All around great experience. Each course was better than the last-- I recommend the veal chop to anyone having a hard time choosing what to order! And the Cesar salad dressing was phenomenal. As for the service, John and his staff were very attentive and friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for 5 star dining downtown.
Introduced to this place by our friends. I must say it is an exceptional Italian restaurant! I had the fried whole sea bass and they fileted it right in front of me and asked if I wanted them to leave the delicious crispy skin. I opted to have them leave it cause my hubby loved it with his pasta dish! Highly recommend this place if you wu be in Manhattan, NYC!
We were warmly greeted and seated without reservations. 5Star food and service. We were in the city touring after our baseball showcase. Glad we found such an amazing place to eat! Loved how much my boys enjoyed the authentic Italian food. Everyone was very attentive which made our experience so enjoyable.
Just stumbled on this place looking for lunch at 2:30 PM. Great find and good timing too because they close between 3:00 and 5:00 PM. Superb ravioli, linguini with shrimp and scallops, and wine. Lucky us.

Well, what can we say other than fantastic, attention to customer requirements and to the food quality and presentation was excellent, nice little touches like a menu titled Happy Birthday, an at the table photo, printed and presented with a personal hand delivered signed message from the owner

For my friends and me this is perhaps the best northern italian restaurant in NYC! Remarkable food, service and experience! Restaurants in NY are normally too noisy, this one is elegant AND quiet, but cozy. I sincerely recommend it!

Phenomenal Service. Go for the phenomenal service and old-guard dining experience. The food is very good but truly, this is more about the service experience.
We started off with the antipasto from the cart - fresh portabello mushrooms with rosemary, marinated peppers, artichoke hearts, seafood and prosciutto, among other things. Everything was freshly prepared table-side and tasted wonderful.
Our next course was a lobster ravioli special. It was done in a delicate red sauce that complemented the richness of the lobster perfectly. It was one of my favorites of the evening.
For the main course, I chose the Dover sole piccata, also a special (sensing a trend for the evening?). The piccata sauce was superb and the Dover sole was deboned table-side. The sheer dexterity of the waiter as his fingers, armed with utensils, flew over the sole and deftly removed the bones was a sight to see. These guys could win contests, if there were such things.
Dessert was zabaglione with blueberries, also prepared table-side. To be honest, the zabaglione was missing the typical "body" that I expect from zabaglione. It tasted good but the consistency was a little runny.
Overall, I cannot say enough about the top-notch service that we received at Il Tinello. Even though there are a ton of good Italian spots in the city, we will be back simply for the service.
Accidentally booked a reservation at their other location but was quickly accommodated by the wonderful staff. Super friendly and professional, the atmosphere is wonderful and dimly lit for a cozy and romantic vibe.
All the little apps they serve with the bread were delicious and the pasta dishes were great!
Highly recommend stopping in for some great Italian food and laid back atmosphere for date night or a nice family meal.

Super fast service, professional staff, it feels like stepping into an Italian restaurant from the 70s. Food was great (pesto, fish, Caesar salad, dessert). Lots of table side service ,ales this super for kids and keeps folks entertained. Table of three, three courses, cocktails, and dessert: 60mins. !
A wonderful evening! Reservations a must! With all the choices available in NYC, will definitely make a repeat appearance. Service was impeccable, attentive and knowledgeable. Food was served with perfect timing and hot. FLAVORS ABOUND!

The best dinner experience I have had since moving into the city. Ray and Benny were both incredible and I am so grateful they were there for our first time at the restaurant. I look forward to many more nights at Il Tinello!
We booked one evening here at the West side restaurant. The service was impeccable. The food & cocktails were very tasteful and plentiful. Once complete, we chose to book the next night and cancel our other reservations to dine again. Once we arrived the next night, the maître d remembered us as did many of the wait staff. We felt fortunate to experience such an excellent dining experience and witnessed a marriage proposal.
We enjoyed the Lamb chop special, the Veal, the rack of lamb, and the filets dinners. We will defiantly return upon our next vacation in New York.
Always a variety of delicious specials. Ordered burrata, tuna tartare and oyster special for antipasto. All were deliciously refreshing. Integrali alla funghi (mushroom pasta) was cooked to garlic-y perfection. Excellent service as well. After I had filled my own glass to clear the wine pitcher from the table, a waiter approached us worriedly asking if it was one of his men who had filled the glass too high, haha. Super attentive!
Great dinner tonight! The very best stuffed artichokes and ricotta cheesecake and the friendliest people ever! Everything was absolutely perfect! Can’t wait to return.
I have returned to this restaurant over and over again, for one reason, it's fabulous!. Last night I celebrated a special occasion there and could not have been more pleased. The service, attentiveness and delicious food never disappoints. The old world charm embraces you as soon as you walk through the door. They treat everyone so special and certainly made us feel like that last night. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Had a great birthday meal. Delicious food including fresh pasta. Greeted by owner/ staff. Flawless service. It’s a classy and low- key place… not pretentious. We will return for special occasion. The street outside is not much to look at but inside it is old, classical Italian.
Great food and amazing service. The staff is very professional and yet still keeps a friendly vibe. The food was excellent..and really enjoyed the specials they served the night we went for dinner with a large table of 8!
John, Nick and Team do a marvelous job! The food is terrific and the formal and elegant appearance of the dining experience are quickly put aside by the warm and friendly exchange one enjoys with the staff. We found Il tinello by accident our first night in NYC and made a point to go again at the end of two week stay.
Our group decided to go to this place. Cocktails and appetizers were good. The food itself was fantastic. Great service too!!
