We randomly stopped in this restaurant for dinner while we were in NYC for the day. We were drawn to all the Christmas decor and were immediately seated. You feel like you are stepping into a little piece of Italy when you come in. The service was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of seating, this place is huge. The meals we got were: Gnocci Pesto, the meat ragu special (only on Sat/Sun), and the Chicken Shrimp Franchise. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and it was very filling. Absolutely loved the atmosphere!!
We wanted the best food in Little Italy, and this may have been it. Aside from an extremely drunk customer at a nearby table (part of the local flavor), it was a great evening.
We had lunch at Il Cortile and we loved every aspect of it. We arrived on time and our table was ready outside, as we described in the reservation. Service was impeccable. Food was the best Italian we’ve ever had in NYC. Everything tasted deliciously fresh. We finished up with their homemade Tiramisu and we don’t regret. Amazing place with great food, service and affordable. A perk in Little Italy.
This Italian restaurant in Little Italy is a true masterpiece! The interior exudes charm and elegance, creating a cozy atmosphere that feels like home. The outdoor seating area is also nice, perfect for enjoying a meal under the stars. Exceptional service, delectable cuisine, and a perfect blend of ambiance – an unforgettable dining experience!
My first time here and the food, service, and atmosphere were great. I love Italian food and have been to Italy a few times. This was as close to being there as I’ve ever been. The flavors in the food were so good and delicately combined. I had the rigatoni with cream sauce and the flavors of the shiitake mushrooms, shallots, garlic, were so nicely balanced in the cream sauce it was fantastic. Meatball was also top notch.
We arrived early and walking through Little Italy was a treat! The hostess was polite and genuine. She sat us upstairs and we had the homemade sangria. It was so delicious! Then we were seated in the courtyard. Table with linens and heavy silverware. They brought us bread! A man strolled and played the violin. We ordered an Italian salad. Chicken parmigiana with vodka sauce, the Ragu with spare ribs meatballs, sausage, and special Sugo. Our daughter ordered the seafood pasta with lobster, clams and calamari. Pasta was cooked to perfection and the flavors were outstanding. Our waiter was Angelo. He was very professional. At the end of the night he served us a 20 year old Port wine. They treated us like family. Salute!
Right in the middle of Little Italy on the festive Mulberry St - offers a classic NYC Little Italy dining experience. Nothing is out of this world (though the eggplant rollatini was pretty good!) and everything is a tad bit too expensive for what you get but there is something about being in one of these Italian American restaurants that's feels nostalgic NY. A tourist trap to some, and a fun NY experience to others. We had a good time.
First time dining at the indoor garden. As you walk in, the statues & decor offer you a glimpse of Roman splendor.
The moonlight cascading down from the skylight is breathtaking. We asked for recommendations from Manny the head chef. He was very accommodating & friendly to chat with.
Our meal was exquisite and the service was exceptional. Had the pleasure of meeting Tommy the proprietor and enjoying a glass of wine recommended by him while waiting across the street 2 hours earlier.
The Primitivo Riserva was so good I decided on a bottle for myself. Napa valley Caymus quality for 1/3 of the price. 👍👍
Fuhgeddaboudit. IL Cortile is the “Creme de la creme” of Mulberry st. 🥇🥇
A beautiful Italian restaurant with delicious food in Little Italy - NYC🗽🍝
We had an untraditional Thanksgiving dinner here, and it did not disappoint!
Atmosphere: The space has outdoor seating with a canopy over the tables, indoor seating in various rooms in the restaurant, and an indoor courtyard area. They have a small, unique seating area when you first come in that really sets the tone for the space (in a good way)! The courtyard area is in the back and provides a more secluded space for guests.
Service: Our waiters were friendly and made sure that all of our drinks were constantly filled. The food came out quickly despite the busyness of the evening picking up.
Menu items: They bring out a fresh assortment of bread at the beginning which helps to accommodate different preferences for everyone at the table. I got their Capellini Piselli e Prosciutto Speciali and loved it. The two things that I liked the most about the pasta was that the portion size was large and the pasta didn’t feel heavy in my stomach after I ate (and I ate the whole plate, hah)!
Il Cortile provides a great dining experience! If you’re ever in Little Italy, it would be my recommendation to you!
The service was superb!!I enjoyed the veal cutlet Parmigiana/penne.They were always attentive.Never had an empty glass of water.
