Been in NYC this week. Remembered this place from a few years ago and headed back for breakfast 2 mornings during our stay. Excellent as always and worth the 20 minute walk to get there.
I love this place! It is fast, inexpensive, and convenient to so many places. The food is far better than the average diner cuisine, and the staff is friendly and polite.
The bellman at our hotel recommended that we might enjoy eating here. It was delicious, wait staff very attentive. Yes, I will go back and I will recommend this to my friends.

Luv the staff, so attentive and breakfast is always great!
Best place in NY for a good meal at a reasonable price.
The food was fantastic as well as the waitress! When I opened the menu there were so many good choices!!
Två kvällar i rad var vi o åt hos er. Nöjda. Bra mat bra priser o framförallt inte massa turister.
Good food! Served fast! And always hot! We have eaten here twice in two days!
Not easy to find in midtown, this is a great NY diner style breakfast spot. Expanded and clean, offers huge menu selection. Very friendly quick service. This place has been around for at least 20 years. Highly recommended for a NY breakfast experience.
Neat. Clean. Quick. Great location. Friendly staff. We could have Bfast here every morning and did. The only thing we missed was capers with the lox.
first experience with an American breakfast. Ithink the only but fatal drawback of this place is that you must eat fast so you can't completely enjoy your meal. and this is really bad because I was enjoying my breakfast as it was tasty
Best diner in NYC! We ate here several times during our holiday in the city and it was fantastic every time! It is always very busy, especially at breakfast so we knew it would be good. Service and staff are extremely efficient and the food quality is great! Perfect for a great cheap feed. Highly recommend breakfast!
Solid breaky diner with big smiles and plates of fast fresh hot food...great value in midtown location.
Good little greasy spoon place! Recommend the waffles with strawberries and cream
What a great diner. The food and service is consistently good. Had breakfast there 5 out of 7 days in NYC. Had a great lunch too. The quality of the food and the speed of service is unbeleivable. Highly recommended!
Great start to your day. Each time I stay at the Algonquin Hotel, I walk here for breakfast. It is such a great way to start the day, even before 5:00. One morning I kept my eye on this big bowl of mixed fruit back in the kitchen...looked awesome. All day I wish I had chosen fruit rather than my oatmeal and bacon (those where good, but the fruit just kept calling my name). So the next morning I went with the fruit...best decision all day: fruit and coffee at Red Flame!
Classic diner menu, good portions, decent food, clean.
Good food, breakfast all day
Awesome pancakes, tast like Mom used to make!!!
The Red Flame is a neat little coffee shop at street level with huge windows to allow those seated in the booths next to them a chance to do some stellar people watching while eating breakfast. It sort of reminded me of the coffee shop depicted on "Seinfeld".
New York is perhaps best known for pizza and diners; classic diners pop up on almost every block and vary wildly from truly awful to exactly the type of hearty comfort food you need. How do you begin to distinguish between those that are good...
Fast service from a well organized & hardworking team. Delicious food. Prices in line with the rest of Manhattan. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Great diner on W 44th st. Huge menu, prompt service and good food. It was busy for lunch but a table was available. Prices were reasonable.

This place was recommended to us and didn't disappoint. We had soup and grape leaves. Quick lunch stop. Nothing fancy but worth the visit!
Quick service! Home Fries are perfect! No grease and nicely browned! Delicious eggs… perfectly poached. Good coffee. A great diner in the middle of Manhattan!!
Red Flame was near our hotel, so we decide to stop in for breakfast. The location was nice and bright, if not a little snug with the seating. The good was good overall, tho the hollandaise sauce on my Benedict was dry on the surface. The servers were quick and efficient but not really friendly. Smallest coffee cups, ever!

Great experience! The staff is super efficient and nice. Very attentive on coffee and water refills. (They actually came by to refill my water after I typed this lol) The food came out so fast and was exactly as ordered. This place can get pretty busy but they seem to have a good system down! The everything bagel was amazing 🤩
Very tasty breakfast although a bit expensive, but probably normal for New York. Service is fast and although the place looks small (be aware that they have a second floor) you don’t have to wait long for a table. Pretty decent experience.
Fun quick place to have brunch in NYC. Quick, friendly service. Nice waiters. Fun atmosphere.
They add a service charge when you pay with cc which is a little annoying, but. Ot enough to take a star away.
We would come back. The place was nice, the service was good and the food came out fast. The food was ok.
Standard Manhattan diner with the expected enormous menu and pan-Euro-American offerings.
Service was lightning-fast on our visit and we were very pleased by how clean the restaurant was.
Food is solidly middling; nothing to write home about, but fills the belly.
