Best authentic Mexican food I have ever eaten. Most "Mexican" restaurants throw a corona or margarita in your hand and some fajitas and that's Mexican. This place had a really good selection of Mexican beer s( not corona) the tequila list is huge...and I didn't know what to order so I asked the waitress and she recommended a pork dish that was top notch. The platano desert they light on fire takes 15 minutes to make so make sure to order ahead if you are in a rush. We had a concert to go to and couldn't wait.
With 4 kids and a vegetarian mom (dad will eat anything), it is hard to find a place that we can all agree on. Everything was amazing! The service was great, and the portions were perfect!
This place is amazing. Their new vegan menu, unbelievable! Can't wait to go back for the drinks, food, spicy salsas, and more.
Food was fresh and delicious!! Margaritas on point!
Well, this is a place keeps the authentic flavors, the warm home cooking that Mexican hands offer. So delicious.
Great food and service. The atmosphere is very nice as well. I highly recommend it!
Really casual. Good food. Nice service.
Great local place.
We went during the Mexico Germany World Cup Game. Fun times.
Kid friendly, best guacamole citywide, friendly and efficient staff
Great place , the food is delicious and the service is excellent .
Great food. Good service. I would eat there again when I am in New York city!
Service was great. The good was delicious and the drinks were great.
The place has a nice atmosphere. The service was attentive. We order 2 cocktails, agave mule and black dust. They were balance and tasty. The mule is my favorite. The guacamole ashes standout with rich flavor. The ceviche of the day was ok, I expected more citrus flavor but tasty sauce. And we order the pork belly mole dulce and was delicious.
As others have posted- this is a top notch spot for authentic Mexican fare.
Ambiance and exceptionally well prepared food make for a great pause on a busy day.
Staff is wonderful and the food is great. TV
2022.3.04. Will not return.
A pleasant Mexican restaurant, friendly service. Nice wine glass . The food is bit slow, luckily we have enough time to spare. My back to the window on the sidewalk and is very cold - sitting there was my choice. I have my jacket on the entire time.
~ The guacamole garden is awesome, filled with many veggies and is tasty.
~ Pepian plato is bland
~ Shrimps are not fresh and tasteless
They've some interesting tile works thought out.
Went there twice. Bar staff amazing and the food superb. He'll even the toilets were an experience. Great place to stop off or spend a while. Xx
This was a nice surprise and supper, all the food here is so damn good, Mexican real food for sure, had such a good lunch. 🖤
Loved the service and they were able to cater to allergies. Vegetarian/vegan food is limited.
The brussel sprouts were great and the cauliflower tacos were vegan!
This is my go to neighborhood Mexican place. Food is authentic, setting is cozy. I love the guacamole and homemade chips, and they make terrific drinks. I’ve tried most of the dishes and everything is good. I just ate there again and the chicken enchiladas are incredible. See picture below :-)
Exceptionally great Mexican restaurant. Food quality and serving aesthetic stand out. Service is friendly and helpful. We read some bad reviews about the place that plate sizes are small, price is unreasonable - disagree entirely. Plates are of reasonable size, so you can try few dishes. Prices is more than reasonable for NYC. Definitely will come back!
Unique Mexican restaurant specializing in cuisine of the Western Mexico region Jalisco. We followed the server’s recommendations and all were exceptional.
I had the best dinner at Covacha last night. The food, drinks and atmosphere are authentic Mexican with an upscale twist. It is the perfect location near the Natural History Museum and is a fun break from the dreary cold weather. I highly recommend!
We enjoyed Covacha! We waited about 15 mins for a table on a Sunday afternoon. Great flavors and speedy service.
Found from the Michelin app and was insane! Every mouthful was tasty and delicious! Tacos were really full and yum! Will definitely be back!
I never come up to this part of the city but on a family museum trip I was looking for a Mexican place close to the museum of natural history for my dad. Covacha was a HIT. My parents were thrilled- the food was excellent, atmosphere wonderful, service great as well. Loved the fact that they had unique and authentic dishes, not your usual standard watered down Mexican for American tastes. Really impressed! Great job
Covacha is SO good, I came here for the first time several years ago while visiting New York and recently stumbled upon this place again this weekend on the Upper West Side!! We sat at the bar and the staff took great care of us. The cocktails are delicious, we did the house margarita and the Spicy Reaper (can confirm, the latter is hot). :-) The food here is great, too - I highly recommend the guacamole, Yaka-Tinga, and the Quesadilla Negra (+ the rice & beans are a great side). I will definitely be back, Covacha is a great UWS spot!
Gave a four because the chicken enchiladas had dark meat and I had to ask twice for the check after waiting 20 minutes since the first time I asked. The rice, beans, esquites, and guacamole were good. The veggie enchiladas were ok. I'd go back to try something else.
Most likely the best tomato salad, I have ever had. Main course also good but not that exceptional.
This place was just amazing. We found it on the Michelin guide, and we were not disappointed! Our server was great, and the service in general was top notch. The food was also very tasty, particularly the empanadas. The vibes of this restaurant are also great; the bar is beautiful. I highly recommend this place!
I had the pleasure of experiencing an exceptional dining journey at this restaurant. The ambiance was both upscale and inviting, creating the perfect backdrop for an extraordinary meal. The staff's attentiveness and knowledge of the menu added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The culinary offerings were a delightful fusion of flavors and techniques, showcasing the chef's artistry. Each dish was a work of art, and the presentation was as impressive as the taste. This restaurant is a culinary treasure that I wholeheartedly recommend.
The food is flavorful. We got the chicken and beef quesabirrias, chicken burrito, 2 lemonade, and a ginger lemonade. I highly recommend. Great service and vibes.
