Excellent food and cocktails! Friendly staff and cool atmosphere with lots of wood and rusty steel appointments. Must visit if you’re thirsty or hungry in East Village!

I am trying to think of a restaurant with more flavorful food in NYC. Can’t think of any. This place is off the hook delicious! The atmosphere is excellent and the staff is super nice. A new favorite spot for us!

Great wait-staff, great beer, and even better atmosphere. Definitely the sort of place that's worth going out of your way to visit, but it's pretty centralized.

What a great place! Delicious food and nice staff. LOVED the 3 pickle choices we had and each of our entrees was top shelf. The happy hour made it lighter on the wallet and they had my FAVORITE rose!! Win, Win!!

Chef Dave never disappoints. My favorite is the veggie burger - perhaps the best around. And the fries.. oh the fries. Dave uses a truffle oil with them so they are amazing. I also go for the blackened chicken. Don't miss the pickles bar and the apps. Tonight will be fried green tomato caprice.

My party shared some appetizers, I tried the Warm Goat Cheese Dish and the Tiger Shrimp Lettuce Wraps. Both were very tasty! The crispy flat bread that came with the cheese was perfect. The environment was different (in a good way) but still inviting. Service was great too.

Terrific service, food and atmosphere. Get the mac and cheese. And Ford's Gin. Oh and they have also mastered guac and chips. You can tell a great place when all the employees are so happy to be there and sincere in their service.

We were in New York for the day yesterday and stumbled upon this quaint place. The food was amazing. My brother and I both had burgers and my daughter and niece had meatball parmesan subs. Everyone was friendly and the service was fast. Highly recommended.

We were only in Manhattan for 4 days, but ended up at Boulton & Watt twice.

First time we stumbled across it when looking for somewhere for lunch after a great visit to the Tenement Museum. We quickly discovered that it was an excellent spot to while away a rainy afternoon drinking rose and enjoying the excellent menu. The bar and wait staff were all incredibly friendly and when the world cup game started they revealed a secret hidden TV right by our table so we didn't have to move.

We wanted to ensure we could watch the England game somewhere comfortable with a good brunch the following morning so returned and had another excellent experience. Food was again good and bloody marys and mimosas were only $6 - you just couldn't ask for better.

Special thanks to the young girl that served us both days, she was so polite and helpful and really made sure we had a great time.

Boulton and Watt is a great way to get out of the ho- hum of Midtown Manhattan and explore some of Manhattan’s neighborhoods. This place is terrific for Business Travelers and anyone who wants to entertain clients, colleagues, friends or coworkers. The noise level might be a little higher than usual but certainly manageable. Crowd seemed professional on my visit. Not a place for a quiet dinner. Start here and leave yourself time to walk around and explore some of the small shops, bars and restaurants both new and old throughout the Lower East Side. The spot is centrally located putting you

Like many other East Villagers I was sad to see Nice Guy Eddies close.  The KISS mural outside was a bit of a neighborhood landmark, the food wasn’t the best (I was a fan of the wings) and the place was pretty dingy, but it was a chill place to get a beer & watch some sports.  Neighborhoods change so I figured that a cocktail bar or an upscale restaurant would move in and that I’d hate it, not so with Boulton & Watt. As soon as you walk in, you’ll notice that gone is the dive sports bar decor in favor of a much more industrial look (steampunk anyone?) with belt driven fans as well as exposed brick and duct work.  Gothamist calls it ‘ old timey ‘, I’m not sure if I’d agree with that, but I do think the place looks great. Before I get onto the food, I’d like to note that I was invited by the restaurant’s PR firm & I did NOT pay for my meal.  I’ve only done this a few times before & I’ve always made sure to mention this fact in my posts & it in no way influences my review. I had the recent good fortune to be invited to a tasting at Boulton & Watt, which turned out to be directly across the street from my new favorite market, Union Market . Since my visit to the Strand – which, by the way, has a new executive chef with whom I am personal friends and is an amazing BBQ master – I’ve been obsessed with hot alcoholic drinks. Though there was no cocktail on the menu that was hot, when I mentioned I wanted something warm and boozy to drink, our server – who was extremely helpful and kind of cute – suggested a hot toddy. Mine came quickly, scented with clove, sweet, lemony, and just worked nicely. Especially because it was really heavy on the bourbon. YUM. After a bit of browsing of the menu, Cheese and I decided to be a little piggy because I wanted to try a lot of things. First up: the pickled items. Everyone kept raving about the pickled jars of items, so I chose two: brussels sprouts and beets, two of my fave winter time veggies. The beets were great, as exp

We were supposed to grab a late sandwich at Katz but it was already closed and Bolton and Watt is right around the corner. It was a pleasing surprise. Great music, good cocktails (I had the mint spritz) and good food (the quinoa salad was delicious).

Came here on a weekend during a World Cup game, and as a result it presumably was much more crowded than it typically would be mid-day. The space is nice and open, with a long high top table separating the bar from seating along the windows facing Houston St. The cocktail list was comprehensive, with several seasonal variations on classics and a few house signatures. Service was a little bogged down with how busy it was during the game, but everyone was nice enough. TV quality was subpar, so not exactly the best place to catch a major event, though that certainly doesn’t seem to be the focus of this gastropub. Update- stopped back here the following week and was able to work through some of the cocktail menu. Particularly like the Midnight in Eden and Album Cover Collector.

Pros - FANTASTIC cocktail menu. Great options for all main spirits. - Friendly staff. Accommodating & knowledgeable. - Delicious food. Steak frites, amazing. Vegetarian meatballs, amazing. Pot pie, amazing. Queso fundido, delish (less mushrooms preferred though). - Beautiful, rustic decor. Cons - You may want to try every cocktail on the menu. Beware. They all sound amazing.

Great food and a great location. The staff are nice and the venue has a rustic vibe. The environment has low lighting and loud music. They have outdoor seating and downstairs seating too The portions are decent in size with an average entree costing $15. Eat those chips and guacamole with a smile on your face, because you know you’re in for a good time. Hope this helps!

I've been to NYC twice and have made a point of eating a B&W each time. It is so good! I wish I'd taken a picture of my Moscow Mule for this review. It was beautiful; it didn't come in a copper mug, but it did come with candied ginger as a garnish. I had fish & chips, my husband had the steak, and on my previous visit I had the burger. Everything on this menu satisfies your hunger and will set your taste buds to dancing with glee. They have indoor & outdoor seating, and a really calm ambiance.

Such a fun spot to stop for dinner. We came for some drinks and I ordered the fish tacos which were delicious - perfectly fried - and topped with pico and avocado! The impossible burger was also delicious, it came with caramel iced onions which was perfect with the cheddar cheese. The rosemary fries were phenomenal. I highly recommend the cookie for dessert! It’s served a la mode and comes to the table warm in a mini skillet. The horchata and tequila frozen drink was so good for a chillier summer night. The service here was so good. The servers were super attentive and friendly!

We tripped upon this place and were drawn in by the cool exterior design which could be described as Industrial Comfort. There was so much to look at with and the food was incredible. It was one of those places you could stop in for a quick bite and then easily stay all day because it offers such a friendly and laid back atmosphere. They offer a variety of unusual twists on eggs Benedict for brunch and it was incredible. Also burgers and other delicious salads and some good comfort food options.
