The Thai food is Outstanding, Flavorful of satisfying blends of spices, vegetables, shimp and beef. Our lunch was: Spring Rolls, Vegetables; Tom Yum Goong; Shrimp Lemongrass Soup, Yum Nuah; Beef salad.
We recommend this Delicious Thai Restaurant, it is a treat!
Thai Select offers delicious dining, takeout and delivery to New York, NY.
Thai Select is a cornerstone in the New York community and has been recognized for its outstanding Thai cuisine, excellent service and friendly staff.
Only been here once.. their dimsums are probably one of the best I've had in a while. Pleasant staff coupled with a reasonable ambience.....
Only been here once and have only had the pad Thai, but I view that as a good barometer for a Thai restaurant
The pad Thai was extremely flavorful, not too oily but not dry either. Got pork which was very tender and well seasoned
Highly recommended
Good lunch and especially the Tom Yum soup. Went with a few colleagues for lunch and enjoyed our meal in an otherwise crowded area for Thai food. Will head back. Went with Green Curry.
Initially this place looked a little run down and unappetizing, but once inside, the staff were delightful, and the cocktails were almost glowing. The food came out quickly and it was pretty standard Thai fare. The portion sizes were quite 'American', read 'Large', and we each had a variety of authentic curries. The starters of edamame beans satisfied the gluten-free requirements, the rest of us digging into more traditional springs rolls and satay in a sharing platter, and although I was asked several times, if I wanted my Jungle Curry 'hot', (to which I replied OF COURSE!), it wasn't particularly powerful. A good, safe option for Thai in New York.
Last week, Kate, the owner of Thai Select, invited me to a press dinner to review some of their vegetarian offerings. There are a lot of Thai restaurants in NYC, and even just in Hell’s Kitchen, the streets are lined with Thai places. It can be tricky to navigate through the mediocre ones to find the good ones. Based on this visit, I would say that Thai Select is worth a try. Despite the harsh cold, they remained busy throughout the evening and on a weeknight too!
“Modern Thai” seems to be the best way to describe this spot. The restaurant feels casual, but there’s a bit of a loungey vibe too. There’s only have one row of tables along the length of the restaurant, which is such a relief compared to the usual overly-crowded NYC restaurant. If you’re seated in the back, the wallpaper makes you feel like you’re eating in a glowing bamboo forest. Read more >>
Really unassuming and great restaurant in the mysterious stretch of 9th Avenue between 34th and 42nd Street. I only order takeout from the spot, but they are consistenly delicious, on time, and the prices are beyond reasonable. I one day will have to venture out to experience the shop in person, however, based on all of my delivery orders from Thai Select, I have to give them a near perfect rating.
These guys do it so well every time I am here! From the service to the food to the drinks and for the price, unbelieveable! If I am in town for a week I will be there twice! Tonight I had a coke, massaman curry, pad Thai and pineapple fried rice and it came to $42! AAA+++
Good food and great service. Food tasted great, service was very friendly and speedy, "spicy" was barely at all, I would appreciate a smaller portion for a smaller price
It was packed but the service was still excellent and my food came less than 10 mins after ordering. Nice ambience. Food was delicious! Portion wasn't huge, was just right.
Lovely food and great service!. We ate here twice in 10 nights. We love Thai food, and are very fussy about the quality. The food was beautiful here, and the service was excellent. The serving sizes were very good and it was moderately priced. They have a happy hour each night, so check the website for applicable time. Would certainly return here if visiting NYC again.
My wife and I came in here for some cheap and quick Thai food. It was great! I had the red curry with tofu and she had the cashew vegetarian dish with tofu. Both dishes exceeded our expectations, especially for the low price that they charged. Drinks are rather pricey here, though, so be on the lookout for that. I would definitely recommend.
Excellent!. Très bonne nourriture! Excellent rapport qualité/prix! Joli petit restaurant!
Nothing bad to say about Thai Select.....everything is ALL good!!!
Select It. After a long a arduous touristy trek through Manhattan, my husband and I were in desperate need of nourishment. Our wallets had been emptied time and again throughout the day though various sight-seeing scams so we really wanted a place that was both delicious and a value. We were hopelessly lost on foot by the pier on the outskirts of Hell's Kitchen. We needed to find a place, and fast. Using my Urbanspoon app I found Thai Select and we began our speed-walking through the deserted warehouse-lined streets. A few blocks and heckles later, we reached our destination.
Thai select is beautifully decorated and dimly lit. We felt like we were entering another world after the journey we just endured. It is modern in style and presentation. The waitstaff was pleasant and knowledgeable. Happily, their restrooms are also accommodating and clean. Now to to food!!
The crab rangoons were more of the Chinese take-out variety than the Thai-style we were used to, but still tasty. The Pad Thai was fresh and had a medium level of vinegar, with plentiful sprouts and fresh lime. We also had the special-- mango grilled salmon with Thai vegetables. This was fresh and flavorful, but not disnictively Thai in flavoring. It would be a great option for a guest in a group or couple who is not a big fan of traditional Thai flavors.
The "Thai-inspired" cocktails are delightful, including the lychee belini. They have an acceptable house wine offering including a very lovely Malbec.
I would certainly recommend Thai Select to anyone looking for familiar Thai flavors in a relaxed and modern setting.
Good spot for good Thai & quite modern inside. A little noisy though
Great food! I got the red curry and my boyfriend got the egg plant. Both were awesome!
Yummy Food. Service could be better.. Very good Thai food. Nice atmosphere. Service could have been better. It was very busy when we arrived and no one greeted us immediately. This was confusing, but we decided to walk back and seat ourselves. After that our service was slow but very friendly.
Amazing! Ordered chicken satay and chicken & shrimp pad thai. DELICIOUS! I got yellow curry chicken & vegetable steamed dumplings delivered. Both dishes were great but I recommend eating at the restaurant. The atmosphere is great, service is attentive and fast, plus cocktails are yummy! Cocktail hour everyday 4:00-7:30!
Order Pad Thai. I used to work near here and would visit often for lunch. To date, the best Pad Thai I have ever eaten was at Thai Select. Nice atmosphere, too. I highly recommend it.
Pretty Decent. I ate here this week, based on its Urbanspoon reviews and proximity to my hotel. The service wasn't warm and fuzzy, but the food was good and a good value for NYC.
WOW what a welcome surprise. The Ginger Vegetarian Duck was the best, so was the service
Good place in manhuttun. Good food, it's delicious and service is really fast
Nice interior. Love their dining room.....
Wonderful relaxing ambiance, artistic interior design and tasty cuisine created from fresh ingredients with delicious spices and sauces....this is where you need to dine to escape pandemic stress, the city's noise and thank yourself for making it through these challenging. Complimenting these wonderful food selections is warm, friendly service with a smile. You deserve to eat great, so Thai Select is where you, co-workers, friends, family, guests or just yourself...should dine. Enjoy!!!
Keepin it real out here in Midtown (West)
I honestly don't quite remember the detail because it was from a while back. But the location is convenient if you work in Midtown, it's along bunch of other decent restaurants. The food itself was solid, straightforward. I got a pad thai (basic i know) and it was definitely to my liking, will probably visit again and try something else next time.
Delicious Basil Fried Rice lunch special. The special included a generous portion of Rice and veggies, a vegetarian spring roll, small lettuce salad and a clear vegetable soup, all for a total of $8 after 30% off on seamless.
Solid value for a very delicious meal and was prepared very quickly too.
Attentive service. Dishes were ready fast. I got pad kee-mao with shrimp and my mom got it with squid. The seafood was good. The perfect amount of spice. Also the Thai ice tea was delicious! Overall the meal was great!
Perfect bachelorette party dinner ever, the place is so clean, decorations is soooo good” we took alot of pics”, service was good as well. Highly recommended.
A friend of mine invited me to go here and i really liked it. I had the pork lunch special with salad and rice. It was very spicy. Just how i like it.
Pad Thai with shrimp is ok. The noodle is good, but shrimp is tasteless. The Tom yum soup is good.
Love Thai food and this particular pineapple fried rice is my favorite. They made it really good in here. A good place for Thai food.
We loved this place! We stopped and looked at the menu, though initially didn’t stay. After walking a few more blocks i kept thinking of the soup i saw on the menu and decided to return. So glad we did! The food was fantastic! So many vegetarian options, and everything had great flavor and was fresh! The owner waited on us and we went with all of her recommendations. We were happy we did! Great atmosphere, great food and great service! The ginger tea and coconut ice cream rounded the meal off perfectly! If i lived in the city, this would be my ‘go to’ for sure! Oh, and the soup was phenomenal!
Convenient location with a large selection of items on the menu, including vegetarian options. Service was slow but that's understandable since there was only one staff member working the front. The turmeric noodles is delicious and not too spicy. Also has penang curry with shrimp which was mildly spicy. Good food.
We ordered delivery and the food was very good. Definitely would order again.
-curry puffs we're tasty, despite cooling off in the commute
-papaya salad was well seasoned, not too salty like most delivery
-pork pad see ew was great and delicious
-basil fried rice was tasty; half duck was perfectly cooked and tasty
Had such a delicious meal here that I ate it before being able to take a picture! And our host Prem was absolutely amazing - very attentive, incredibly friendly, and overall fun to be around. We actually came just for drinks and ended up canceling a reservation elsewhere to eat here instead because of the amazing service from Prem and the atmosphere overall. Would very highly recommend for any lover of Thai food! Also the happy hour drinks are great and delicious (highly recommend them) and well priced - $7 cocktails, $6 wine, and $4 beer!
This place was absolutely beautiful. The food was delicious, drinks were amazinggggggggg. The service was sooo good. Sukanya was an amazing server. She was so attentive and made my husbands birthday so memorable. She was so respectful and kind. I have never experienced such an amazing service in a Thai restaurant. Justtttt wow!!!!! Come here you won’t be disappointed. Ask for Sukanya!!!
