Really nice ambience I was surprised to how beautiful of a restaurant this one was I’ve never been to Bulgaria before, but I’ve of course seen it in the city. The food was surprisingly good. I’m not a huge fan of Spanish tapas, but I surprisingly liked it. The meatballs were pretty good but a smaller portion. The steak was good but also a bit smaller portion. So for the prices the portions were bit.
Fun place to grab dinner with a group. We ordered “the classics,” which is a tapas tasting menu. It was more food than we could finish and we enjoyed all the dishes. The paella in particular was very good. I wish they gave us more croquettes however. Service friendly but not very attentive.
The food was amazing, it was a bit loud in there and the bathroom was hard to find and far 😅 but otherwise definitely would visit again! I forgot what it's called but we got the one where the meal includes a few tapas of their choice, paella, and a desert, which was sorbet and delicious!!
The menu at Boqueria was filled with a variety of mouthwatering options, and I couldn't resist starting with an order of their shishito peppers with coarse sea salt. The peppers had just the right amount of char and paired perfectly with the salt for a burst of flavor. Next, I tried the gambas al ajillo, which was an absolute standout. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and bathed in a garlic-infused oil that left me wanting more. Moving onto the baby squid with white beans, artichokes, and squid ink, I was pleasantly surprised by the combination of flavors. The squid was tender, and the artichokes added a lovely texture to each bite. One dish that I simply couldn't get enough of was the dates stuffed with almonds and valdeón blue cheese, wrapped in bacon. The sweet and savory combination was fantastic, and the bacon added a nice crispy element. As if that wasn't enough, I also indulged in their churros dusted with cinnamon sugar and filled with Nutella. Each bite was a heavenly explosion of warm, chocolatey goodness. And to top it all off, I savored the Turrón - an almond and hazelnut cake served with honey dulce de leche ice cream and chantilly. The decadent combination of sweetness was out of this world, and I couldn't help but savor every last bite. Overall, my dining experience at Boqueria was incredible. The relaxed ambiance, attentive service, and delectable dishes made it a truly memorable meal. I can't wait to go back and try more of their amazing dishes!
I dined here in 2022 when I visited New York the first time.... it was SO good, and the service was top-notch.
We just returned to NYC due to a 2 day flight delay en route to our honeymoon. With time in NYC, I knew I wanted to go back here. Once again, I was blown away with the fantastic food and service. Both times, the servers were very friendly and knowledgeable, and the food came quickly. They made our night special, knowing it was the start of our honeymoon. Thank you to the wonderful staff for this beautiful gesture on what has been a very long travel saga!
Overall, good food and good experience. We choose the chef's menu and are satisfied with it. Paella is pretty good. My favorite is the croquetas and garlic shrimp. The churros are a little too sweet.
Amazing dinner!!
The Boqueria Experience from the Chef’s Menu was 👌👌👌!
All of the tapas we had were good; definitely would go back!
Bacon wrapped dates, steak, paella, eggplant yogurt dish, all so good.
We picked boqueria W40th as a place to try and thread a needle of a place with good food, quick service, and near enough to catch our Broadway show. We were warmly greeted and quickly sat down. We arrived right at 5 and we wanted to be out by 630 to catch our show at 7. Happy hour was ONLY at the bar which was kind of frustrating because from my booth k could reach out and touch a bar stool and I paid way more for the same food. Food came out super fast which is good Cuz we had some trouble getting our server to our table a few times. Overall we feel we nailed our plan of good quick food for a reasonable price and we made our play with time to spare.
Been here twice cause I love their food! Came here for NYC restaurant week but got turned down because they said I can’t do it because I’m by myself! They should have put it on the menu that the minimum is 2 persons.
Location: It is located in West 40th. There is outdoor and indoor. I went indoor and asked to be seated on the kitchen counter so I can see it, again I was turned down. There are lot of seats and pretty nice interior.
Service: they are nice to explain why I can’t do the nyc restaurant week menu and why I can’t sit on the kitchen counter. But still it should be on the menu so people won’t get confused. They were fast serving my food!
Food: So I ordered ALBONDIGAS: it was good meatballs, the inside is moist and tender and the sauce compliments it. 4 huge meatballs and you will be full! CROQUETAS de JAMON: crispy in the outside and it melts inside! Soo good my favorite! DATILES CON BEICON: omg it was the bomb! And there is a sort of a nut inside that gives texture to the dates! The bacon was so delicious! CHURROS: this was my list favorite, the churros was okay and the chocolate is too liquidy!
Price rating: 8/10, it was not bad for food that you will get.
Definitely will come back here because I love their foods! Hopefully next time they can offer NYC restaurant week to people who went by themselves!
Delicious dining experience in Manhattan NY. Spanish tapas and unique cocktails. Attentive service. Will return during my annual trek to NYC.
There was a hair in the bravas we ordered but the server was very nice and bumped it off the check and gave us complementary churros, which were good but just good, the fideua was the best thing I’ve ever tasted sooo worth it although the portion was pretty small, the paella was so good! You have to get it!. The sangria blanca was strong enough, definitely coming back!.
I wish I could give this place 10 stars per category. The manager Joe was such a gentleman that I wanted to steal him. I have been to so many Tapas restaurants. However, this one is an absolute MUST GO! The server was incredibly informative about the menu. The runners were polite and fast AF LOL. The food was an invitation to flavors combinations I never tried before , from Bacon wrapped Dates to The Crouqutes and friekn meatballs, and they could chock a horse. GO THERE !!!!!
What a great place to take a break from the hustle of Manhattan and enjoy some amazing food. The atmosphere is great. It feels pulled away from the street in its own space. Despite being a nicer restaurant, I thought the prices were very reasonable.
The bistec con huevos was great, and I loved sharing tapas before that. Add an espresso Martini and it was a perfect part of my day!
The food was great! Took my wife here to celebrate our anniversary. Each dish was a nice portion and flavorful. Drinks were good as well. Service was great. The abience was nice, clean and relaxing. Will definetely be coming back again. The food was worth the money.
This is the BEST of all Boqueria locations I’ve dined at here in NYC. Had the pleasure of enjoying an early afternoon birthday lunch with my daughter, back in November. She works nearby + knew the service & food was exceptional on her previous visits. The restaurant’s interior is beautiful. A very pretty bar & dining booths that add to the comfort of the experience. Lunch was delicious and the Manager Giovanni was gracious & attentive. Sorry I cannot recall our server’s name - his service was A+
I will definitely return often with friends & family.
I would skip the lamb skewer thing-- it was tasty but sinewy ( I had to spit a piece out) which was also the only thing we got that wasn't on the happy hour menu-- the happy hour is great though, come early to Broadway and see if you can score some rush tix-- then chill here on some tapas until the show-- we scored Kimberly Akimbo 12th row center for $40
