Great variety of delicious vegan and non vegan baked goods and any kind of dairy or non dairy milk you require with your coffee or tea. A great neighbourhood coffee shop and no grumpiness evident from our servers!

Very tasty almond croissant. Coffee quite good. Only two other customers here - Australian accents! Australians clearly seek out the better coffee places. Cappucino was quite good!

The no laptop policy is something that I liked the most. It makes the area  tech free, people actually participating conversations and reading books.

The coffee is amazing , quiet clean cafe and great baristas.

Coffee was the best I've had in New York but it felt like the owner has fallen out of love with the business. Left the kids in charge and went back to work elsewhere. Floors dirty and 'garden' very unloved.

The best coffee I have ever had!!. This place is amazing!!! Easily the best coffee I have ever had. They use the best espresso and the best milk which creates amazing drink that not only taste great but look phenomenal. The art they create on the drinks are amazing to look at. I visited here as much as I could during my vacation for coffee and some little dainties.

Exceptional Coffee in Chelsea. What a change - just a few years ago, good coffee seemed to avoid Manhattan, but thanks to pioneers like Brooklyn's Cafe Grumpy, you can finally get a fantastic cup in the city. Serious coffeehounds will love the espresso (you can choose from the house blend or some single origin espressos) and for the drip lovers out there - this cafe sports dual Clovers!

Both times I was satisfied with my drink choice. This was my first time having a flat white, which is a drink similar to a latte that was developed in Australia and New Zealand. The drink is made with a double shot of espresso and steamed milk, but it has a stronger espresso flavour than a latte because the proportions of espresso are larger. If you are looking for a place to grab a quick cup of coffee or socialize you should check out Cafe Grumpy. Recommendation: Yes, for a good coffee. Tagged: feature

A Twitter suggestion saw us head a few blocks down town to Café Grumpy. The cafe is quite small and the food offering limited to a pastry cabinet.

The honey oak latte will make anyone feeling grumpy smile. The sweetness is just about right and the baristas do a credible job with their artistry in the cup. One feature I really like is that you can get a real cup over paper waste if you are there to stay. Atmosphere is pleasant and this is a good stopping place.

Nice shop with varied menu of coffee, tea, and baked goods. Plenty of seats for two but not much space for groups bigger. Got a nice patio for outdoor seating and even grumpy merch. I ordered a latte which was pretty tasty. They also sell beans here for $20 a bag.

Sustainability: Some compostable plastics, others no. Heavy plastic waste but they do have a discount for bringing in your own cup and can do hot and cold drinks in glass/ceramic to stay. They try, and with some tweaks could become more sustainable. Would like to see more organic/fair trade products. Overall ok but still a work in progress to eliminate as much waste as possible. Service: Friendly and quick. Drinks: Very good drinks. Flavorful. I enjoyed the vanilla latte and the honey and oat iced latte. Ambiance: Simple ambiance, back room is very Spartanly decorated. Value: One of the most expensive coffee shops I’ve been to. $5.50-6.50 is pricey for a drink, even for a sustainably sourced and iced one in Manhattan. Would come back overall.

I went to pick up the coffee beans I ordered yesterday. And I was so excited to try it as soon as I get back to airbnb. I use the hand grinder I carry it around when I am traveling. And do the dripping instead of syphon when I was in Taiwan. And the color is so beautiful, and it has lots of fruit acidity. I love it so much. 😀🤞

Tasty almond croissant and flat white. Nice cosy atmosphere. Coffee is a little on the dark roasted side but fine with milk.

Went for a coffee just before the 6th Avenue spring fair and I must admit I went partially for the name but man this place was good , a real laidback bohemian vibe. Had to buy the some of the merch with the Grumpy logo as its pretty cool. A really nice place for a laid back Sunday morning coffee

Love this coffee house. Delcious coffee. Speedy and super kind service. And plenty of seating both indoor and out. Great place to get work done. You will be far from grumpy if you go here.

Moved to the city a few weeks ago from London, and this has become my go-to spot for feeding my caffeine addiction. The coffee is good and strong, the staff is friendly and chill, the space feels well-ventilated. I like that there is no internet! Better energy. My one suggestion for improvement is that the menu would benefit from some savory / cooked options. But it’s a coffee shop, and they do coffee well, so that’s five stars. ☕️

A lovely and cosy cafe in Chelsea, with tasteful cakes, seets and sandwiches. Service is immediate and the staff kind. Inside and outside sitting. No WiFi. Cards accepted. Intereseting customers.

Great outdoor patio in the back with decent hot beverage selection, but no WiFi. Great for meeting up with a friend over coffee.

When I checked the nearest coffee shop, I found this with good review. I know that they have seasons of the month menu so I asked for it. I chose Honey Oat Latte and it is not disappointing at all. The taste and smell of honey and oat are strong, I like it. This is the best coffee I tasted so far in my entire life. My friend likes it too but she prefers a stronger coffee taste and less honey taste. Well... it is a preference.

This is a nice and cozy, cute little cafe in the heart of Chelsea. The coffee is a little pricy, but that’s expected at the given location.

When I was 7, I got lost while on a family trip. The world was huge and scary. I was cold, surrounded by strangers and unsure where to go. Then I saw my father. He picked me up, hugged me and I felt warm, welcomed, and comfortable. This coffee shop gives that same feeling, but with excellent coffee, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. They have no Wi-Fi or power plugs and it’s still my favorite place to work outside of home. Check it out, and get the breve latte. It’s delicious!
