A great place to dine in with your family & friends. Just a minute walk from time square. Everything in the menu was really delicious. Staffs were very friendly. The owner herself came to us & asked about the food. Prices are very reasonable.
So If you are looking for some authentic Indian food in NYC then undoubtedly this is the best place.....
A few coworkers and I found Utsav online and decided to try it for lunch. The lunch buffet special is at a very reasonable price and delicious. They have a wide array of choices. One of my coworkers has strict diet restrictions and was able to find many things to eat. The tikka masala was my favorite. I will be back to try some of the cocktails and dinner!
I really loved the ambience & service of the restaurant.!! Great food.!! Yummy .!! Would love to say to give a try in this restaurant.!! Really amazing.!! 10 stars if I hate to rate.!! Will come back again for the amazing food.!!
Loved the food. The food tasted like a restaurant in India and not America! That's how true to Indian cuisine this place is.
Very unique and yummy food, loved it...!!! Customer service was the best...!!
Delicious, some of the best Indian food I had in NYC. The biryani was so flavorful, I couldn't stop eating. Portions are a good size and service is attentive. Decor is nice since the redesign!
Tonight was the second time we ate at Utsav. We visit NYC infrequently, but this restaurant will always be part of the experience for us. The restaurant is pretty, the staff is friendly and happy to make recommendations. My favorite dish is the Chicken Angarey. It is spicy, with just the right amount of heat. The chicken is SO tender! I highly recommend! The cocktails were terrific, too. You can't go wrong here!
Went for some appetizers and drinks. The food tasted very good (I like spicy food and it was spicy). Quick service. Good quality. Decent atmosphere. Expensive though. Loved the crispy babycorn and chicken kali mirch kebabs. For drinks had the feni jungle. Interesting cocktails served.
I recently went here again with my wife and similar to last time, I had an exceptional dining experience. My wife, who is vegan, and I were absolutely impressed. Naseem, our server, went above and beyond to ensure my wife's dietary need were met, recommending delicious vegan options.
The flavors of the dishes we tried were truly authentic. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall enjoyment of our meal. From the moment we arrived until we left, the service was impeccable. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!
Experience Newly introduced Bengali menu at Utsav
It has been curated to accommodate both vegetarian and non-vegetarian palate and has a host of dishes that represent the Bengali cuisine.

Bengali food is a combination of subtle and fiery flavours. There are certain European influences also like the snack food tradition and foods like chops , fish fry and cutlets that are British in origin but are prepared and served in most Bengali households.
They have focused on presenting classic dishes of Kolkata in their menu. Try the Jhal Muri ,Fish fry, Bhetki Macher Paturi (fish fillet in a spicy mustard paste steamed in a banana leaf), Daab Chingri (large prawns cooked with mustard in a tender green coconut )and Kosha Mangsho (slow-cooked spicy mutton curry) with some Bengali Alur dum , Cholar dal, Luchi. Don’t forget Mishti doi which is a thick and creamy sweet yogurt dessert that's one of my favourite too.
If you're in New York City do check out this restaurant. Their Bengali menu aims to give you a taste of indulgence like the jolly Bengalis.
They also offer Indo Chinese and regional Indian cuisine.
On our last night of our NYC family vacation we really wanted Indian food. But we were not sure where to go. We found Utsav on a quick search. It was within walking distance and it said it was spacious. We gave it a try. The food was excellent. The dining room was full of tourists like us but that didn’t matter. The service and staff was top notch. We had butter chicken and tikka masalla. Small thing - the naan bread was next level good. Tasty cocktails as well. While we were trying to avoid eating near Times Square this place is a tucked away gem for Indian. I only wish we could have taken our leftovers.
This place is absolutely flawless; amazing food, great service, and a stunning atmosphere. Only had a five day trip and been here twice. The guy who serviced us (Ramson) what a great guy and catered for my nephew as well. Guys if you are in NYC you have to come here.
Very delicious curried goat and lamb dishes. Very nice atmosphere. Very friendly service. Great experience.
Very good food and wonderful service, especially from Ransom. The lamb chops were some of the best I've had! They also accommodated our kids mild palate - first time my son actually finished his Indian food. We love this place! Highly recommend..
EXCEPTIONAL service absolutely great server (Ramson). The food was delectable, absolutely delicious. Would recommend to anybody who LOVES flavour and savoury goodness. I would kill for the chef to give me private cooking classes. *chefs kiss* 💋
Excellent Bengali food, indo Chinese and North Indian dishes!
Special kudos to Ramson for his outstanding service! Thanks for making it special every time I visit from San Francisco! Thanks Team Utsav, must try when in NYC!
Good food and good ambience. The mutton Biryani was flavorful and the quantity was sufficient. The paneer butter masala was average. The service could have been be better.
My family and I were very hungry while in NYC and we decided to try Indian food here. We did not regret our decision. The food and service was extremely satisfying. My family has allergies so we let our server know and he made sure to recommend everything that we could have safely. The taste of everything was 10/10. We did not feel rushed at all and our server, Naseem was extremely informative and kind.
We cannot wait to come back!
We walked into Utsav during the lunch rush on a weekday and found the atmosphere a bit too loud to be enjoyable. Being seated close to other tables is expected, but the very open floorplan, while aesthetic, meant you could hear every conversation in the room.
The food, on the other hand, was very good. Expensive, but presented well and very tasty. Each dish that we tried felt unique and the spices were flavorful but not overbearing. Our waiter was good about refilling our water often. I would consider returning during off hours.
Wow! What a lovely experience and wonderful service.
Had visited from coral princess cruise line I never expected 5 star service just like the cruise line and the food quality were both beyond par will definitely recommend utsav to my friends.
