I couldn't believe this is a non tipping reataurant. Outstanding service by excellent staff, especially Jackson! Good foods, drinks, nice atmosphere
We went for brunch. The pancakes were delicious! 0.5 away from 5 stars because the huevos rancheros, while delicious, were lacking in substance. Kind of too light in a way? But the cocktails were really good, there was amazing service, it's cool space
(if you have back issues the benches and chairs are low with no back support)
and everything is pretty reasonably priced.
We will DEFINITELY go back.
8 December 2012 101 Rivington Street – New York, NY 10002 Fantastic start to our NYC adventure, and it was right next to our hotel! Great vibe – buzzing but not too noisy or poserish. So many delicious burgers to choose from – this was finger licking good. The Hickory Burger with a surprisingly light potato bun.

What made it special? – the candied bacon, the generous and rich meaty burger, fantastic atmosphere

We had one item each and macaroni and cheese with truffle oil to share. The coffee here is basic American coffee, but the cups are bottomless.
Drank here a few times - a little annoyed at the refusal to serve unless you show your bar stamp for everyone - makes ordering rounds a real pain. I've only had the bar menu, but the meatballs were pretty good. I wouldn't pick this place just for food, but it hit the spot for a quick fix.
Great for groups!. This LES gastropub is where it's at. Grab a group of friends or make some new ones as you squeeze into a communal table in this dim-lit den of deliciousness. Though the exotic array of specialty brews are the showcase here, how can you go wrong with a dutch oven of mussels steamed with herb spaetzle, or a homemade seafood sausage? Truffle mac-n-cheese never tasted so good with hefeweizen before.
Ditto on the Great Beer/Bad Food. Impressive Draft List. I especially appreciate the listing of attributes and flavor profiles of each offering on their menu. The food however, sounded good on paper but failed on execution.
Bartender, an Ommegang Rare Vos please. What? I said, an OMMEGANG RARE VOS PLEASE. Speak up, what? OMMEGANG RARE VOS!!!! Holy crap is this place loud! WHAT? Spitzer’s Corner in NYC is that kind of place that somehow everyone knows about, and they are all there at the same time it seems whenever you go there. We went here on a recent Saturday night and it was packed – and loud! Sound bounces off of everywhere as the acoustics are horrible. My ears are still ringing almost a week later. Even so, I like this place as it has a cool communal vibe to it, and the food is pretty decent for a gastropub. Photo credit – Yelp The biggest draw to me is the 40 or so craft beers on tap. That’s correct – 40 CRAFT STYLE BEERS ON TAP – Woo Hoo! Plus, there are another 20 or so in bottles. Belgium, Lambics, Pilsners, IPA, Wheats, Stouts, you name it. For the love of all things sacred don’t order a crappy Budwieser here as there are so many great beers to choose from! Food is decent if a bit on the pricey
Any bar that has a beer called Victory Golden Monkey on tap is a bar I want to frequent. Spitzer's is that bar. Spitzer's is, in my humble opinion, the best place to go for great beer, great food, and a laidback scene. Perhaps I'm so partial to it over Gi
