My daughter works at the Intrepid and we were looking for a casual place to get a quick bite to eat, on the water and Google maps directed us here. Pub fare and seafood. Some vegetarian options. You order your food at the bar, get a buzzer, then pick up your food at the kitchen counter. Drinks are fabulous and the atmosphere was fun and young. Most people were dressed very casually but some were dressed to impress. Maybe because this was the first stop of many. You are literally on the water. Historic fire boat that served during the 9/11 attack is docked next to the restaurant. Really cool place to get a drink or a quick bite. I'm an older adult, that visited with my family, including my mother, and we all had a nice, relaxing time.
The setting and atmosphere was absolutely amazing viewing New York, New Jersey and Manhattan from the Hudson River shoreline. I recommend the White Sangria, Calamari and Fish & Chips!!! We went for a quick lunch during our walk along the river, but stayed for 3 hours! A must go place when visiting NYC!
Cozy little gem off the beaten path. Incredible views on the top deck to accompany your ice cold beer. Lobster Grilled Cheese was heaven and the staff could not have been nicer. Will definitely return.
Excellent food. Loved the boiled shrimp, the poke tacos, the calamari, hummus and pita, and the veggie burger. The view is absolutely gorgeous. A treasure.
Great place on the water. Perfect for a sunset date. The view is spectacular. It is an order and serve yourself place which is nice. Staff is friendly and helpful and the food was delicious!!! Will go back fir sure!
Still awesome after all these years... about that boat life, bring the πΆ Grab some sangria maybe a lobster roll π€drink rum in the sun or grab a pitcher for the fam. Best outdoor bar in NYC!
I can't wait to go back again to eat another lobster roll, fries, and drink their white sangria!
I was walking around the area around 3 PM on Sunday. It was a beautiful day and I didn't have to wait in line for any seating. I just walked in without a reservation and there were several tables available I could pick from. I really enjoyed the views of the Hudson River and the feeling of being on a boat.
What a fabulous place to sit and have a few drinks. Had some great food too! Definitely recommend if youβre down in Chelsea near the piers
Nice little place on the water! Food was great! We had the fish and chips, fish tacos, burger and chicken sandwich.
Amazing location, view, beers and food. Definitely recommend for anyone in the area for a summertime happy hour.

The food was awesome, the atmosphere was fantastic, the views are spectacular and the concept itself is pretty darn cool
Hands down one of the best places to enjoy the Spring/Summer Weather with beer, tasty drinks, surprisingly good food, and great service. Easy to spend a full day here.

My girlfriends took me for a day in the city for my bday -- this was our first stop ..it's their Favorite --& now mine too !! will be visiting again soon --loved seeing the boats coming in and out .. helicopters landing along the water - views of Jersey's skylines and the Statue of Liberty in all her glory is in sight !! it's an experience!! 5βοΈ for sure !!!
Fun place, Beautiful View, good food and drinks. A great gathering place.
This place is a fantastic American πΊπ² restaurant! π΄ The Frying Pan π³ is an iconic boat π’ docked on the Hudson River π that offers a wonderful selection of delicious π€€ burgers π, sandwiches π₯ͺ, salads π₯, seafood π¦, oysters π¦ͺ and more alongside nice drinks π₯€ - definitely try the Fried β¨οΈ Chicken π Sandwich with Fries π and The Chelsea cocktail πΉ (has vanilla, cinnamon, and coffee β)! The staff π¨βπ³ is super friendly and welcoming, service is quick β²οΈ, the place is beautifully decorated ποΈ, the ambience πΆ is fantastic, and the view πͺ of the water π¦ and city ποΈ is incredible! They have plenty of seating πͺ across the boat β΅ and pier and accept walk-ins. πΆ I wish I came here more often!
First off this place is a place to go for the views. The NYC views. It looks so beautiful when the sun is going down. There is a reservation spot up on the roof which can be romantic. Other than that its self serve. The lobster roll is one of the best ones I've had in NY so far. Chicken sandwich is a hit or miss. And the fish tacos are flavorful and not fishy. The helicopter tour is right next to it so you will be interrupted by helicopters landing and taking off
We had the boat to ourselves it seemed. The ambience was so pleasant we stayed for hours watching the sky darken, as night fell. You can buy beers from the pier and bring them on board. Everything about it was magical. The gentle movement of the vessel was calming too.
The food here has improved over the years. The place is still the top destination for waterfront bar experience! I have to especially recognize how clean they've maintained the bathroom here, it's exceptional for being in the NYC bar scene and on a swinging barge!
I go mostly when my kid is sailing or at the HRCS Boathouse. The food is excellent and the view of the River is nice. If you are sensitive to the barge moving it might not be a great fit because the barge does move with the tide and wake of larger boats that pass by.
The food is delicious but because of the location it can be windy out and if you are not careful things can blow off the table and in the river which I observed a few times at adjacent tables. It could use some heavy weight objects at a table to hold down napkins etc.
I enjoy the Lobster PLT.
Excellent place for seafood. It had awesome vibe. Adults only place due to the alcohol. You order yourself and pick up your own food. Is really nice on sunny βοΈ day. If you go out to the end of the pier you can have 180 degree view of the water. The 1lb peel and eat shrimp π¦π€ is very nice. The tacos are nice. Also the fish n chips is large portion
One of the coolest restaurants Iβve ever been. I love the fact that this is actually a ship.
Food was delicious and the atmosphere just incredible
Had been on my list of places to visit and it did not disappoint. The food was good, the drink was delicious once we mixed it. I was getting a bit of motion sickness from the boat rocking but tolerable.
Overall rating: 4.8
Man, I have not been here in a minute. When my friend told me we were hanging out here, I wasnβt that excited because my memory of it in my 20s were meh.
That said, wow, has it upgraded?! I only have one photo but it is back on my favorites and will definitely be visited again.
Great for small or large groups. enjoy!
Gorgeous boat with a ton of seating options and areas and good, reasonably-priced food! Great for big groups because of space and also because you order at the bar and everyone pays for themself.
A fun getaway in our home turf (or is that home surf?). Good draft beers, fun cocktails like the Spicy Watermelon Rita, and good seafood fare plus salads and burgers for the non-fish lovers. Multiple doors and levels to sit, both outside and covered. A fun time.
Love the vibe, you can watch sunset on this giant boat. The bar is the best, love all the drinks especially the signature white sangria, the appetizers are so-so.
But given the prices, this is a solid place for dates, for family and friends.
Will come back next time!
Had a nice lunch on a hot Saturday afternoon. Weβre eating Keto and the restaurant was perfectly happy to alter our brunch Maryland crab cake hollandaise to suit our needs. Service was friendly. Place was clean. Great for small and large parties and kid friendly.

It was a pretty cool environment, especially with them being able to sit us directly along the water on the pier. I tried the fish and chips and loved the malt vinegar powder sprinkled over it. The flavor was great with and without the tartar sauce, and the portions were plenty enough for me (I'm a big eater). My wife got the lobster roll, which had huge pieces of lobster and wasn't too mayonnaise-y. We also shared the calamari, which was a little chewy, but overall well-breaded and had a tasty, tangy, dipping sauce.
It's an incredible place. The view of the city is spectacular. They could improve on the food and the presentation of the dishes but it's ok.
I canβt speak to the bar scene here, but I was at the Frying Pan on a weekday for a work event at it was gorgeous. The food was surprisingly good for a bar, and the views were spectacular. Iβll be coming back.
