They say you can tell a lot about a restaurant by how well it cooks eggs. The French ham and Gruyère omelette passed with flying colors. It was light, cooked through without any hint of browning, and perfectly folded. The fries could have been a little crispier but good otherwise. Brunch was capped by a mug of frothy iced cappuccino. The service was excellent: lively, attentive and prompt without being intrusive. I would definitely go back for another meal.

Service is attentive but discreet. Very pleasant atmosphere for dining. Duck was good but not as tender as it should be. Note there is a surcharge for using credit cards that is not disclosed in advance.

Really fantastic, one of my favorite restaurants in the city. This place feels like old New York but not outdated. Every meal my family & I have had here has been absolutely exceptional, and the service is so kind and helpful. There’s an air of warmth about this place.

Truly excellent meal. Great contemporary takes on French classics. I highly recommend the Gratin Dauphinois, a true classic. Their Mousse au Chocolat is a bit thicker than most, but is a respectable take. As a person averse to mushrooms, the menu was a bit tricky to navigate, but beyond that and a lack of a cocktail menu, I have no complaints. Great French food.

Scallops were the best I have ever had and my husband had the lentil cod which was also very good. I highly recommend this restaurant. Bread was fresh and delish! Nice wine list!

Accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant to meet an old friend from college. We enjoyed the setting outdoors which allowed us to chat, giggle and be silly over French styled horderves, wine and dinner. Jamal provided excellent service and we look forward to visiting again.

Jean Claude II is my absolute FAVORITE place in UES. I love French food generally, but this place is always phenomenal. It's quaint; I've been multiple times after work (slightly dressy) or after running errands and have never felt out of place (this past time was after apartment hunting in the rain and needed to feel like I was "home"). The steak is always fantastic, as is the croque monsieur. It's actually a crime to leave this place without eating the bread and butter or having at least 2 glasses of wine, so be forewarned.

Lovely French resturant with a good selection of vegetarian options. I went for brunch and had the legume sandwich. It was really good! The vegetables were well cooked, the fries were crisp and well seasoned, and the salad was a nice nutritious touch! Price is reasonable for new york (not a cheap bite but on par with most sit downs in the area). Would come back here again.

If you are in the area this is THE place to go for a lovely meal! Everything will remind you of a French bistro... the mood, the service and the food!! Exceptional!! I am afraid to say anything regarding the price ... but it is far less than any other French restaurant in the area and every bit as delicious. Highly recommend for everyone looking for atmosphere, service and food! On my go to list! I recommend you add it to yours!!

Great service but food was pricey and average in flavor. I really want to give them more stars but sadly I can make some of the menu items better at home for 1/4 the price.

Quaint spot for some tasty French fare. I had the steak fries, what was made all the better with a dollop of herb butter that melts over the steak.

I dropped by for a steak sandwich with my son. Food was amazing, it made me feel like I was in Paris and good service. He is only 8 but he asks me repeatedly to bring him back there!
