Much like the search for the Holy Grail, hubby and I have made it our mission to discover a delicious gluten free pizza. After years of fruitless searching, wading through the cardboard-like, half cooked monstrosities that some establishments dared to call pizza, we hit upon heaven on earth: Don Antonio! No longer would our dietary restrictions separate us from the joy of pizza. And what a pizza! (Actually, 2, to be exact!): Fresh mozzarella, basil that tasted like they had picked it right before they placed it on our pizzas, and the unmistakable tang and smell of unpressed virgin olive oil. Add to that truffle sauce, mushrooms, sausages, prosciutto, and a spicy oil in a glass decanter to accompany your crusts. As if the exquisite food wasn’t enough, the service was splendid, with attentive and talkative staff, even in the midst of dinner rush on a Saturday evening. It was a perfect way to round out seeing Chicago on Broadway, and we will make this a tradition whenever we traipse downtown!

Eaten a lot of bad and just ok gluten free pizza over the years. None close to NY Style. Don Antonio had the best gluten free NY style pizza we have had in 10+ years of searching. It was awesome and delicious.

Excellent pizza and great service. This was the best meal we had on a recent vacation in New York. David, our server was excellent! Highly recommend Don Antonio's.

I had a dinner with 5 friends. Everyone in the party had a speciality pizza off the menu. Mr. Antonio's stiff and spicy sausage penetrated our bodies with great excellence. Everyone in my party was well satisfied after the visit.

Very cute, authentic pizza restaurant with fantastic pizza. So NY tasting - sauce was great, thin crust, with just enough burnt to make it great. Service is good. Place is small - be prepared to wait sometimes and sit close to your neighbor - just gives u a better opportunity to choose your pizza!!

Loved this place! The pizza was great and we sat at the bar and watched the bartender (Miguel) make amazing concoctions. A must try in NYC. Very friendly atmosphere

Your excellent service was icing on the pie. I have been GF for the past three (3) years now and have finally found a GF pizza I want more of.

Best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had. Thank you! Don’t suppose you’d like to open a branch in Ireland?!

Quiet pizza spot with a front door that you really need to push to open. Typical tight squeeze seating and the decor had a great appeal. Love the old New York City photos. Everyone working was very nice. Ordered two pizzas. First was the celebrated deep fried pizza topped with smoked mozzarella cheese. What an amazing combination. There were spots of cold sauce but still tasted great. The other pizza was with a nice selection of roasted vegetables. The pizza itself was underdone in the middle, very chewy, and hard to cut. Overall, great neighborhood spot for a small pizza in Hell's Kitchen. Make sure to get the Montanara pizza.

The pizza was excellent! It's not traditional NY style. It was mouth watering and super Italian gourmet. The service was also super good. My water was refilled constantly and the waitress consistently checked on us! Amazing dining experience! I highly recommend this spot!

I'm going to go 5 star on Don Antonio though I'd say more 4.5. No question I'll be back and I'd bring friends. Narrow theater district sit-down brick oven pizzeria. It's tight quarters at the small place. They make 12" pies - no slices. Each pie is a bit more than 1 person can comfortably eat. We couldn't taste the difference between the buffalo mozzarella and regular mozzarella - enjoyed both. Suggest you split a pie and split an app or 2. Service is just ok. Friendly, but distracted. Busboy dripped on me and then wanted to lean over me again to fetch the red pepper flakes - I told him to leave it and wait until we're gone, but he couldn't! He had to awkwardly lean over me again!

5 stars only because of pizza. Fritto misto was so and so, tasted like 4 almost the same fried things... Mozzarella and prosciutto was good and pizza tartufo and capricosa excellent, cooked to perfection. No reservations, so it might be a bit of a wait. Service was good. If you don't loke crowded, noisy places and the fact that you eat so close to other guests you better be off

Nice spot for neapolitan pizza. Service was quick. We stopped here before seeing a show. We arrived around 5pm and did not wait to be seated.

Went for dinner before a Broadway show and location was perfect. Had lovely cocktails, pizza and calzone. Anything on the menu was available with their gluten free dough, and the dough was hearty and baked well. Will definitely visit again.

Very quick service but the all white pizza was very soggy due to the oils. The Margherita pizza was amazing. The crust was amazing

Very good neapolitan pizza in the heart of Manhattan. Staff was friendly and it was easy and very quick to take a pizza for take away. Crust was very delicious. As well as the tomato sauce. Best pizza I had in New York yet.

I was sooo happy to find this restaurant! I saw online that they had a ton of options that were gluten free. The dough and everything was sooo delicious! I was impressed. It wasn’t just a skimpy gluten free alternative. The fried dough puffs with Nutella were sooo good! The calzone and pizza definitely surpassed my expectations. Can’t wait to return the next time I’m in NYC!

Great place. Delicious and expertly prepared food. We had the margarita sausage and peppers napolitan Pizza, and a really tasty salad with beets and orange-themed dressing. The pizza was really good, and delivered quickly by a friendly staff. Come here. You will NOT be disappointed!

Excellent pizza. Decent ingredients quality. Fast service. Reasonable prices. The crust is too thick around the edges. The slice has some flaps to it

Had a great time there. Innovative flavors, excellent craft, quick and attentive service, large serving sizes… what else could you need? The wood fired oven makes a big difference.

Good food, sat under a TV with ESPN playing at an audible level with auto tune music playing on top of it. Great food, and service, but not the correct atmosphere for indoor dinning.

Our food was so good, we couldn't believe it was actually gluten free! I'm super sensitive and didn't get sick. I'm not sure I will be able to eat any other pizza from now on... The pizza was to die for!

Hands down the best pizza that I've ever had. The Margarita and the Pistacchio e Salsiccia Pizza's were super delicious. Try them with the spicy oil and crushed red pepper, yum. You can sit outside and enjoy the sunshine.

Very nice place. Pizza was really good, super thin with burned edges like you expect from firewood ovens. I also had potato croquettes with lemon zest. Super crunchy outside and melty potato and mozzarella inside. The lemon surprised me, something different to taste.

Our first night in NYC, my Celiac husband and I got the gluten-free pizzas here. They are made free from cross contamination, so they were safe for him! They do use gluten-removed wheat in the recipe, so if you have a wheat allergy, be advised. A huge part of the reason we even came to NY was because my husband could have pizza that wasn't flat as cardboard and similarly flavored (if you know the gluten-free struggle, you understand). It was a truly GREAT pizza, and surpassed all pizzas we have had since his Celiac diagnosis 5 years ago! We got pizza from Don Antonio, Carnegie Pizza, and Kesté Pizza and Vino while on our trip. They were all great, but we found Don Antonio's better and fluffier than the (also excellent) gluten-free pizza from Carnegie. Kesté's gluten free pizza was clearly sent down from on high and ended up being our favorite, but if you don't have time to take a train downtown, Don Antonio is a close second, with an incredible GF pizza, complete with traditional Italian toppings and that woodfire taste, safe for Celiacs, and an atmosphere that would allow for dressing up or wearing something more casual. Do not hesitate to visit this restaurant, especially if you're a Celiac seeking beautiful pizzas near you! I wish we lived closer - we would definitely be regulars.
