a treat! 👍🏾

Stopped in late last night with the lady, as a practicing meat eater i was skeptical but curious, and the menu seemed interesting. Got one of the dumplings as an appetizer and the sweet and sour chicken. Delicious. I left stuffed and satisfied. Place is small and cramped, but was worth the wait. Would like to go back and work through the menu next time we're in the city.

The food is always fantastic! I travel to New York twice a year and I always make time to visit my favorite restaurant multiple times. It's a small place and usually the service is pretty decent. It wasn't as much tonight. But I'll still come back because of the food.

I only wish there were a vegetarian restaurant this good in my home town. I really enjoyed everything about this meal, the service, the food, the atmosphere and the prices. BTW, I have never given a review this good.

Food was fresh and delicious with a small but tasty gluten free menu. Small space but nice music and good atmospheric lighting. A little slow to take orders but food came pretty quickly once our orders were placed.

Nice, tasty, cool place and very very decent prices. Hugh menu with many options and the flavours are interesting. One time is not enough if you want to try all of the combinations the can offer. I enjoyed a lot even though the cute waitress didn't fancy me so much....oh well.

Must try 100% vegan restaurant! Massive portions & all dishes were wonderful. We tried Sizzling Steak platter (good recommendation to upgrade side rice to Garlice Fried Rice!) & Chicken Parmesan (nice sauce!) So many interesting menu items - many different cuisines represented ranging from Asian to Creole to Italian Located near NYU - look for the stairs, directly off street level

This place has quickly become my top choice when thinking about where to get dinner. Their menu is impressively extensive and executed flawlessly. I've had the pleasure of dining here three times in the past month, twice with my meat-loving boyfriend, and I can honestly say that not a single dish has disappointed. Whether it's the delightful skewers, the Seoul pancakes, or any other item I've had, the quality consistently shines. Surprisingly, the beer options are both affordable and surprisingly good, always priced at $7 (you must try the sour!). The staff is exceptionally friendly, adding to the overall enjoyment. It's a superb destination for well-prepared comfort food.

Had an amazing experience, being served by Leslie and Tanner. Very warm, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere. Makes you feel like you’re eating at a friend’s house. I ordered the vegan Spicy Chicken with Broccoli over brown rice. It was delicious and well portioned. It can be hard to find a restaurant that does vegan proteins well, and this place surprised me with how well they prepare and cook their food. Bathroom was nice, clean, and also smelled great with the tasteful candle. Would come back 10 out of 10 times.

I don’t live in NYC but every time I visit I’m sure to stop at Red Bamboo. The food is so good, and I’m not even vegetarian let alone vegan. The soul chicken sandwich is my go to, and is one of the most realistic fake meats I’ve ever had. One of my favorite restaurants anywhere!

Not exceptional but decent vegan food. I liked the mango flavor, and they have quite a few “meat replacement” type dishes like vegan chicken wings. The service was good and the location is in a good spot close to nyu main campus

Amazing restaurant with so many options and delicious food. Very quick service… good always comes out fast . 98% of the food contains soy so I wouldn’t recommend for anyone avoiding soy. There are very few options with seitan or just veggies.

Great food as always!! Staff is always polite and helpful! A must stop for vegan delicacies. Pro tips: 1) A rainy Monday afternoon is the best time for a visit (like today, lol). 2) Creole soul chicken- THE BEST. It’s 🔥. 3) Other recommendations: Thai beef curry, tonkatsu chops, and sizzling pepper steak platter. Go get Red Bamboooooo! ♥️ 🎋

Small spot with a huge variety of vegan options - the portion sizes are quite large, so we only got a few starters: the dragonfly dumplings, the chicken satay, and the fish tacos. Our favorite were the tacos, which were incredibly flavorful, fresh, and were very filling. The dragonfly dumplings were a bit mushier than expected, and the filling was quite plain. We’ve been here before and have really enjoyed the entrees, but wish that portion sizes were a bit smaller so that we could order and try more :)

Fantastic experience! My partner and I went here for dinner after going to one of the various museums around the city. It's a bit of a smaller place, but the atmosphere is very pleasant. It eventually dimmed and they set out candles on each of the tables, making it feel more personal. The service was very friendly and we had no problem getting anything we might've needed! The food was fantastic as well! I had every last bit and then some. I'd recommend this place to just about anyone. I'm definitely going to make sure to eventually stop by again.

It was delicious! First time coming here and I wasn't disappointed at all I will definitely come back cause there are things on the menu worth trying. The appetizers are bomb af. Had two of those before getting my main entree. Let me tell you! It was delicious, fragrant and filling! Had one of their beers (stout), but it was too light for my liking. The ambience is welcoming and inviting, service is great as well.

WOW. we were blown away by the food here. we split the fried tofu and zucchini, and i swear we were almost too full to eat our entrees. the portion sizes are huge for a great price. i ordered the creole soul chicken as my meal and could only finish a few pieces, which was totally fine because they reheated super well for leftovers. my friend got the teriyaki chicken bowl. both meals were absolutely amazing. a must stop for vegans visiting NYC

The food here is amazing! I'm a carnivore and my vegetarian wife recommended we hit this spot on our trip to NYC. I had the Thai Beef Curry and it was delicious. You cannot tell at all that this dish is vegan. The taste and texture of the "beef" will fool anyone. Highly recommend it to vegans, vegetarians and carnivores alike.

I remember eating these things over 10 years ago. When I used to come visit New York City before I lived here I thought these were all the rage. I don't know if my taste buds have changed or the product has changed but they tasted a bit different. The food was still great and I would definitely eat that again but I remember it having a different texture underneath the breaded part. I think these are still phenomenal I just reminisce about what I recall from 10 years ago. Overall this is a cool spot to check out if you're ever in the area cuz they have a ton of other food I didn't get to taste much other than the crispy soul chicken

We have been eating here every time we come to NYC for years. It is great vegan food that taste like not vegan food. We love the fake fried chicken. My son got fake ribs. We live in Ohio so it is rare we get good vegan food. The mashed potatoes were a little hard and lumpy and we did not live the collard greens but we really go for the fake meat anyway. We were super happy. 12 year old son stuffed himself and is very happy.
