We loved our dinner restaurant visit to Sardi's in theater district before seeing A Fish In The Dark …new Larry David play. The food was great -- yummy lobster and crabmeat sandwich stuffed with seafood and not very mayoish. We enjoyed the service and old NY charm of the place. My husband had salmon with veggies; perfect meal choice…he loved it. We shared a lemon cheesecake with fruit on the side; perfect sweet way to end a great meal. The tea with lemon and honey at the bar while I waited for my husband to arrive was perfect touch on a cold NY night. And my husband has a whisky recommended by the head waiter; perfection in a shot glass. Go to this restaurant if you want great yummy food classics, wow service and a low-key but friendly vibe all at prices that are right for quality and quantity of the food options.

Wonderful restaurant that has held onto its' heritage without feeling aged. Great staff. The cannaloni au gratin is heaven on a plate.

This place was great! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I surprised my daughter with a trip to NYC for her 16th birthday this place was on the agenda. Having grown up longing to eat here from the very first time I saw that Kermit the Frog had eaten here when I was little. :) I had the pork chops and my daughter had a chicken pasta dish. My only complaint was the waiter was a little rude at first and kind of turned his nose up at us, but other than that everything was great. We ended up sitting right under Cyndi Lauper & Bebe Neuwirth"s pictures which I couldn't have planned if I tried, they are two of my heroes! We sat there and just took it all in and hopefully someday her picture will be on those walls. Thank you Sardi's for making her birthday trip a success!

Awesome experience! Visited on a whim while in town on a December Saturday afternoon, & luckily our party of 3 was able to be seated quickly. Alfonso & Jose took exceptional care of us from menu recommendations, to explaining the caricatures & restaurant history, to attentive & top-notch service. Our food was absolutely delicious...we had the fusili pasta, spinach lasagna, and chicken & beet salad!! Would highly recommend & will definitely be returning!

Our ladies party of six had dinner reservations on a Saturday night before The Lion King performance. After being seated, it took 25 minutes to get a server. Once we got a server (Alfonso maybe?) he was adorable and made our meal and cocktails arrive in time to make the show. I split a burger and fries which were absolutely delicious and we all shared apps. Also delicious. I loved returning to Sardis, such a classic.

Such attention to detail. We arrived late because traffic in the city was awful, our server understood and took charge. We had tickets for a 7:00 show and arrived at 5:30 but made curtain with a few minutes to spare. We went back after the show and they reserved a table by the windows for us and remembered we were celebrating a birthday. They made us feel very special.

Food was delicious. Recommend the Spinach & ricotta lasagna. Our server, Ellie, was excellent. Friendly atmosphere. Energetic vibe and talkative atmosphere. Family friendly. Feels like stepping back in time.

Old school classic Italian. The waiters and the decor in the dining room really takes you back in time to much more elegant NYC. The food itself was just so-so, but the service was fantastic and waters/wine were constantly refilled and dirty dishes removed quickly and efficiently. The smoked salmon appetizer was good, though the multi-grain bread served alongside was a bit stale. Prosciutto and melon were a nice combo of savory and sweet, enough to share for 2. The reaction to the pastas were mixed: we all agreed the meat-filled cannelloni were filling and rich with the bechamel sauce. In contrast, the rigatoni Bolognese was bland and watery, as if it wasn't drained properly. All in all, a nice lunch near Times Square, in the middle of the theatre district.

Sardi's in New York City is a timeless gem! The lively atmosphere is like no other, buzzing with excitement and theatrical charm. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a world where Broadway legends and theater history come to life. The walls adorned with caricatures of stars past and present add a unique touch to the ambiance. The energy is infectious, making it a fantastic spot for pre- or post-show gatherings. Whether you're a theater enthusiast or simply seeking a fun, classic New York experience, Sardi's delivers in spades. It's a delightful slice of NYC's entertainment history, and I highly recommend soaking in the fun atmosphere here.

This was a last minute pick and I did not have reservations. I felt lucky to get in. The place is white table cloth fancy with plenty of staff…which is hard to come by these days! The service was very quick and friendly. My only complaint is the Angus Burger bun was ridiculously thick and way too big to fit in my mouth. I chose to eat it without a bun with a folk which is not how I like to eat a burger. The caricatures of stars were framed all around the large two story restaurant was so fun to look at and all were singed by the star. The bar was small but really cool. The bathroom was upstairs which seems against AIA codes. Disabled people are screwed. I’d recommend for abled bodied adults only.

I spilled my glass of water on the table and created a nightmare, but it was cleaned immediately with new cloth and reset. They were so sweet about it. The shrimp and rice I had is not to be forgotten as it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Another favorite place to people watch!. We always go before our shows but make a reservation.

A NYC highlight and Broadway tradition not to be missed. Fairly easy to get a reservation - (hint) book for mid-afternoon while everyone is at a show. Punctual wait staff and great menu. We had the lentil stew and it was delicious. About all those characters on the wall - ask to see the notebook to find your favorite star! This is “old school” service and food we all crave and miss but is still to be found (today) at Sardi’s.

I'm surprised by the negative reviews I've read. I've lived in New York City for many years, however this was my first experience at Sardi's. I took my wife for dinner before seeing a beautiful noise at the theater across the street. We both thought the service, food and ambiance made for a very enjoyable evening. Sardi's definitely still has it and I would definitely recommend .

A++ service, clean, quiet, professional and very proper service etiquette. Pictures of celebrity caricatures from each visitor. Food was great, delicious, properly plated and quality was on point. Tiramisu was delicious with sugar crystals on the lady fingers and light coffee notes throughout

First time here. Food was good... French onion soup and the prosciutto with melon were very good. We had the classic bolognese and the jumbo shrimp with rice. Both very tasty. Fun looking at the caricatures.

Sardi's was amazing! The food was perfection, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was cool! Caricatures of famous film and tv actors as well as Broadway actors line the walls ans they're never in the same spots for long. I went to my first Broadway show (POTUS -it was funny!) and we went to dinner afterwards. I had the best salad of my life there. Baby Kale with raspberry vinaigrette, dried cranberries, walnuts, goat cheese and finely sliced onions. The best ever! We shared a type of sampler which was so good and I had the filet mignon with creamy mashed potatoes and 3 thick stalks of asparagus! Yum! For desert I had the granny Smith apple crumble with vanilla ice cream on top. I'm on of the few people on earth who doesn't like vanilla ice cream, so I asked them to drizzle chocolate syrup on top. It was delicious!! The display for each plate was beautiful! It was an expensive dinner but worth it! See the photos. They say it all!! Also, I got to meet Vanessa Williams who is in POTUS and she autographed the playbill!! Big bonus!!

Visited on 10/8/2022. I attempted to make a last minute reservation, but did not get an online response by the time that I chose. The host was accommodating to myself and my daughter and found us a seat immediately. All of the servers were friendly and attentive, giving extra attention to my 6 year old and her first real dining experience. The food was delicious, the steak filet medallions were cooked perfectly to my liking. Of course the ambiance with the caricatures of famous patrons cannot be replicated anywhere and adds a unique element. Very high remarks for the great service I received from the host and staff, and also for the food.
