Fantastic dining experience. Very cool atmosphere... everything from entering through the “pawn shop” to the decor and champagne service in the bathroom made for a hip and fun atmosphere! The service was excellent - our waiter was friendly, accommodating and extremely prompt. He was very helpful in helping us navigate the menu and made numerous suggestions. The food was outstanding! Everything we ordered was fabulous... in fact we ordered too much because after tasting the first round (grilled cheese and tomato soup dumplings and tuna poke wonton tacos) we were so impressed... we wanted to try a little of everything and I think we almost succeeded! All of the food (and cocktails) were top notch! Fantastic experience at Beauty & Essex! Highly recommend!
Amazing experience
First time Canadians into New York for our Honeymoon. Was recommended to go here. Wasn’t disappointed. From the moment you walk through the pawn shop and through the door, to the friendly faces, great service, great oysters, the meal was incredible. And then they topped it off with a surprise cake pops as a congrats to us.

‘Speakeasy - esque’ as they opened the door and the noise and sights greeted us it felt like entering another world. All dishes we tried were amazing but the apple and kale salad was sublime. Great service awesome food, lovely restrooms � a top class experience.
Music and food were excellent, best food we had in NYC, highly Recommended! Those fried cheese & bacon tomato soup thingymajigs were to die for 😋

My second time at Beauty & Essex for brunch and once again thy didn’t disappoint me. The food is so good! We started off with dumplings, empanadas and the donuts. Yummy! I had the steak and eggs and it was AMAZING!

What can’t I say here? My very first time visiting this place after many years of its “sssssssh” I didn’t have any first impressions. I’m the type that goes in blinders on and accept it. From the door already I knew it was going to be a great night. We were there to celebrate a dear friends birthday during his visit back to the U.S. We had to wait a bit for another so the bar took great care of us. “Phillipe” was upbeat, kind and very charming. I’m not one to try speciality mixed drinks, however they had an amazing menu for all taste.
Dinner was upstairs and our waitress “Nancy” was so kind to even ask if either of us had any allergies to certain foods. Of course I did... *boy in a bubble* with her knowledge and expertise of the menu, the chef was able to accommodate for us. Overall we enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance. It was during a holiday and seemed very busy. No one skipped a beat. We did shared plates to have a taste of everything. I highly recommend the “The Grilled Cheese, Smoked Bacon & Tomato Soup” dumplings..... YASSSSSS *although I didn’t taste, my friends said it was DELICIOUS* ohhhhh the “Seared Scallops” and Spaghettini DEVINE!! Crab Rangoon

My husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at their champagne brunch party last week and had an amazing time! The food was great and sooo much!! And the party forget about it ...The entertainment is wow!!! We looooooved it!!!��

Top Notch! Love the speakeasy entrance, the food was divine & the atmosphere creates such a nostalgic feel of what it must have been like in the 1930’s!
We went as a group of 15, got seated late but the manager more than made up for the mishap. Very professional and nice of them.
We had a more private space in the back on the first floor which was amazing. The food was amazing. Our group was big so we had to do a tasting menu ahead of time which was great - they were very helpful in choosing. Drinks very good. Atmosphere very chic and cool.
Also to note we had someone with an allergy that they went above and beyond for to make sure they ate well still.

Party of 6 for a Fri night bday! What an amazing venue. Passing the shop there is a bar for those waiting to get in. Place has a great atmosphere, great for celebrations. Our host kept the drinks coming and did great recommending food and desert. Tacos are winners. Scallops were the biggest i’ve seen in my life

You enter through a pawn shop and are immediately struck by the vast size of the restaurant. The dress code here is “smart casual/ trendy.” We had an excellent meal, every single thing tasted delicious. The waiter recommended 6-8 plates for the 4 people we had at our table. My favorites were the kale salad, roasted beet and whipped goat cheese toast and the small French dip sandwiches. The service was amazing too. Highly recommend this, it’s a super cool spot.
Probably one of the best meals I have had in years. Everything was delicious! The beef Wellington first came out overcooked, but the staff made it right quickly and gave us dessert on them. Our waitress gave us fabulous recommendations. The grilled cheese dumplings were to die for. Great place for a nice dinner. Definitely will be back! Oh, and the speakeasy feel added an extra layer of fun.

Such a cool speak easy. You walk into a pawn shop and walk through this door to a massive restaurant. I didn’t realize the restaurant was part of the Tao group of restaurants but I can appreciate why the place is so cool as it is part of their group.
Food and drinks were truly delicious. We had the grilled cheese dumplings, the French dip bites and the scallops and everything was really nice. The server was great with making recommendations. Really liked the cocktails.
Enjoyed a fantastic dinner experience! Austin provided exceptional service, offering excellent drink and food suggestions. The lamb and truffle steak were truly outstanding. This charming restaurant is perfect for special occasions. Looking forward to returning soon!
Enjoyed everything about it. Love that plates are shared and food was delicious. Desert wheel was cool but the actual deserts were nothing too fancy. Good coctails that were not too sweet
Made reservations last min & they had plenty of room on week day. Atmosphere was everything. Tells you a story about NYC . Overall the food was good, the desert was quite disappointing, even though the presentation was spectacular, if you can have dessert somewhere else to do that. If you’re not a big dessert person then you should be good 😊
