Best cheese ravioli we have ever tasted. Creamy melt in your mouth cheese filling & cheese sauce. A whole bowl of fresh grated Parmesan and so tender fresh homemade pasta. The salad with anchovy sauce was also cheesy & tasty. Homemade toasted bread chunks with olive oil flavoring. Very yummy chocolate mousse cake. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly. Enjoyed our meal in the theatre district very much. Others seemed to enjoy the bar.

Absolutely amazing food. Great little hole in the wall with exceptional charm. The owner was fabulous and took care of 6 very exhausted travelers before our flight back to the UK. She stopped and shared wonderful stories with us and kept us quite entertained. The food was absolutely fabulous and I know every single one of us would gladly return there again. I cannot recommend it highly enough. You will not be disappointed.
What a gem of a place! Atmosphere was rich, food was wonderful, and staff delightful. We stumbled upon them and now will forever be in our memories of a wonderful NYC experience! Bravo!
The food was delicious and the ambience much appreciated. We would highly recommend this establishment to others.
I'm gonna be honest, we almost passed this place up while looking for dinner on the way to a play, we are so glad we didn't! We ventured down the stairs from the street expecting we would likely be turned away, but lucky us, someone missed their reservation! The wait for the food was about average. But oh man!!! I tell you what, the food was so good we were completely finished eating in 10 minutes! I personally, was a little sad to run out of food on my plate! I would definitely say, if you are seeing a play down the street from here, make a reservation! Don't miss it!
What can I say? Ran in last minute before my show last night, intrigued by the homegrown Italian vibe. Had an amazing meal (shrimp and scallops in white wine sauce), and made amazing friends with the tables next to me. I'm from Chicago, one couple was from Australia, and the other from Texas. Delicious food, delicious wine, delicious company, gorgeous little place, and such a truly New York adventure! Thanks for the memories ❤️
We went for Sunday Brunch! The food was excellent as was the service & the Cielo had a really quaint atmosphere! It's easy to walk by and not notice it, but I recommend it!
Awesome food, great atmosphere, reasonable cost and amazing staff! Jordan, our server made us feel like family. Wish we'd found this place our first night instead of our last!
Definitely a great place to stop!
There is very limited seating so make a reservation. That being said we only had to wait 30 minutes and we were able to sit at the bar to do so. This is a small, cozy, hole in the wall style place. It's clearly been around for a long time and the quality of the food backs that up- they know what they are doing! We have carbonara with sausage and sole piccata, both were amazing! We also had the prosciutto and melon appetizer which was light and refreshing. Prices are also excellent considering it's directly across from one theatre and next to another. Stop in for sure!
My find me gluten free app led me here and the next time I'm back in the city we will definitely go back. Any item in the menu can be made gluten free and my daughter did not get sick!!!
Thank you for the amazing food, wine, suggestions and warm welcoming service from the Lovely lady new to New York (like us) although us from Sydney Australia and her from Florence, Italy. No waiting and could not fault a thing
Amazing food. Cozy atmosphere just steps from Broadway and Times Square. And gluten free friendly!
The food is really, really tasty here! Add awesome people working there, & you have a must go to place!!! Enjoy their sausage pizzas!!!!
Yep! This place is just off Broadway and the food is so good.
The gnocchi was amazing in a rich cream sauce! We loved the atmosphere, which was intimate but also had a cozy feel. Edith was friendly, attentive and accommodating to our few requests. Btw, dessert was delish!
Not a huge space and hope you dont mind catching other people's conversations around you. We plan to return!
I was in with my daughter on Saturday at dinner time. When we walked in one of the bartenders asked if we had reservations to which I said no. He was about to send us on our way but another woman bartender came over, gave us a warm smile and told us we could sit at the bar. She was super attentive and answered our questions, etc. after we were done our dinner I thought she would try to give us the bill and rush us out but she didn’t. She let us know that they had a dessert menu. I usually never eat dessert but we didn’t have a huge dinner (by choice) so we accepted and she dropped the menus off for us to look at and said she’d be back. At this point another gentleman from the back of the restaurant came over and was wondering why we were sitting there. I let him know we were choosing dessert and he looked perturbed. The woman came back and took our dessert order, got us more drinks, etc and couldn’t have been more hospitable. During all this time, another man came in, by himself, and he was asked “Do you have reservations?” He said no, but he was told by the man from the back “Ah, we can fit you in somewhere”. Maybe I am taking it the wrong way but on one level I felt the men working at the restaurant didn’t want us there. Looking at us: a mom, her daughter with a huge American Girl shopping bag...could they have been thinking: We won’t spend a lot of money? No alcohol so no extra tips? I don’t know. Because of the woman working there though...she made me put those reservations aside. She treated us amazing...we were not rushed. I made sure to tip above average for what we had. Our food was really good but I definitely want to come back with my husband (I’ll make reservations, I swear!) and try some of the bigger entrees.
Nice cozy little spot in the midst of time square! Food was great, service was fast and friendly! Made reservation online!
Good Italian restaurant near theater district.
They do not really have a wide variety of menu, but every meals are reasonable and tasty. Caprese and chicken were nice and not salty!
Came for a quick cocktail before Book of Mormon and we were not disappointed. Place is definitely cozy, but there was plenty of space on a Saturday afternoon before the 2:00 PM show.
Great food! And they always cook the gluten-free pasta just right, doesn't fall apart :) make sure to get one of their fun cocktails between shows -- and, by the way, you can skip the line and pre-order your intermission drinks. They know what time you'll be leaving your seat to👏 the👏 minute👏
EDIT (-1 stars): quality in background music and visual entertainment (TVs) deteriorating. Also, come on! Overpriced new brunch SO not worth it. Bring back the old brunch, or at least give us an option. Used to love coming in here but maybe I should start using Spotluck more.
Wonderful hideaway Italian restaurant. Delicious food and friendly staff.
Had a great time at lunch today tried a new place was awesome enjoyed our lunch and dessert and coffee.
Manhattan is stuffed with great Italian food but for tourists it's harder to know. You won't be disappointed here.
The service was friendly and crisp. I had the steak and it was done rare as I asked but was tougher than I expected. But it was also very flavorful. Excellent value for a midtown restaurant and serves the full menu after shows. It's right next to the Eugene onielll theatre where book of Mormon is showing.
Came here because it's near the show we were going to see, also had good reviews and the menu on their website looked good. Upon arriving realized the menu is not the same as the one on their website, not to mention the prices have also gone up. According to the bartender she said they are in the process of updating their website and asked what I wanted off the old menu. I wanted the penne with peas in a vodka sauce. She said they could make it. It was absolutely delicious. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
Great Italian restaurant right in the theater district. The food, especially the gnocchi, was amazing. We ate downstairs in another room, and it was comfy and semi-private. I loved the look and feel of the place, and the staff added to that feel as they were excellent.
I would go back to this place in a heartbeat. The food is outstanding, the servers are attentive and when they couldn’t seat our party of 8 until 20 minutes after our reservation, the manager bought our entire party a round of drinks. I highly recommend.
It was a wonderful experience! Food came out with very little delay, and was wonderful. The complimentary bread was stellar, and the service was top-notch as well. They were very friendly and we're not pushy at all to get you out and on your way, so it was a refreshing relaxing experience after a long day.
Before, after, during or instead of the theater, you have to hit this little Italian gem. Wonderful food, great people and a perfect location. If you want glitz, look elsewhere but, if you want a great hangout in the heart of the theaters, look no further. Also, gluten free options for those who need that option. Pastas are all well done and drinks and quick and perfectly prepared. This is one of those places that I hate to review because I don't want to share it but, you have to give great places their proper due.
