Loved this new place in Union Square! Excellent spicy margaritas and the sushi Tiger rolls were delish! The truffle fries were amazing and the service was super friendly. I loved the happy hour experience but I will def return for dinner sometime soon too. I def recommend!

The atmosphere was charming , well lit (hate when restaurants are dark and call it romtantic), and very open. In NYC, it's rare to not feel crowded. The food was very good (I had the mushroom toast appetizer, and the rabbit for my main with a side of squash). It was all delicious. The wine selection was ample. And the best part was our waiter Charles. He was funny and attentive. I highly recommend this place.
What an incredible place, absolutely great food, food to die for from a foodie and impeccable service! Chris our waiter made the experience an incredible one, his knowledge of the food was outstanding and he was talking to a Korean!! Lol This is a must visit when in NYC!!
Highly Recommend!!! Good vibes, Amazing Drinks & Food and of course Great service!
**Happy Hours totally worth it!**
I always love this Korea fusion bar restaurant! 1st time back after they relocated (from a few blocks Away). Good food as always and the decor is really charming.
It's a very convenient spot in Union Square to meet up with friends for happy hours and dinner. Needless to say, I will definitely keep frequent this joint.
The ramen was amazing. And you can't skip the beef wontons..... absolutely delicious!
Great place! We popped in for a quick snack and a drink at happy hour. Loved the shrimp potstickers and truffles fries
Great spot for Korean Tapas, Sake and awesome happy hour specials... Fried asparagus is to die for!!
I've been coming here since they opened 3 years ago. It keeps getting better and better. Great service, happy staff and always a flavorful dining experience! I've brought many many friends here and will continue to do so. Love the Soy/Garlic chicken wings, spicy pork tacos and all the cocktails.
The food is really good. I love the oyster there, very fresh. .. I recommend this place

I would definitely come back! Very authentic place and food is delicious!!
Love this place! Time to get back there. The food is fabulous and the cocktails even better!
Just happened in by accident. Impeccable service, food, ambiance, and a warm welcome. Highly recommend. We love the upstairs dining area. We will return.
Great vibe and ambiance. Great place for drinks and food. Strongly recommended.
Went for a birthday celebration. Great atmosphere. Two levels. Upper level BBQ. Lower level bar.
Food is good. The most memorable part was the staff - super nice and helpful. Our grill didn’t work well, more steaming the meats than grilling. The staff kept trying different configurations and it finally worked. The bimbimbop was not hot stone sizzling, the staff tried another order for us. Still only lukewarm. The manager comped us.
It was a good celebration.
If you’re looking for delicious food and extremely kind service, Barn Joo is the place to go. We opted for regular dinner service instead of barbecue (which I will definitely have to return for), seated on the downstairs level of the massive restaurant building. Our servers were extremely kind, offered helpful recommendations, and our food and drinks came out incredibly fast. We ordered citrus salt and pepper wings to start, which were crispy yet juicy and flavorful inside: traditional Korean-style fried chicken wings. Our main courses were the Sashimi Bibimbap (a rice bowl topped with a giant serving of fresh salmon, tuna, microgreens, and much more) and the Japchae (sweet potato glass noodles stir-fry with the seafood option). Both were delicious, and the serving was more than large enough. For dessert, you cannot forgo the Bing Soo, a dish which came with ice cream, berries, mochi, and sweet red beans over shaved milk ice. Overall, the ambiance and quality food make this place a must-try.
I recommend Barn Joo. It's a nice place. The food is delicious 😋 😍. The only thing I would say is it took some time for our server to come and take our order. We had to flag someone to come and take our order.
Good food, good drink and decent service. This Barn Joo location took advantage of the old setting of Heartland Brewery, where is a great place for lunch, after work meet up near Union Square or outdoor quick drink place. It’s a versatile establishment, and it is definitely a go to spot to try the Barn Joo experience!
Really nice experience, this place has been around for several years now and I see why! Very friendly staff, BEAUTIFUL ambience and decor. The food is quite good, two of us got enough for three and enjoyed every last bit - bit of a Korean Grastropub fusion. The atmosphere and staff really are this restaurant's greatest asset. 10/10 will return
Food was great! Service could have been better. It was Saturday and maybe a little understaffed. 3 staff members visited the table after we got seated and none of them could take our order. This made no sense. We finally ordered apps and they tasted great. But when it came time to order the main course we where told someone would come take the order soon. After 40 minutes. We decided to call it nigh!!
Came here and ate the perfect portion unlike the all you can eat places where you end up just gross lol.
The meats and fish where so flavorful and fresh.
The service was fast and unrushed.
The Drinks!!! Sooo Good! Ask for the slushie (Frozen drink)
The desserts where amazing as well.
This place is definitely a must eat nyc location and the price was decent a bit high but again worth it worth it worth it.
I promise you will Enjoy.
Went for Christmas Eve dinner with wife.
We ordered the large beef combo, the portion was almost too much but we did not have any apps. Quality was excellent. If you like beef that will melt in your mouth then this is the Korean BBQ for you. You can taste the freshness.
Staff was on point.
Big shout to our server Jeffery and the bartender.
We will be coming back (soon).
Years since I was last hear and glad to see they're still popping. Great vibe, music and service.
Minor snafu over table type (see below) but they were super helpful and fit us in while we enjoyed a drink and app downstairs. The BBQ was great - very tasty meats and sides. The setting for two could probably feed three if you ate everything. Definitely suggest adding the old fashioned and ice cream. It's a great deal and tbh both were well above expectations.
I'll be back!
Note: if you want the Korean BBQ don't use Google to reserve (as of Dec '23) because it doesn't have those specific tables.
Spacious and on 2 levels. Sat upstairs. Our server was very helpful in guiding us in our food selections. Tasty food.
Feels like a Korean take on American bistro food. They have small plates, apps and some plates for sharing. We had a delicious squid ink rice and seafood paella. We won an order of truffle fries by spinning the wheel when we arrived, and they were fantastic. Fun for larger and smaller groups.
I dream about Barn Joo's double fried wings! They are some of the most incredible wings I've ever tried. Cocktails are always delicious but the wings are a must try, I cannot wait to go back and try more stuff on their menu, it all sounded incredible. I do know one thing though, I will be back for their wings!
Did outdoor dining before a show with my SIL earlier this week at Barn Joo, Union Square, Manhattan 35 union Square w. She spun the wheel and won pickled vegetables. We ordered the duck bun appetizer together and split sashimi bibimbap.
Loved the spicy mayo sauce on the duck buns. Raw fish for bibimbap was a nice touch as I've never had that before. The flavors went well together. Food was phenomenal.
I made reservations. Staff didn't come to check on us often, but when we asked for something they came right away and were attentive. Staff wears masks.
They've got indoor dining and open air outdoor dining right across from the park. The park has a farmer's market found on, and you can smell lots of marijuana being smoked there...
Eaten here 3x
A great Korean restaurant, we loved the food and the design of the place is great as well will work as a place to have lunch or dinner but also as bar.
Bomb food every time I go here. Service is fast and very friendly.
Portion sizes are just right and taste is on point. They always ask for allergies too!
Sashimi bibimbap: 10/10 very good. If you don’t eat a certain fish; they will remove and add another.
Bulgogi tacos: 9/10 slaps. Get the lunch special; comes with fries and homemade soda. The soda is way too sweet in my opinion. And every though it’s 3 small tacos; it fills me up.
Oysters: got 1/2 dozen; good size; very fresh.
Adorable Korean restaurant in a great location! The pork belly had a wonderful umami flavor, especially with the gochujang. I felt the rest of the plate was a little unnecessary, but enjoyed it for the most part!
We had an excellent afternoon at this location. I had the octopus My fiance had. Some meat service was great. Everyone that worked there had their mask on restrooms are clean. The environment was good and the music was perfect. It was very convenient for us since the train station was across the street at Union Square Park. Thanks guys! We had a superb afternoon. We really appreciate it. Thank you!!
Had Stone Bowl Bibimbap choice of Mushroom 🍄 (skipped tofu). The dish is full of flavor, it will NOT disappoint your pallet. Also it comes with Kimchi on the side which is perfectly seasoned. Inside the restaurant is spotless. Service is above and beyond. Also had hibiscus lemonade, definitely recommend. Not too sweet, squeeze that lemon wedge inside the lemonade before having it. It gives refreshing kick to it.
I had only gone to the Barn Joo on 35th street before this meal, and now I think the Union Square location is superior. Upon entering the building, there’s an interesting nautical? themed decor, with a planked second floor and hammocks hanging from the ceiling. The music was loud and the ambiance was great. We started by ordering the Truffle Fries and Shrimp Dumplings as an appetizer. The truffle fries were seasoned perfectly, and the spicy mayo dipping sauce accompanied it very well. The fries were hot and crispy and you could tell it came out of the fryer minutes before being served. The shrimp dumplings had the shrimp tail poking out the end, and was filled with the rest of the shrimp and a delicious slaw-like mixture of vegetables and herbs filling up the rest of the inside. The dumplings were coated in a soy glaze and was one of the strongest dishes of the night. As an entree, I ordered the Sashimi Bibimbap. While initially disappointed it didn’t come organized in a box like the other Barn Joo location, I ended up satisfied as the portion of fish is huge. I love poke bowls and other dishes similar to this, but a problem I always run into is a poor amount of fish and a huge layer of rice to eat through. However, this bowl had the perfect amount of rice and each bite had fish in it. I drank a Hibiscus Lemonade along with my entree, which was sweet and refreshing. Overall, Barn Joo is a standout restaurant with delicious and fresh ingredients, and you can’t go wrong with any location you visit.
