Service was good, food was tasty. Restaurant was able to adjust to my dietary needs. All day breakfast is always a good seller for me. Stopped in around dinner and got eggs and home fries

I eat here everytime we go to the Beacon for a show. I usually hit NYC 3 or 4 times a year and will ALWAYS stop in here for dinner..The menu is quite varied and the meals are like home cooked to me..The staff couldn't be nicer and the owners always remember us and are friendly as hell, even if we are Red Sox fans from Boston..This to me is a typical small neighborhood restaurant right in Manhatten.

Decent diner food. Half of the customers were grabbing a bite before a show at the Beacon. does tend to be very busy on nights when there's a show.

The best eggs benedict. Whenever we are in NYC we have breakfast here almost every morning. the eggs benedict traditional or my personal favorite the Salmon Eggs Benedict are fantastic. just the right mix of light crunchy muffin, perfectly poached eggs, light not to salty ltasty ox and a hollandaise that tastes fresh with just the right amount of lemon. the potatoes could use a bit more spice but they are not greasy with solid fresh potato flavor. service is very friendly and efficient!!! and if you are there for the turkey in any of its delicious varieties have it with the sweet potato fries - crunch on the outside mellow sweetness on the inside. and do not leave without the fresh squeezed orange juice!!!!! i can feed my husband, 2 hungry teenage boys and myself without going broke!!!

It's the best place in our neighbourhood. Food is delicious for a resonable price and must say, they Do Have The Best Turky in the city. Plus the stuff is extremly friendly, and my kids love them. They can accomodate big groups, never say a word about strollers or that kids are to loud. After few visits they treat You like an old friends . All my friends from this area Also know this place. Just check this out, you gonna love it'

I ordered a Reuben -- hearty rye bread and lean pastrami served with sauerkraut and melted cheese. It was served as an open-faced sandwich accompanied by potato salad. The sandwich was very good, the potato salad merely ok -- potatoes could have been cooked a little longer, and I would have liked more dressing. I brought half the sandwich home, it was that large.

I love the atmosphere of Viand with the crowd for brunch as it's a classic, bustling NYC diner. Expect a wait though on a Saturday and Sunday for brunch, it gets packed. It turns over pretty quickly though. They also have a counter in the back if you want to grab a spot and they have outdoor seating as well. We had salmon benedict, turkey bacon, pancakes, and waffles. All were very good for a classic diner.

We ate here 4 years ago when visiting NYC and loved it. Now, it's still a great place for any meal, and we've eaten here for all, including brunch. Tonight, we had dinner consisting of meatloaf, the turkey and quesadillas. Very large portions for not an astronomical price. The service is friendly, professional and efficient. Very highly recommend.

Been here at least a dozen times now. The service is amazing and food is top quality. Highly recommend the Turkey sandwich and the Roast Turkey dinner. Breakfast items are also great but a little expensive compared to alternatives in the area

The Viand is a classic NYC Diner with Vintage Tables & Booths in excellent shape... a great Menu of Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Small Plate assortments... a congenial & efficient Waitstaff... and it is right next-door to the Beacon Hotel where we usually stay on our periodic visits back to The City to get our much-needed dose of High Culture!

Great NYC diner fare with copious breakfast and brunch/ lunch options that can be ordered simultaneously during a.m.s. The tuna melt is a stand out at any time of the day. GREAT Fries! A sharply well-staffed operation with very friendly and attentive wait staff. Tables are expertly but gently turned at busy hours. Only caveat: coffee cups are on the small size and refills not promptly offered. But otherwise, a decent place for a good and filling feed. Very convenient to Beacon Theater and Hotel.

Enjoyed the waffle w/ strawberries & blueberries. The food is always fresh, the restaurant is clean and the selection is first rate. Oksana was our server and she is lovely and very efficient. The waitstaff is excellent.

Update— spoke to the owner. He apologized wholeheartedly and sincerely. That’s all I can ask. Mistakes happen and this is the way to handle them. We’ll be back. Original post: I often take my kid there for breakfast. The first few times we’ve gone they’ve been great— timely, responsive, and understanding. The most recent time we went the opposite happened. While we were seated, the staff moved the stroller. No problem— I understand that the diner gets busy. As we went to leave, I put the little one’s coat on in the stroller— in the location where the staff put it. Figured I was doing what was most convenient. A member of the staff came over and yelled at us and loudly huffed away. I was annoyed and asked to talk to the manager. The manager and the staff member fabricated some story where I was changing him in the restaurant and blamed us. I’m appalled. If it’s too busy to accommodate us, I understand— just say something. But don’t yell at us when we’re preparing to leave and doing so where we were relocated to. Aside from the experience it’s a classic diner. It’s fine without kids. Don’t bring your kids. And we won’t be going back.

Great diner. Great service, good coffee, eggs Benedict and delicious freshly squeezed OJ. We had a wonderful waitress Oksana. Ate on the covered patio which was very warm unlike some patio in winter time in NYC

Spacious decent dinner. Not cheap like dinner but more like restaurant price big plate dinner food kinda place now. Always fast service, decent food (nothing will blow your mind), and convenient location if you’re around the neighborhood.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Really big portions. The panini could easily be shared by two. Chiken souvlaki was terrific (my fav) They have a large attractive outdoor terrace. Can't wait to go back.

My husband said we got anything we would expect from a diner: normal coffee, sandwiches, soups, entree, and pies. The blueberry pie we ordered was okay, but definitely was not what we expected for almost eight dollars. The Turkey sandwich was kind of plain, which was not what I expected from reading others recommendations. Maybe order real Turkey instead of sandwich meat next time? Overall, it was good as a diner if one wants to have a regular diner experience.

Solid diner. Service was great. But it’s expensive! $20+ for basic diner sandwiches. Coffee and a Reuben cost $35 with tax and tip. Food was good and portions were generous, though. If you’re looking for a cheap bite, this isn’t it.

Quaint place with classic vibes and attentive staff. The chocolate chip cake was divine! Came after watching a show at The Beacon and Viand is one of the few places in the neighborhood that are open past 9pm. Really relaxing hour in the diner.

We had a good experience at Viand Cafe. We decided to keep it simple and go with an omelette, a side of eggs and a bagel. The omelette was well made and tasted really good. The side of eggs tasted fine. And finally, the bagel was fresh and toasted well. The service wasn’t great and it was a bit expensive for a diner however we did have a good meal. Four stars.
