Paid this spot a visit for their infamous $4.25 small lunch deal. There was a line but the service was super quick and moved so fast. I ordered bbq pork requesting for it to be half lean, half fatty and I mean, just look at it glisten in the light!! So stunning and so delicious šŸ¤© It was amazing and I was beyond satisfied after this feed even though I ate right in front of their store under the shelter to get out of the pouring rain.

I can't have bbq pork anywhere else but here. It's so juicy and delicious. The flavor profile is phenomenal and their price point is spot on. I was sad because they were out of their roasted pork when I went but I will be back for you. They pack a container with rice, some veggies and pile on the meat and pour their gravy all over!! $3.5o for the small which is still quite large. I love this place!

A hole in the wall takeout joint.. their roast pork and roast duck is to die for.. They serve it white rice, steamed cabbage and a very light broth.. The whole combination is heavenly. There is always a line here..

We waited in line for about 45 min because we couldnā€™t leave NY without getting food from here. It is well worth the wait. I had the duck, my husband had the pork. Both were really good. There is nowhere to sit so beware that the duck is a little harder to eat standing up, but shouldnā€™t sway you from ordering it.

This Chinatown spot is a must-try! The pork or chicken with rice for $5.50 is an incredible deal, ensuring you get your money's worth. Arriving early is key due to the forming line, but the wait is worth it, and it moves swiftly. Remember to bring cash, as it's the only form of payment accepted; luckily, there's an ATM nearby for convenience. The highlight is the food preparation right in front of you, and they even allow you to record the process ā€“ a unique and engaging touch. If you're in Chinatown, make sure to visit this gem. You won't regret it!

Some of the best roast pork and roast pig (crispy skin) Iā€™ve had. I would caution against the roast duck however, as it is mostly bone. They also only take cash and have no dine in option so be prepared. There is always a long wait time the few times Iā€™ve been here. Expect to be in line 20-30 minutes. But that just serves to show the consistent quality of the food. The wait can be especially brutal in the winter though as youā€™ll be waiting outside on the sidewalk in the cold. There is barely enough space for 3-4 people inside the actual store.

The best Cantonese BBQ roast pork Iā€™ve had in America! there is always a line and they sell out before closing time so go earlier in the day, but it so affordable ($6-8) and the meat is so juicy! Definitely worth it.

The meat is very tasty. Portions are generous given the price. However, do not expect a Michelin star restaurant. I wouldn't wait if the line takes more than 30 mins.

Good food, great value, fast service, very long line. Took me one hour. The roasted pork and duck is my favorite.

The line moves at a decent pace. Itā€™s cash only. Get the DUCK. Everything is good. For the price, the duck is fantastic

A must visit eat in NYC China town. Cheap, fresh, delicious classic Chinese cuisine. For $7-$9 you get a whole meal which consist roasted pork/ duck/ chicken over rice and stir fry garlic cabbage. The service is quick but the line is long. I recommend to come during weekdays an hour or more before lunch hour to avoid the wait. Itā€™s cash and take out only!

What can I say about a place like Wah Fung? It is the quintessential Chinatown visit if you are visiting from out of town. They have the best Chinese BBQ pork I have had in a very long time. There is a queue to order your food, but the line usually moves fairly fast. It is cash only from what I experienced, but the meal is so cheap, and to be honest, even if they were to charge me 50% more, I still feel like it would have been worth it. There is no dining area, but the park is right across the street if you are looking for a place to sit and enjoy.

Streamlined operation. Offering Chinese bbq meats+rice, portion size is generous, flavours are ok, bbq sauce is a touch too sweet

The notable Wah Fung for value eats...definitely was on my to-eat list! Shared a two item: roast pork and duck with my friend. We were going to eat another meal right after, so we were just maximizing on all the variety we could eat. Lots of flavor and quick service for grab and go. You do need to wait in line since everybody knows this is the spot for value! When I visited, a small plate was about $5-6. Wish they had a combo for roasted pig and roast pork, but they didn't have it as an option. Next time! Gets busy! But line moves fast. Street parking only.

So tasty I almost didn't want to write about it lol. Got the char siu pork and roast duck combo and it was so tasty! And the fat from the meat and sauce they pour over the rice and cabbage flavors the whole platter really well. Cash only, no seating, but they're right next to a park you can sit at.

Brought my friends from out of town (I am from out of town too) and it was a HUGE hit. Wah Fung is a staple in NYC Chinatown and I come here every time. The taste, the value - can't be beat. The BBQ pork is amazing and has the most amazing sweet glazed taste and texture. The special now is a small BBQ Pork or Chicken on rice for $5.50, which is an amazing deal. It's put in a small tin tray that is packed to the brim with rice, veggies, and meat. We ordered 10 and everyone devoured theirs. Two of my friends did get the chicken option but after trying the BBQ pork, understood why I told them that the BBQ was a classic for Chinese BBQ. I'd definitely recommend the BBQ pork unless you have a dietary restriction - in that case, I'd probably recommend the BBQ Duck! It's not part of the special but I believe a small is still only $7. If you're more hungry, they also do multiple meat platters and I'd recommend the crispy pork and BBQ pork combo. There was a line when we arrived around 3PM on Friday, which is normal. The line moves relatively fast when the people in front of you know what they want, and we got through in around 20 minutes. Wah Fung only takes cash, but you can probably tell by looking at the place. There is also a park across the street which is the perfect place to take a seat and enjoy your Chinese BBQ, as obviously there is no seating in this tiny restaurant. What more can I say except you need to try this.

I came on Wednesday, shortly after opening so I did not have to deal with long lines. 3 people were in front of me at 9:15AM and that was perfect! I got a few things for variety that could be reheated for different meals. I got the large chicken. You get a lot. It is juicy, and well flavoured. Large pork. A decent amount. Good flavour and a nice change. Large duck. Great flavour. However, my only complaint is, when looking through pictures I noticed in the combo meals that about the same amount of duck was in the combo as my large duck order. It had 6 slices. The picture I took makes it look like more, but it was just the angle. I am complaining because I paid $8 and the combo was the same price with practically same amount of duck, plus chicken. Maybe I am being petty but that is honestly my only complaint :) Also, if you are unfamiliar with duck, try it! It is not a ā€œmeatyā€ bird like chicken. Some parts have only a very thin layer of meat. The thickest part of chest might have 1cm (ish) of meat (not including what you might see with the breast bone etc) it is really full of flavour! Stronger than chicken, but in a good way! And a couple words on the cabbage! It is delicious! They retain a slight crunch to it. A nice texture change! Donā€™t forget to bring cash! And expect long wait time during peak hours! Hope this helps someone!

Hard to beat Pork and Rice for $5.50. Line moves rather quickly. They plate up your orders fairly quickly as well.

Amazing roasted meats but the pork was the star. The chicken was good but pork packed more flavor. Plus, the steamed cabbage and rice drizzled with the meat juices paired well with the meat. There was a line around 4pm, but it moved fairly quickly. For a price of $11, you can get two small containers and be satisfied. I forgot to take a picture of the food because of hunger and excitement šŸ˜…. Now I know what the hype is about this place and I agree that it is worth a try and to keep coming back for.

Finally went to this famous cheap eats restaurant!! Got a small duck over rice ($6) and the portion is so big! The box looks small but it was HEAVY and full of juicy duck meat. The duck meat was so juicy and the skin was crispy too. There was a layer of cabbage and balanced perfectly well with the oiliness. Only downside was that rice was less flavorful but I cannot complain with this price.šŸ˜‹ Its quite popular tho so beware! I lined up for 15 minutes on a Tuesday 3pm. The line does move pretty fast and its cash only

While I was walking one block away from the store, I saw there was no line in front of the store. It was perfect time for me to buy the delicious roasted pork. However, when I arrived the store, I found the sign "NO GAS". I hope they open up again soon! (FYI: I went the store on 08/22/23 )

We visited at around 3 pm and the line took 30 minutes. It was worth the wait! I ordered the large chicken, pork, and duck with rice. If I was to visit again Iā€™d order just the pork, as I thought it was the tastiest - but maybe order them all and decide for yourself? My girlfriend preferred the duck. Great food, and a value at only $8!
