This place is the whole experience! The atmosphere is perfect. The service was well-paced and friendly. The meat charcuterie was great to try, high quality meats of different cuts. The crispy artichoke was a new dish I hadn’t see before. It’s a crisped artichoke, seasoned and topped with lemon. Worth getting again! The Cacio e Pepe was phenomenal — handmade noodles with high-quality cheeses. I loved it. If you’re looking for a nice Italian sit down, this is it! Highly recommend!
Great service and great food. We had a tartar, pasta cacio e pepe and spaghetti which were incredible, Al dente and just like they should be. Desert of pannacota is magnificent.
Coffee is so so not very good cappuccino.
Love all of the Italian fare at Il Buco AV. The starters, pastas, pizzas, sides and mains are consistently solid under Chef Justin's helm. The shortribs are not to be missed! Loved the spicy olive pizza too.
Amazing food and atmosphere. The area is spacious and the decor is thoughtfully picked out. The restaurant also sells sandwiches and bakery items near the front, in addition to pasta and cheese. We started off the a charcuterie board with some bread (would recommend). I loved the garganelli pasta with forest mushrooms and arugula. The flavours all worked so well together and I really enjoyed the pasta itself. Would definitely come again!
Came here for a birthday dinner with a pre fixed menu. Everything was spot on. Clearly high quality ingredients, really nicely flavored, and a beautiful location. The pizza was amazing.
Update: they took pizza off the menu… plz bring it back!!!
Love this place, haven’t been here for at least 7 years and coming back was a great pleasure. It still has the same charm and food quality is great. Super nice staff. Pasta is out of this world. But the best part for me is still the ambiance. Little details. My fav area of nyc. Highly recommended. Sit at the bar, get a nice glass of wine and a pasta, and enjoy🍝🍷
Excellent dinner, really fantastic wine selection and the wait staff were friendly and fast. Try the salami selection and the pastas were excellent.
Great food and atmosphere. Personally, I don't like shared seating or listening to other people's conversations at the table with me, but that was my only drawback about this place. Everything on the menu was on point and our server Bill was knowledgeable and attentive. The olive oil cake was a very unique dessert and worth the try.
Love the entire Il Buco branding from their restaurants in the East Village region to their ceramics stores in Amangasset. This place has a great selection of Italian wines with a wide variety of charcuterie to accompany. I usually only come here for drinks so not too sure about their food. Celebrated a birthday here and their waiter was beyond friendly. Recommend anyone looking for a good vibe in this region that is usually not too busy.
Loved the space and concept; really cool idea. However, I found the mains didn't live up to my expectations. The salumi board was really good and definitely a must get. The menu definitely is varied and interesting, so may have to come back to try other items, but the octopus in the pasta was an odd choice given how chewy the preparation of it was. The sausage pasta was good, just missing some salt content to me.
