I was there in 2009 and this was great. Other friends (from the foosball world) were there when passing thrue New York and they all have the same feeling, it's a great place to go. If you wanna more info, ask Ellen Moon (she was going there a lot to play foosball on Tuesday evening, I don't know if she continues now) Hope I can get once again on that place in my life (living in Belgium, Europe, it's not really around the corner for me)
Great underground old school NY Speak Easy style Jazz joint. Great, live jazz and almost any game you want. Pool, Ping Pong, Foosball, Shuffleboard, Checkers, Chess, Cards, you name it. Good beer and wine selection as well. You have to check it out!

Incredible music...no amateurs here. And only a $3 cover. Beer, wine and soju at reasonable prices ($4-7). Games available to play...cards, checkers, scrabble, shuffleboard, pool, ping pong.

I had a great time at Fat Cat last Monday during my visit to the city. The music was incredible and it was nice to be in a large club with plenty of elbow room. :)

My boyfriend took me here and we had a solid night of brews and games. There was also an amazing jazz band that we enjoyed while we were there :)
Been to my fair share of bars with a couple of pool tables, a little arcade, and maybe even some foosball - but no other spot dedicated to being a big jazzy game hall like this. There's enough of each game that even when it gets crowded you'll always have something to do and it's a great time. If I lived in NYC, Fat Cat would be my go-to! This place is magic!

I was here for a friends Bday party. Low key basement spot where you can get your drink on, play some games, and listen to live music. There was a $3 cover and they were checking ID last time I was here.
The games: They have Ping Pong, Pool Table, foosball, shuffleboard, chess, and checkers. Pricing for pingpong is $7 per person per hour. In essence $14 per hour for a game with 2 players. You get two paddles + a ball and you get decent space to play your game or share with other people in your party. Foosball is about $2 in quarters you get change from the bar. Beers range in the $4-$7 range, wine is about $7 per glass. You can also get bagged potatoe chips and nuts (cashews/almonds/ pistaccios $2 per cup)
Live music: On the Saturday I went they had Jazz and you can take a seat to appreciate the musicians. It can get loud in here with so much going on all at the same time. With all being said i still had a great time with my friends and would recommend Fat Cat. It is very spacious so you can go with large parties and multiply the fun. Right off the 1 train at Christopher Street.

The atmosphere here is fantastic, you literally feel both the spirit of friendly competition and relaxed bar mood.
If you are ever going to play tennis here, try to take table #4 cause it has walls on the sides and do not contact with other tables.
Interesting combination of love jazz music and games. Open late. Pick from table tennis, pool, foosball, chess or shuffle board. The wait for pool table was unreasonable, same for table tennis... Actually the only game we got to play was shuffle board which was right next to the band. Altogether great evening.
Dive-y in many aspects, Fat Cat is an interesting novelty. Beer, Wine and Soju span the drink options. The venue is filled with pool, ping-pong and shuffleboard tables and live music is common. Prices range with $5 Narraganset lager and it goes up from there. Game rentals might be a bit pricey for some starting at $6.50 per person/per hour but it's definitely an offering you won't find as easily in midtown.
One of the best student's bar in the city. Large underground bar with plenty of space for the games - shuffle boards, ping-pong and billiard. And live jazz music. Lot of fun. Lot of beer and wine.

Every time i come here there is a diverse crowd, sometimes an after work crowd, sometimes a college crowd - always a great atmosphere. Good for dates, hanging out with friends or just enjoying the live music --- on a budget

We enjoyd playing pool here. The jazz music was very nice and we had a lot of fun. We appreciate a lot that they let in all ages. Unfortunately they do not have anything to eat besides nuts and chips.
Fat Cat is one of my favorite places in New York City. It's also on the top 3 jazz bars in the city. Every time I go to NY it's a must to go there at least one time. They have great jazz, great beers and also a lot of variety of games you can play with your friends, perfect combination.
No food except for nuts/popcorn. Reasonably priced drinks, however there is no hard liquor. Soju cocktails available if you're into some Korean flair. Place gets packed so the service is slower when it's busy.
Really enjoyed our evening here. Amazing jazz live music at the Fat Cat. You stand around, drink in hand, and meet strangers all night long. Live music, pool tables, ping pong, shuffleboard, foosball and... beer!

This place is near and dear to my heart as a music fan. With a $5 entrance fee, you can see a great local band drink decent beer and play several table sports like pool! It’s a pretty big spot so you can have large groups of friends join you for a dope hang! I heard my new favorite band here a year back and I still follow them to this day @Brawliknyc . It’s definitely a dive but it NYC it supposed to be that way enough with the fancy spots that charge you too much for nothing, BRING BACK CLASSIC NYC💪🏼 and when they open up after covid, SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS!!! ( not yelling just excited about the idea of it opening soon🤣)
A fun place to chill. I dig the ambience. They have live music, classic ping pong, pool tables, board games. A hip spot to hang around and have a first date.
Super cool, chill place - live jazz, tons of shuffleboard, pool, ping pong tables. Expect to wait an hour or 2 to play on weekends. Awesome soju cocktails, too
