This is a really nice sushi restaurant! The atmosphere is very comfortable, with lots of traditional Japanese woodcut paintings on the walls. The waitstaff are friendly and efficient, and the food is very good. They've got rolls themed after Broadway musicals, which is a really cute nod and potentially worth it if you're a musical fan.
I had the black spicy tuna roll, which is made with black rice; the aioli sauce they use is good and the spice sticks around. Their steamed pork dumplings are soft and pair well with the sauce they provide. Their dishes are decently priced, and overall this was a really good dining experience.
Service quality is great. The place is cozy and romantic. Ordered 4 different dishes and they were all fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant. Jenny and J were our servers.
Creative rolls served at this homey sushi restaurant by the theaters. Perfect stop before or after a show. Super affordable and delicious. Rolls are decent sized and the Japanese appetizers are also really tasty.
There are lots of tables/seating, a little bit cramped but still comfortable. Space heaters all around the restaurant during winter to keep you warm.
For sushi before a show this is an affordable and casual location.
Started with yellowtail carpaccio. Wouldn’t get this because has no flavor at all.
All the black rice rolls looked good, but we had the black pearl and the black fire crunchy tuna. Both were delicious and complimentary. One with a little spice, and the scallops being more of a savory roll.
Sashimi deluxe was the rest of our meal
We've returned here over and over again almost yearly since 2005. Though we continue to try other restaurants, we always find ourselves happiest at Kodama. Tonight I had the beef nabeyaki udon, a close second to the sukiyaki in previous years. The plum wine is very sweet and tasty. My companion ordered the chicken katsu curry. As always, we enjoyed everything we ordered, as well as the friendly atmosphere and wonderful staff.
Came here for lunch service and I enjoyed it! Good and friendly service. I started off with the takoyaki dish and it was delicious, really well done. For the main, I had a shoyu ramen. I liked the texture of the noodles and the amount of it too. Good broth flavor too and really good pork. The pork had a nice smoky barbecue taste to it
Great staff, courteous and quick. Food was delicious, got the katsu pork curry and bento box. Great prices for the quality of the food and the amount you get. If you want to leave the hustle and bustle behind for a few minutes great place for lunch.

While visiting New York my family stopped at this restaurant for dinner. I stopped in for my first authentic bowl of Ramen Noodles. I didnt know what I was going to get, you never know. May I say they exceeded my expectations!! My noodles had a pork broth which was savory and creamy. My son had chicken broth that he loved. He now wants to move to New York to visit that restaurant every day. We also had a Bento box. The tempura was crunchy , everything was on point including the service. Loved It!!!
Great food and fast service. Loved the dumpling soup and sushi. My favorite was black rice sushi called Black Diamond. The Kodama sushi roll was good too.
