Just needed a quick snack but when I saw what they had...had a few more. Ginger snaps, oatmeal cookies and onion roll. Excellent !!! Would love to have one around the corner from where I live !!
We stopped by while walking around Chelsea Market. Everything looked absolutely delicious on the shelves - what is important, this is also how it tasted. We got a few things to try.
Oatmeal raising cookies cookies were simply stunning- may be the best ever (bold statement, I know) - texture and overall taste were spectacular, with some unusual flavors making it literally magical (try it for yourself).
Cherry Cream Scone had perfect texture - not too dry and not too moist, and again, was delicious.
Olive Fougasse was one spectacular bread - with lots and lots of olives baked in, but still perfectly round in flavor (many of the olive breads are attacking and too aggressive in the flavor profile - this bread was not).
Make Amy's Bread your must stop if you will visit Chelsea Market - highly recommended.
Three words. Chocolate sourdough bread!!!!!!
Iconic bakery. I am in NY this week and I just had to visit Amy's Bread because being an avid baker (see baking blog under my profile), I own both of Amy's books.
The store looked just as it was pictured in the books and the staff were friendly and patient as we oohed and aahed at the array of delicious baked goods.
We settled on some foccaccia potato/cheese 'pizza' and rosemary rolls. Both were wonderful.
Best Selection in the Meatpacking District. As a lover of bread, this place does not disappoint.
I just discovered that they sell all their breads in roll size for the holidays so I used the opportunity to try them all. The rosemary, fennel breads, and biscuits were perfect for Thanksgiving.
This place is spectacular! Bread delivered from heaven!

On the first leg the trip my fiancee’ and I embarked into New York City. Last time I was in NYC was 2007, so quite a bit has changed. However Chelsea Market (aka home of Food Network) still remains as one of my favorite spots. Everywhere I go, I gotta stop by the market place. Amy’s bread is one of Chelsea Market’s stellar performers. Since it was breakfast time and we had to save room for lunch at Momofuku, therefore baked goods seemed like the best idea! The cheddar cheese biscuits are a most popular hit and I’m not going to pass up a quiche. I also had a morning glory (not pictured). All solid choices…. To cap it off we had some pretty good hipster coffee at Ninth Street Espresso (but Stumptown’s better). This summer has been on of the busiest travel times in my
I like Coconut but I am not a coconut lover. But, when I tried the Coconut Bar from Amy's bread , it was a revelation! Think about it: buttery crust, coconut and chocolate chips! They all pair perfectly together and it is even better after you pop the bar in the microwave for few seconds. Add a glass of milk and it is a perfect treat! Definitely worth to try! Enjoy (I did)! 0 comments Email This BlogThis!
If you like bread, you'll love Amy's bread. There are a few Amy's Bread bakeries around NYC, but I've only ever been to the one inside Chelsea Market. Everything looked so good that I wanted to get one of everything, but I showed restraint and only bought three items.
In case you ever decide to visit NYC, you can't just eat at fabulous restaurants. Well,Ii mean, you can, but in order to be a true Fritos and Foie Gras Fat Kid, you also have to do food shopping. Where do you want to do this? Chelsea Market, of course. Be

Amy's Bread is a wonderful bakery/bread store. They have a few locations in the city...one being in Chelsea Market and it is a must visit: it is usually pretty busy and there are not a whole lot of seats inside wonderful cakes and cookies await you..... what I really love is you can watch the bread making from the open windows lots and lots of breads are made daily
On Sunday, Lucy and I went to brunch with Courtney, my friend from Charleston who moved up to the city a couple years ago. As of couple months ago, Courtney and her husband are Vegan, as is Lucy. Courtney found us a cute little Vegan brunch spot called Blossom . For being strictly Vegan, they had a menu full of delicious sounding meals. I opted for the French Toast with fresh fruit and tempeh bacon. The French toast was crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. I was nervous to try the tempeh bacon, but I ended up liking it. Both Lucy and Courtney had the Tofu Scramble with sautéed onion, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, and soy sausage. I wish we had more Vegan restaurants in Charleston. There were a lot of menu items Iâd like to try and ultimately experiment with in my kitchen. Maybe Iâll use the menu as inspiration. Thanks, Courtney, for picking out a great spot and meeting us! :) We also took Courtneyâs recommendation to walk through Chelsea Market and pick up a
they have the best cakes; huge portions and delicious. i haven’t tried their other baked treats but they look just as good. i highly recommend their coconut cake and carrot cake! their carrot cake isn’t too sweet, which i love.
It was my first time visiting New York and my friend told me about this place.I enjoyed the pistachio twist pastry! It was delicious and all other bakery they have look so nice. When i visit New york again i will definitely come back to have another coffee and bread!
Great pastry. Good coffee. Tiny and cozy place, but there was no crowd. I enjoyed it.
Nice place with good variety of different bread cookies and other pastries, good coffee .
Situated inside the chelsea market .
Nice staff and clean environment.
Perfect place to have breakfast in New york before starting the sightseeing of the day 😃
Best carrot cake I've had anywhere in the world, and it's my go-to dessert everywhere I go! The slice portion is very generous, and the cream cheese frosting is not too sweet and plenty of it!! The cake is the perfect balance of moist and light, and again, not too sweet!
Good bread and had a good experience here. I ordered an iced americano and got a black iced coffee instead. Thankfully, when I mustered up the courage to clarify with the barista afterwards, he was very kind and remade the americano for me. The almond brioche toast was very yummy, and I would like to come back to try the olive oil cake.
Great spot for breakfast inside Chelsea Market! Loved their breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and bacon. The whole vibe is cute with the robin blue branding.
I had my best iced Mocha here, strong coffee and chocolate taste with the right consistency and not too sweet. Cookie was also delicious. This bakery has three branches in NYC. Will come again definitely!
I tried the German chocolate cake. It was pretty good. Better flavor than magnolias but not as good consistency. Staff super friendly. Also I had a delicious turkey club like sandwich.
Love Amy's hot chocolate. They make one of the good hot chocolates here. Tastes delicious and actually feels like authentic hot chocolate and not like renamed hot cocoa. Like the fact that it isn't too sweet, which is just perfect for me. Got a chocolate tart being a chocolate lover and just loved it. It's quite delicious honestly. And, got a Whole Wheat Five Grain Bread whole loaf and it tastes heavenly and the freshest. It's a huge loaf and couldn't fit it all in bread box. It's crust stayed firm and inside remained soft until we finished the bread, about 3 days and happy to see it didn't dry out. It is actually one of the good quality breads. However, it had quite a bit of oil dripped in the bread box as can be seen in the photos. Wish they hadn't added so much of fat content to the bread... Also, got a spinach and asiago frittata sandwich which was quite fresh and a good quality one, forgot to take a photo as I got busy eating. :) Will probably try white bean and avocado sandwich next time!
Being for East London I honestly thought we had the best bagels, Wow Amy’s bread in Chelsea market would Brick Lane a run for its money! Great selection of bagels, fillings and sweet treats. Coffee was good, very welcoming and cosy shop. Staff was very pleasant and would definitely visit again on our return.
I stopped by here after trying all of the carrot cakes the New York Times listed. This is pretty good considering their price for a slice is 5.95$.
Atmosphere: cozy, relaxed, casual, open. Once you enter patrons are the first thing you see. They’re in the middle. Occasionally they’re the obstacles. The blue/green wall sets the tone to be happy, young, fresh.
Service: so friendly! I met their new manager and she is one of the friendly I met on this crazy carrot cake tour. I was happy to get some time to introduce myself and speak to their team. They were exhausted from a long day but still gave me great attention.
Food: their carrot cake is not much of a texture cake. It’s simple with carrots and few walnuts. The batter isn’t sweet and the icing is not intense. It’s quite lovely. The best part is the slice is $5.95.
I’d definitely return to this place. After visiting here I went to Sarabeth’s and didn’t even need to try her carrot cake after I saw the price and the size. Definitely no thanks. Amy’s is up there but I can’t say it’s the best carrot cake. They do great boulangerie too. Great breads and lunch sandwiches.
Essentials in a quiet(-er) setting.
Kitchen sink cookie was delicious. Black and white cupcake very tasty. Grilled cheese with a spicy kick was a hit.
I visited this place for the first time today. My parents met here in the 90s' (my mom worked here). Besides the sentimental value of this bakery, the food was phenomenal. I got a simple plain bagel with pb and j. I would 100% recommend that (it was delicious). I got lemonade and sipped it for a while with friends in the seating area. The atmosphere was warm and chatty like a good cafe should be. The staff was patient and helpful even when I asked a lot of questions.
Doesn't look like anything special but OMG the quiche!!
Coffee also just completely perfect and looks sorta meh- bagel was delicious
Would come back running !!!
Yum yum yum
