Neighborhood eatery casual & good!
Relaxed tentative service, charming decors. Excellent Italian dishes and good wine drinks selection!
We were in season for white Italian truffles. Linguine white clam is prepared very well.
A good time with family and friends!
The everything lobster we got was excellent! From beginning to end. Went here for a friends birthday and everyone was very happy with their meal. We talked about coming back because it was that good. The lobster roll was perfection with fries. The grilled lobster also excellent and not dry. Lobster with baratta was amazing 😍 The lobster bisque we all wished there was more 😆😋🤤 Definitely going to go back and maybe try other items or just the same thing again 😁
Hands down one of the best authentic Italian spots I have had the pleasure of eating at. My wife and I had the the Vongole linguine and the king crab with truffle special. Amazing flavor. The vibe within the location was perfect for an intimate evening or a fun night out with friends
One of the best Italian places in NYC - pasta to die for. Really cute ambiance and great service as well. Cacio pepe agnolotti is out of this world and an absolute must order. Scallop appetizer and special king crab truffle pasta was delicious too. Extra points for a mocktail that wasn’t just juice on ice. Can’t wait to come back!
Good atmosphere, very friendly waiters, they adapted all the food to my dietary restrictions (gluten and dairy free, no onion, no garlic).
CRUDO DEL GIORNO: it was okay
PACCHERI ALLO SCOGLIO: highly recommended (10/10)
The sauce was delicious, the pasta was good (it was not the typical gluten-free penne) and they use parmesan (it loses the lactose as it is cured)
PESCE DEL MERCATO They made the fish without using garlic exclusively for me, it was a little overcooked, bland and not juicy for my taste but the skin was crispy and the sauce was delicious. STRAWBERRY AND LEMON SORBET They agreed to put a scoop of each flavor (lemon and strawberry), I recommend the strawberry one more.
(I highly recommend this place for people with SIBO)
Went with a large group, they were great in facilitating and getting us an amazing table in the back room. Restaurant has great vibes and chef sent a complimentary truffle ricotta toast that was heaven.
Such a fantastic find. Atmosphere ambience staff food and energy are all out of this world. Ingredients are hand picked from union square market so are organic, pesticide free and also don’t travel far which is lovely to hear. Specials change very often so you can come try something different depending on what’s seasonal any time of year!
Delicious meal. The octopus as one of the best I ever had. Both pasta dishes were phenomenal and the carrot cake dessert was great. Ambiance is on 1000 there. I do not remember the servers name but he was excellent in helping us choose a red wine. Strongly recommend giving them a try.
Came here for brunch on a Sunday. They have an awesome area in the back that’s nicely decorated and has a skylight. The place wasn’t busy, so you could have walked in without reservation. The vibe of the place is cool and I really liked the food too! This place also has a bar and a very cool vibe for dinner
Truly one of my favorite places ever in all of nyc. It’s in a super cute brownstone decorated with lowly lit lights and plants everywhere. The atmosphere is immaculate and their drinks/food is out of this world! The drinks are very creative- they have cocktails with various types of liquors and some liquors you’ve never even heard of. Their food is organically sourced and absolutely delicious. They’re also super accommodating for those who are GF or are with other restrictions. I came here for my friends engagement celebration and they were super helpful with bringing in a cake from outside and keeping it in the back until the end. The hospitality is truly unmatchable I seriously recommend everyone to come here!
When you walk down 13th st and see an awning with a giant question mark - the obvious thing to do is bring your family inside.
Staff was super nice, food was great, and had an amazing whiskey sour. Whoever was behind the bar that day was gifted.
I didn't have a huge appetite so I got the spaghetti. It was just right in portion for me that day - but if I was starving I would have likely went for something with more heft. Wife got the octopus - didn't try it myself since I feel for the smart many armed guys - but she was into it.
For a side they were out of the corn - so went with the potatoes which was pretty basic but ended up complimenting everything else anyway.
And there was also of course some nice olive oil and grilled bread (I think?) Before we got started.
As far as pricing goes, par for the course for a NYC sit-down with this vibe - so check the menu before you visit. Quality merited the cost imo.
Would come back for sure.
We had dinner with large group of friends and everything was great! We ordered every item on the menu to share and that way we got the chance to try so many delicious dishes! Drinks were bold and beautiful too! Oh, and don't forget to try the tiramisú, it was fantastic!
Alice is a hidden gem in the heart of the West Village, tucked away in the basement of a historical brownstone. The sophisticated, intimate atmosphere is the perfect setting for an unforgettable dining experience. As soon as you step inside, you are transported to a cozy and romantic space that is both elegant and welcoming.
The menu at Alice is a testament to the chef's mastery of Italian cuisine. Every dish is crafted with care, using only the freshest ingredients and traditional cooking techniques. From the homemade pasta to the mouth-watering seafood dishes, every bite is bursting with flavor and texture.
One standout dish is the Risotto Ai Frutti Di Mare. Absolutely the best seafood risotto!
I do highly recommend also the Grand Crudo daily picks, they are selection was to die for and I would go there every day just to eat it.
To complement the meal, the wine list at Alice is extensive and carefully curated, featuring a selection of Italian and international wines to suit every palate. The knowledgeable staff is happy to make recommendations and guide you through the menu and wine list, ensuring a truly personalized dining experience.
Overall, Alice is a must-visit for anyone looking for an exceptional Italian dining experience in the heart of the West Village. Prices were very reasonable for their phenomenal selection. The food, atmosphere, and service all come together to create a truly unforgettable experience.
Not too far away from the subway right when you get off. Or you could easily just take an Uber /Lyft to the restaurant.
Scene! Great spot all around: lighting, seating, color schemes, decor and music. Great ambience and different set ups throughout the brownstone basement. We sat in the covered patio entrance, the bar and the main dining room. The converted backyard room looked really cool too. I had a great wine and enjoyed a sip of their cucumber mezcal drink - although I prefer more of a bite with a mezcal cocktail. We decided on an appetizer that involved a Milanese style cheese with two artichokes grilled and then dressed with balsamic on top a bed of arugula which we enjoyed a lot. The best pasta was the fusilli with mushrooms and pistachio pesto - super rich. The potatoes were a nice side. Would definitely return!
PS: pictures don’t do any justice! We were too busy enjoying our dinner and night!
Beautiful Experience. Staff is incredible. Wine Director recommended two excellent wines. Mixologist we’re on point! And the food was fantastic.
Italian restaurant serving traditional dishes. Friendly service and the staff was very proactive on giving recommendations. We got the Lemon Pasta and the Sea Bass, which were good but nothing super special. I liked the dinner overall, though
A hidden gem on the West side! Alice serves up a unique vibe with amazing Italian dishes. I love their back room and the service is always too notch. My girlfriend and I came here for restaurant week and they had an incredible setup. $60 for an appetizer, entree, and desert. I went with the fritto misto and it was great. The Cacio e Pepe agnolotti with black truffle was the star of the show. One of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in a while. The caprese dessert was the perfect way to cap the meal. Overall 10/10.
